Marketplace Mall is antique hunter's dream located in the Amish Country. The shop combines locally…read moremade goods and antique finds. There are 70 different vendors in this space. I was so impressed with the selection and spent way more time here than historically at other vintage shops. AMBIANCE/INVENTORY: Each vendor essentially has their own themed booth in this space. To be very honest, the amount of inventory is overwhelming. As you navigate through the space, you'll find everything from local jams, furniture, Viking attire, toys, decor, clothing, and seasonal merchandise (Christmas). I would especially visit this space if you're looking to entertain and need plates, tea cups, and so on. Also, if you're looking for a fancy brooch or necklace for your next social event, look no further. I visited for just browsing. I walked out with gorgeous Matryoshka (Russian Doll), a hand-painted Russian egg with a church on it, and crystal-ish egg holder. I paid very reasonable price for these items considering that souvenirs from Russia are scarce right now. This space really offers very unique finds. VALUE: The prices vary. Each seller sets their own prices so they are all over the board. I would say that you can find items within any budget. Most items are well priced for antiques. SERVICE: The vendors work at the shop to help out. Several people approached me to offer help, share stories about the space, and socialize. I found this to be a very friendly environment. I look forward to returning here. If you visit, I recommend allotting extra time for browsing the store and every corner. There are so many hidden gems. The shopkeepers told me that the inventory continuously rotates and expands, so you'll always find something new.

Love this place! Great deals. If you don't like a price they take offers too! Everytime I visit…read morethere's new items to see!

Without a doubt, Silver Eagle was the best discovery of the day. Definitely better than the Oktoberfest itself, but that's another story. Like so many antique shops; it's packed from floor to ceiling, musty-smelling, and filled with little nooks and crannies that house the most interesting things. There are several rooms, and we easily got lost for a couple of hours looking at all the cool, old treasures. They have a huge collection of local memorabilia from Akron and the surrounding areas. There are also lots of old postcards, appliance ads from the 30s - 60s (hello, Mad Men!), and LIFE magazines which were really fun to read! My favourite discovery was all of the old photographs -- they were really, really lovely. The owner seemed a little crochety, but he kept to himself. I found so many cool things in here that I wanted, but didn't have any cash on me -- I'm definitely going to have to come back.

If you collect bottles this place is your holy grail. The owner was once a huge bottle collector and knows a lot about Akron's dairy history. I love a vintage store with an owner full of knowledge. There's a pretty solid vintage appliance collection, baseball memorabilia, civil war relics, native american arrowheads, art, costume jewelry, old photographs, barn tools, antique metal toys, and even furniture (good luck getting it out). I have my eyes on an old Akron jailhouse skeleton key. I'll be back!
