I would use caution before putting your child on a wait list at this facility and here is why:…read more I wanted to make people aware of how we were treated by the staff at Little Miracles. December of 2017, we took a tour of the facility and really liked what we saw and how things were done. We were looking for our son to start Pre-School August 2018 since he would be 4 then. We asked what we needed to do in order to get him set up for the Fall. We were told if we paid $50 in advance, that would "bump us up" on the wait list. Basically, paying at the time would guarantee our son a spot. Furthermore, if anyone were to leave between January-August, we would be one of the first people they contacted. We paid them the money and went on our merry way. I never heard anything back from them so in late July early August I called them to see what all I needed to have done to get him ready for his first day. The lady told me to bring by my application packet and that was all I needed to do. When I arrived, a lady told me "Well, Ms. Riddle unfortunately we do not have a spot for him in our Pre-K class. However, we can put him in a room with advanced 2-4 year olds (whatever that means) and one of the Pre-K teachers can bring him a homework packet every week. She said she was so sorry, but sometimes it just works out where they do not have a spot become available. We did not want him to be in a room with 2 or 3 year olds (no offence to the little ones). So, here we are a couple of weeks before the classes start and I have nowhere to take my son. I started calling around and thank God I found a place close that had a last-minute spot which opened up at Smyrna Christian School. If I had not found a place for him to go at the last minute, not sure what I would have done. At this point, I knew I no longer wanted my son to attend this facility. I stewed over this for a while. After speaking with my mother in law, whom has a friend and is a program evaluator with the State of Tennessee, said this whole thing with the $50 bump up the list thing was not normal and said I should make a complaint about it. She also said it was bad practice to tell someone they have a spot, in reality....they do not. I finally reached out to Little Miracles letting them know how I felt about it and asked for my $50 back if nothing else. I see in the contract there is a $50 non-refundable enrollment fee, but since he was never enrolled because he did not have a spot, I should get that money back.... right?? Anyone else feel that way? One of the ladies there asked me for a phone number and best time to call and discuss this. I have emailed her back 3 times letting her know and have not heard a word from her or anyone else. I would use caution if anyone out there is thinking about adding their child on a wait list for this facility. I have figured they will not give me back my money, so I want to at least make others aware of these shady people. I would NOT recommend his place. Bad business with untrustworthy people.

The things she told me about what really went on behind closed doors in other classrooms were astonishing. Children weren't being played with, babies were being left unattended on changing tables, teachers were found sleeping during the children's nap times, and hands weren't being washed. Sorry, but it's hard enough to leave my children all day, but to not know whether they're being kept safe or not is absolutely unacceptable. Sometimes complacency sets in after people have been in an environment too long. This place needs better management!!

We have had the experience of several of the teachers and each have been just amazing. He has shown tremendous improvement in all areas of early childhood development - vocabulary and language, reading, writing, numbers, geography and overall social skills. All credit goes to the dedicated teachers, the Montessori curriculum and the class environment this school has created for children. The great thing about this school is that it is nothing like a typical day-care. It follows a popular Montessori system where teachers follow a curriculum to teach specific skills to children based on their age and ability. The flexible system allows children to pick up on things they love to do, master it and then move on to something new. I found the school environment homey & comfortable yet professional and safe. The classes are big and bright with tons of educational material. Another thing I love about this school is that the teachers are very honest with you and work with you to help your child in areas that they need extra help with. Teachers consistently encouraged our child, fed his appetite for new and exciting learning needs, provided feedback and involved parents through out the school year via activities. Our son is in a safe and very nurturing environment, he is learning and having fun at the same time. What more could parents ask for? We strongly recommend this school to our friends and neighbors all the time.

Anybody can go to Goodwill and get some decent clean pants to be respectful. The pastor also has zero personality and sounds like a funeral procedure every Sunday. The organist apparently can't play all the notes (I'm a horn player, so I notice). Smyrna has to have something better to offer.

My family LOVES Smyrna FUMC Preschool!…read more After having one daughter (and pregnant with my second), we started to discuss giving this stay-at-home mommy some respite. We researched nearby preschools and MDO programs. I was leaning toward this one because it was less than a mile from my house. I was afraid that I was choosing it simply because of its proximity. When I told my mother-in-law that we were looking for a part-time day school for our 3-year old, she said, "There was a really great preschool that we used about 30 years ago...and it's close to your house! We loved it, and the teachers were great!" Yup. She was referring to SFUMC Preschool! (And, yes, my husband went there!) My oldest is now in kindergarten; she excels academically and enjoys her learning environment. She absolutely loved her 2 years (2013/14-2014/15) at SFUMC and adored all of her teachers in her time there (Mrs. Alyson, Mrs. Megan, Mrs. Frankie, & Mrs. Sheila). She made so many friends and memories! My youngest is in her second year now (started 2014/15), and she'll have one more year before starting kindergarten. I was very pleased with how her teachers (Ms. Stephanie & Mrs. Kelly) helped us with potty training last year! Now, she enjoys being in Mrs. Samantha & Mrs. Kelly's class! She has learned so much already! Plus, both of my girls take/took tumbling classes with Mrs. Jamie at the preschool. It's such a convenience to have that opportunity for the littles! The teachers are all excellent, friendly, courteous, professional, and respectful. I can't say enough about this program! I would recommend SFUMC Preschool to anyone!

Enrollment was smooth and my daughter fell in love with the facility before she began. My 29 month old is a little fussy at drop but her teachers do a great job at redirecting her and consoling. As for my 7 month old, he lights up at the sight of his teacher. I was against daycare intentionally, however I do feel comfortable with the thought that my children are safe and moreover loved here. Also, the facility's app Procare allows myself and dad to stay in tune with their day to day activities. My daughter's class offers curriculum and activities that I see in kindergarten so I appreciate the staff for preparing the students & keeping them engaged with age appropriate activities.

Last summer there were fliers at the front desk for N-Zone sports. You sign up your kid and someone from N-Zone comes once a week for the month to introduce your kid to the new sport of the month: kickball, soccer, football, and basketball were some of the offerings. One week our child said nobody had came that week to teach him soccer. So we asked two different staff members about it and nobody knew what N-Zone even was. We called the front desk the next day and asked if Ms. so-and-so from N-Zone would be there today and the woman on the phone said "I dont know but if she comes he (our kid) can go with her." Excuse me??? There is never anybody sitting at the front desk to screen people in. Anybody can walk into the building behind a parent and have access to your child and the staff would be absolutely unaware. You can literally say you're anybody and nobody would know any better. Just wanted to add that Ms. Tammy is a great teacher and made both our kids feel loved here. Ms. Carol was also a high quality staff member who always knew what was going on at Jaymes. You could tell she actually cared. Hopefully she left for a higher quality school.
