A free streetcar between Findlay Market and the river via Washington Park and downtown…read more The Connector is a free accessible streetcar on a 18-stop line north and south through Cincinnati's OTR district. We hopped on at a stop on Elm Street in view of the west end of Findlay Market (May 2026). The stop had a ramp at both ends up to the level of the streetcar, and a small 3-sided shelter and bench. Inside the brightly-decorated clean car there were accessible spaces at the center doors, with about 40 seats overall and room for about 100-more standing. The seats were hard but comfortable. The car was clean and bright. The streetcars were not at all crowded midday on a weekday. Through end-to-end windows, we enjoyed seeing a number of the hundreds of colorful creative murals of all sorts that decorate the city. We rode the whole 3.6-mile circuit, past various clusters of restaurants, stores, groceries, and offices. At the south end, the stop also had a small 3-sided shelter and bench, and had no need for ramps. We took a stroll less than ten minutes to a row of swings that overlook the river! Cool! Then back up to walk around the green-spaces and playgrounds of Washington Park in west-OTR. The park stop had ramps and a small bench, but no shelter. We waited under nearby trees for a little shade. We ended our tour at Jane's bar back at Findlay Market, just past that streetcar stop. All the way, we used a transit app which did a good job of showing the location of the four-or-five streetcars, with accurate arrival-times at the stops where we waited. This was a great air-conditioned no-cost way to get around and see some of the sights of these parts of Cincinnati :-)

To my dismay, the driver showed up at my address around 3:15 for the pickup instead of the address I had provided. When I called to ask what happened, I was told the pickup and drop off addresses had been switched in their system and they had no idea how. So, the guest of honor arrived late to his own party! Given this and the expense of the service, I was very disappointed and would not use or recommend Ride A Wav.

The Cincinnati Bell Connector is new (just running since 2016) and right now somewhat limited in its stops, but for visitors like us, it was a PERFECT way to get a taste of some of the city highlights without having to constantly battle for a parking space!! I know there was and continues to be quite a bit of controversy regarding this new street-car venture here in Cincy, but I think it's a huge plus to have this type of service. We found parking down by the Banks (not a game day!!) explored around the waterfront for a while, then took the VERY convenient connector ride up to Findlay Market. Known as "Cincinnati's other abandoned subway system," Riverfront Transit Center was built in 2003…read moreunderneath Second Street and remains unused except for rare occasions. A half-mile long tunnel was originally created as a public transportation hub for visitors to the stadiums, Freedom Center, and other riverfront attractions. Despite being city property, it is normally off-limits to the public. That's a shame, because it is gorgeous and underutilized. Similar to the design plans for the unfinished 1920s Cincinnati Subway System, the Riverfront Transit Center boasts tiled walls filled with mosaics representative of the Queen City. From baseball, to stained glass windows, to cooking, and our machine tool history, the northern wall of the tunnel is covered in these Art Deco inspired murals. While they may not be made of Rookwood tile, they certainly come close as a modern equivalent. The Riverfront Transit Center is not a failed transit project; it is structurally complete but is not being used to its full potential. Currently, it could be used to decrease stadium and bus traffic along Second Street. The design is also able to support light rail if ever implemented in the area. While you may never see below the street level of the RTC, the portals to the underground hub are visible along Second Street. Just look for the futuristic glass entryways. The doors may be locked, but those dark stairwells descend into a tunnel of opportunities.

The bus runs between the airport and downtown Cincinnati. The stop is at 4th street and Vine, just behind the Westin Hotel and by Sleepy Bee Cafe. The fare was only $1.50 each way, when Uber quoted me $25 per ride, and the bus runs every 20 minutes on weekends. Needless to say, TANK was a no brainer. I saved money and arrived at the airport before my friends who Ubered. Another public transit hub is on 5th street, along with a streetcar that runs through downtown Cincinnati. You can easily walk to those (one block) from this stop. TANK is an excellent airport transportation choice, whether you're visiting downtown Cincy for an event or staying in a hotel. There's a Grater's ice cream shop a block away, so treat yourself to a cone with your savings from taking the bus.
