I had a very disappointing experience here. The owner was extremely rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I purchased a drink from the refrigerator only to realize it was well past its "best by" date. After checking reviews online, it seems I'm not the only customer who has encountered expired products here. There were no signs in the store disclosing this issue. When I brought it up, the owner questioned me aggressively and even raised his voice while I was still shopping in the aisles. He asked why the bottle I was bringing back was empty, which felt unreasonable--I wasn't sure if he expected me to bring back a half-finished drink. The situation was embarrassing and uncomfortable. I wouldn't have made a big deal about a refund, but the way I was treated made this experience unacceptable. I hope the business improves on how customers are treated. read more

Mr. Darby's is fantastic! If you love antique and collectibles definitely check it out. It's private vendors so there is something for everyone. I of course forgot to take pictures but I bought a near mint condition Corning ware teapot, a Corning ware handle, a set of 6 beautiful drinking glasses, and a doily. There are things that are expensive but you can definitely find a lot that is reasonably priced- it all depends on the vendor. There was so much more I wanted but I already went over budget. All of the staff is so kind and helpful. Jean who is a vendor also works there. She knows where to find anything you are looking for if they have it. I had the most rude encounter with the sales team today. I've shopped here for years and making offers are part of the process of shopping at these types of outlets. I made an offer today and the sales lady who had a grey pony tail with glasses said "That's all your going to offer" and then proceeded to act very rude with the other sales person right in front of me. I won't be going there for a long time and hope they don't treat others this way. read more

We made the trip from Pittsburgh to visit this antique shop. We were not disappointed. There is lots of cool stuff to look at. I found two Beatrix Potter items (which I collect). I was hoping to find a Barbie doll too but no such luck. Prior to our visit, I was looking at their website. At least I thought it was their website! It showed the owners' two cats, Darby and Spirit. I thought that the cats lived at the store. After browsing around for a while, my husband asked the clerk if the cats were here today. She said "We never had cats here". She obviously thought he was crazy! I then went over and explained to her why we thought this. So please, tell us we are not crazy! If you ever see the owners, ask them if they have two cats named Darby and Spirit. read more

Make sure you check under the price tag. I bought a frog paperweight that seemed in perfect condition. After I got home (2hr drive) and my niece removed the price label we realized the frog was damage. I paid $13 for it. I called and spoke to the lady (Taylor) who rang us up. She said there are no refunds but that's not why I called. I wanted them to know this is happening in their store. She took my name and number but no one followed up. I sent and email. No response. Had an incredible experience on my day off at Mr Darby's. Staff was easy going and accommodating. So many items ranging from vintage to retro to antique I was fascinated for over an hour. There is so much to see in this emporium. Look closely otherwise you might miss items in the glass cases close to the entrance. The prices are good too.
