This review is long over due as I have been going to see Augusta for about three years now. Not just that but I also treat my wife to visits with her from time to time. Let me start by saying that while yes, she is a licensed esthetician and is a certified acne & advanced age management specialist, she is first and foremost a healer. Which is to say taking care of the human body comes naturally to her. Her approach to skin care is that of gentle guidance with plenty of deep wisdom. She takes into account both macro and micro variables in her approach towards skin care. And that is why I keep coming back to see her again and again. Not only do I feel like I'm being taken care of but I also feel like I learn something new about my body and how to better take care of it. Second, she is always in pursuit of knowledge. Every time I see her she tells me about a new skill she is incorporating, reading materials she's read or new approaches to her services. She is constantly seeking to improve, expand her craft. She never settles and it makes me feel like every new thing she learns it is being passed on to her clients thru her approach in her services. She understands not any one approach is without improvement and it shows in her care of her clients. Having said that, I also want to point that her new location is fantastic. I can't stress enough how impressed I am with how well she designed and decorated her business. Earth tones all around, a feeling of calm and comfort imbue the ambiance of her place. Augusta is a miracle worker! I had terrible, painful acne for which nothing seemed to work for my entire adult life (I'm 25). I tried antibiotics, birth control, Differin and all that and they either didn't work or gave me bad side effects. I hated to look in the mirror. I originally went to Augusta for a one-time facial with birthday money, but she took one look at my skin and said "I can get you clear." So I decided to make the investment and started treatments with her, used her products and followed her recommendations. I pretty much immediately started seeing a difference and with each treatment, my face got better and better. I think it took about 4 months to clear completely-- meaning absolutely no acne and any pimples that pop up around my period go away within a day or two. love! love! love! I found Augusta through yelp. I've been seeing her for a couple months.. It's great to just relax away for an hour while I get my face gets all the attention it deserves. I swear if it wasn't for seeing Augusta, I don't know how my face would look. I don't have time to take care of my skin as well as i should, so it's nice to know that I can come in for my monthly facial & i'll come out looking better then when I went in!
