I heard the owner bragging to a customer that he's on multiple sites online which would explain the outrageous prices for what they have to offer. It appears as though the owner is trying to price items for a global market and not for the local economy. I didn't find anything here that was impressive and it appears as though it is more of a hoarding situation with piles of scrap items sitting outside the building. I stopped in during Apple Butter Fest, and simply walked over to the cafe. AMBIANCE: It's the type of cafe where time stands still. Many friends and families were relaxing on the patio during the last warm days of autumn. At unhurried pace there were even mother and daughter playing cards. Slow pace atmosphere carried inside. Each home-like room of the cafe was occupied by families having a nice conversation and coffee. There are plenty of diffident nooks for groups and solo coffee connoisseurs. Seating is available in the form of couches, wooden tables and chairs. The way that the cafe is separated into rooms allows for extra roomy atmosphere and an element of privacy. FOOD/DRINKS: The menu includes food options like soups, wraps, deli sandwiches, and breakfast items. Baked goods can be found in the case like tasty looking muffins. As far as fiends, there's wine, coffee, tea, and more. Coffee can be customized with various pumps of sweeteners. Tea is available loose leaf and you can custom scoop your tea bag with a desired flavor. I really wanted to order Cayenne Kick Mocha. But my middle aged body would have acid reflux. Instead I went for another option - hot apple cider (medium cup, $4) to continue my apple theme. The cider was very tasty and scorching hot. SERVICE: The best way to describe service is very transaction and anxious. The line was pretty long which may explain it. This part of the experience felt the most fast paced. I didn't enjoy the service at all. I might drop in again to try Cayenne Kick Mocha next time. I loved the atmosphere but not so much the service. Nonetheless, I want to give them a try on a slower day.

However, it does not, for a moment, affect this review. Sometime a while back, I knew I was going to propose to my lovely fiance (spoilers! she said yes), and started shopping for a ring. Researched the important factors and started looking around, and while i found a lot of nice rings, nothing that really called to me. It was a frustrating process, culminating in buying what I thought would be the perfect ring online, only to return it. That was probably the lowest moment, and so I took a break in my ring shopping. Fast forward some months later, and I saw someone else from my hometown post photos on social media of a beautiful designer engagement ring from Mike Press, and so I reached out to Mike. I had no idea what I wanted, even after all that shopping, and couldn't have been more nervous. I didn't want to design a custom ring, because I have the imagination of a piece of wood, so I relied on Mike to ask the right questions and pick out a number of options. He was patient, detailed in his explanations of various rings and options, and came up with a number of beautiful suggestions. Nevertheless, I still could not make a decision. I was scared of completely screwing this up. I asked a million questions, then disappeared for weeks while I thought about it, only to come back and ask more questions. Mike never brushed me off or decided I wasn't going to be a sale - he just kept helping me along. In the end, not only did Mike find a beautiful diamond but he held it for me in spite of having other interested parties. Sent me photos, videos, descriptions, etc until I was finally able to pull the trigger. With the perfect diamond, he then suggested what ended up being the perfect setting to go with it. I was so trilled with what he put together that I wasn't even worried about whether or not Melissa would like it. Again, it was perfect. I wish I could find more good things to say. This was an incredibly stressful and nerve wracking process but Mike made it easy in the end. I was glad to give the business to someone I've known my whole life, but even still, was not expecting the kindness, patience, and helpfulness to the degree Mike provided. He bent over backwards to make this easy.

I was out shopping and thrifting in Middlefield so I figured I would check out the Marketplace…read moreMall. Located on Kinsman Road in a former drugstore building you will find an 'antique mall' filled with individual booths. The Mall is overall very clean and bright, most of the booths are well organized and easy to check out. On the downside I found that less then half of the items were antiques or vintage, instead it is a mix of all sorts of items. For me I only saw a couple of items that interested me. Overall the prices seemed high for what was being offered; prices do vary depending on the booth. The vendors and volunteers that were in the Mall were nice and friendly and clearly the vendors care about their booths. I was primarily looking for wood carvings, especially masks so it is always a longshot whether I will find anything, but usually I can find some items that are worth checking out; here the pickings were very slim. Of course your experience can and will vary.

I was so impressed with the selection and spent way more time here than historically at other vintage shops. AMBIANCE/INVENTORY: Each vendor essentially has their own themed booth in this space. To be very honest, the amount of inventory is overwhelming. As you navigate through the space, you'll find everything from local jams, furniture, Viking attire, toys, decor, clothing, and seasonal merchandise (Christmas). I would especially visit this space if you're looking to entertain and need plates, tea cups, and so on. Also, if you're looking for a fancy brooch or necklace for your next social event, look no further. I visited for just browsing. I walked out with gorgeous Matryoshka (Russian Doll), a hand-painted Russian egg with a church on it, and crystal-ish egg holder. I paid very reasonable price for these items considering that souvenirs from Russia are scarce right now. This space really offers very unique finds. VALUE: The prices vary. Each seller sets their own prices so they are all over the board. I would say that you can find items within any budget. Most items are well priced for antiques. SERVICE: The vendors work at the shop to help out. Several people approached me to offer help, share stories about the space, and socialize. I found this to be a very friendly environment. I look forward to returning here. If you visit, I recommend allotting extra time for browsing the store and every corner. There are so many hidden gems. The shopkeepers told me that the inventory continuously rotates and expands, so you'll always find something new.
