I went in with slight sun damage on my skin and left with soft supple skin an even skin tone flawless blemish and hair free afterwards I'm shiny and have to keep the creams on overnight without washing my face. I haven't gotten any beauty services done in over a year because I wanted to be super cautious. The studio was very clean and sanitary pre-covid so I was actually excited to come back! I called her to get a remedy, she didn't even look at the outcome before handing me a bag of sample items e.g brightening cream, spf, etc - when I returned to her studio to pick up the remedy bag! I am writing this review even though I had to cancel my appointment and never got my lashes done -- let me explain. During the consultation before she started with my lashes, she was going over some logistics. It was not until she came to the part of asking whether I suffered from dry eyes, that was when I realized I would not be able to partake in the lash perming. However, she was extremely honest and gave me her professional opinion. She told me that clients with dry eyes will not get the most of their money if the perm is not able to last so long if continuous lubricant drops are dropped into the eye. They'll look nice for about a week or less depending on how often I lubricate my eyes. Sadly, for me, I use lubricant eye drops often daily since I have a condition called Sjogren's Syndrome which is a dry eye/dry mouth diagnosis. I am extremely thankful for her honesty because, hey, I like my money and investment to be well spent. I am grateful she was not money-hungry like some salons and would still go on with the treatment and letting me find out on my own later on after I have paid them. Well I've been coming to the studio for some time and the service is actually good, but the customer service sucks, big time. I had an appointment today, but I also tested positive today for covid, n since they charge $50 for a cancellation fee, I asked if I could come in with a mask. She told me I could not come in, rightfully so because she has a father in law that has a chronic illness. So SHE CANCELED ON ME, but yet instead of showing some compassion she chargedme $50. On top of that, she also refused to refund my money for the service that I paid for yesterday. She told me she would not refund my money, that I needed to reschedule instead. I told her I did not want to schedule and so she told me she would not refund my money. This is not the first time I've had problems with this office and charging fees. Their office is not nice, if customer service is important to you I would find someplace else. There are 1 million places to go for Lash Lift. For me, it's important to me to have long-standing relationships with the people I do business with, and Carol, must be going through some financial problems to be so greedy with my money. I let her know I'd be writing this review and I let her know that I would be contacting my credit card for a refund and that's exactly what I did. She could've showed some compassion that I had Covid. Sorry, Carol, I do not need to reschedule, because the way your office handled the situation this time and previous times. I went here for the first time after bookmarking Essencial Studio. I've always wanted to try to the Facial Friday specials (where they have a quick facial for only $35!). Well, I finally got to go on Friday and it was amazing. I am going to go back soon :) = PARKING = It's in the same plaza as THE PAN. There's a parking lot and they have 3 saved spots in front of the studio, but when I went it was already full so I parked in the back. In case that all the parking spots are full, there is plenty of street parking as well. = AMBIANCE = The studio is so cute and quaint. When you first walk in, you're greeted with the smell of essential oils which is addicting. The receptionist was friendly and gave me paperwork to fill out. I like this because they can really track along your progress and see if you're allergic to anything that might affect your skin during treatment. The studio is super clean and bright. They have a lot of products displayed and also some tea and water available. It's a great atmosphere. = SERVICE = I met Carol and she asked me if I had ever gotten my face scanned (?). So, I put my head into this cool machine that analyzed my face and she went over some of the trouble areas. The machine was so cool, it picked up on your sun spots, your dry areas, oily areas, etc. This is great because she can see what your trouble areas are and then recommend treatments to help with that. Then, I was taken to a room and told to take off my top and lay down on this warm bed (ahh so relaxing!). What I really liked was that she explained everything she was doing, what products she was using and also answered any questions I had. You can tell right away that she knows what shes talking about! Carol is super passionate about skincare and it really shows, she asked me about what items I'm using - gave me best practices, etc. The facial started off with a cleanser, then she used this awesome brush tool to help exfoliate the skin, the mask, moisturizer, and then she applied lip balm/chapstick for me at the end of the treatment. I loved the massage portion as well, and I wanted the facial to last forever- but for a quick facial, it went on longer than I expected! I immediately got drawn to their products they were selling and wanted some lip glosses. Noelle did my facial. You definitely can tell she's a licensed aesthetician. She sat me on this machine which shows the amount of oils, pigmentation, et al on your face. I had so much oil, dead cell, and blackhead built-up, I could feel it on my face. I rarely get facials, because I find extractions really painful but Lord knows I need them. I'm so happy I found this place on Yelp! Carol is amazing. I was super desperate one day, after finding my skin was starting to look bumpy. Now I never really get pimples so of course I was freaking out. But by the time Carol was done with me, the bumps on my face were almost gone. She has this little machine thing that shows that problems on your face.. she basically told me I had "coffee face" lol. After reading all the good reviews of Carol and purchasing a Yelp Deal ($40 for $50), I decided to pick this place for my first ever facial/spa experience. My first treatment (7/10/13) began with an Essencial Facial. This included a lot of deep cleansing, exfoliation, a mask, and extractions (only a few because some were too deep). Very wonderful facial. Carol's hands were so gentle. Soothing music and calm atmosphere. Overall, I left relaxed and with my face feeling clean and glowing. I had such a great experience, I decided to come back today! :) :) :) Today, I opted getting a Chemical Peel. This is a 3-series treatment.. every 2-3 weeks per Carol. Prior to making my appointment, I was very hesitant and scared. The thought of "peel" and chemicals on my face, was not pleasant. My skin has recently been acne prone with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and Carol explained to me I would benefit and see results sooner (depending on your skin) with chemical peels. I had my first one today and I had a great experience. During the facial, she's constantly informing you what will be applied and what to expect (discomfort if any). I felt comfortable and worry-free and knew my skin was in good hands. At the end, my skin felt soothed and supple. Patience is a virtue, but I can't wait to see some results. Lol. So far, I've had two treatments with Carol. Each one different, but the experience the same.. great!! Carol is so nice and easy to talk to. I had the pleasure of coming in for a facial and a waxing. Since I got an Amazon Deal I was nervous. I'll be honest... It's a hit or miss with Amazon Deals and since it was my face I was extra apprehensive because I usually don't like to have my face touched, and I haven't had a facial in 10 years! (Due to the fact I don't like to have my face touched.) :P But, when you age... your skin changes and the bad choices you made in your youth start to show up. My friend goes here to get his eyebrows done as well as facials once in a while, and he always raves about it! They look pretty nice too ... He always goes to Carol, he says she is very friendly, sweet and easy to talk to. She gives detailed explanations of what she is doing, and always will suggest different options based on what she can tell from looking at your skin. He even fell asleep during a facial once after a rough week at work and they just let him sleep there for a bit afterwards instead of waking him up and kicking him out (I would of done that :D)! How awesome is that. The front desk girl is also very nice and offers water when you get there. Waxing is 15% off on Wednesdays and they give you a birthday discount for the month you are born in. If you sign up for their email list they will email you random specials as they have them. Also, you have the option of calling in appointments or scheduling them yourself online. If the time you want on a certain day is not available, you can always call in and see what they can do. They also take credit cards (at least VISA) which is great. The only thing to be careful about is the driveway into the plaza ... its pretty steep. If you have a car that is lowered or has a low front bumper, you will want to enter and exit at an angle at slow speed if you don't want to scratch (or worst case crack) your front bumper.
