Went in today for the first time. So grateful that I did! I was actually following my map to another store when I looked into the window and saw this one. Wow! So many raw crystals and hard to finds! A few fossils, but probably not worth the trip if that's your interest. If rocks are your thing, or metaphysical, then this a good spot. Whoever their buyer is, they're doing a wonderful job! The rocks here are gorgeous and I didn't feel like I was rescuing them from bad energy. I did get a funky vibe from the other store and promptly zoomed back over to this one for a few purchases. When I got back, they were burning sage! So I got a little smoke cleanse while I was at it. They also have sound healing here and jewelry. The best crystal shop by far... I have been going there for years. So happy they have expanded their shop. Been buying crystals, tarot and crystal learning texts from them for ages. The customer service is top notch. They will even walk around the shop with you and explain what each crystal is used for. They can also tell you about your aura there. Also if you are looking for crystals and stones bug in size for display, they sell those too. I introduced my mother, sister and best friend to them over the years and came in with my baby today. I stumbled upon this shop after a hard day at work and am very happy I went inside. I have been to many metaphysical stores and this store was a real gem in the Westside. Wendy was very helpful because she let me browse and take my time. I came in because I smelled the wonderful sage and palo santo which is what I usually burn. I wasn't planning to buy anything but I was called to buy some jewelry for healing for my mom who had recent surgery and I also got some beautiful bracelet for myself to help mend my aura and cleanse me. I also bought a few magical herbs to help my friend attract abundance and prosperity. I bought a ton of herbs for myself and am enjoying my meditation at home. I'm definitely going to be regular here and this place is just wonderful compared to me having to drive over to Pasadena or Santa Barbara for my metaphysical needs. This crystal/healing shop is by far the overall best on the Westside [I'm local] and most likely LA. The selections are vast (largest collection in LA) well-organized, and equally importantly, the staff has warm energy. Every time I come in I end up asking an obscure question about stone characteristics and if a staff member doesn't have the answer, they make sure to find it immediately. This shop cares. The staff and owner here are very friendly and knowledgeable about the pieces they carry! I purchased a quartz cluster that came from Nepal for around $90, absolutely beautiful and full of energy! But the piece broke in two while the cashier wrapped it in bubble wrap, I didn't find that out until I gave it to my girlfriend. I contacted the owner and told that I wanted to return it for a full refund. Ryan didn't hesitate to make things right and accept my request. In the end my girlfriend decided to keep the cluster because of the beauty and energy it gave. read more

Customer service was a huge let down. I browsed the store and was never acknowledged or asked if I needed help despite being only 1 of 2 customers with 3 employees on deck. One girl walked past me several times in the store and never even tried to make eye contact. I don't expect the red carpet but I would have appreciated acknowledgment. read more

I've been a loyal customer for many, many years going way back... I think as far back as the 80's. The ambiance at the original location was serene and spiritual. It was always a pleasure to browse through the crystals and select the one with just the right vibes. Sorry to say I really didn't enjoy my first visit to the new location. Something about the place put me off as soon as I walked in. It's too big and too bright and it just felt like all the other unfriendly and overpriced boutiques in Santa Monica. There's nothing warm and cozy about this shop. I want in for a specific crystal. The original location had them well organized with little description cards on the display. The new location feels like inventory is spread out all over the store just to fill the space. I had to walk around the whole place 3 times before finally selected one, but it didn't really speak to me. I didn't ask for any help and nobody offered. So I was really put off when "suggested tip" was shoved in my face when they swiveled the iPad around for my signature. Why would they suggest 20% tip? She was nice enough, but all she did was process one transaction and swipe my card. I don't have a problem paying a little more, but I was really offended by this blatant money grab. This is not the experience I want to have when shopping for reiki supplies. I probably won't be going back. read more

Scammers beware I walked in to get a picture of my chakra 'the lady behind the desk said hi and left there was another lady over there trying to convince a poor girl to spend couple hundred bucks.i think she just got out of a relationship and the lady was trying to take advantage of her. After 5 minutes lady turned to me and said can i help you i said yes i want to get a picture of my chakra , she said we only do it by appointment. What a joke that only takes a minute and i told her i did it here before and i was told come anytime. Then she got nervous and said I'm sorry we don't do it. Cool store! Nice and clean. Stones are organized. Lots of weird stuff and useful stuff. Just super overpriced. Definitely worth saving up though if you're into crystals. The staff was a little strange last time I went. It didn't feel warm and inviting, it felt like judgmental energy was going through the room. Every time I look at a stone or touched it I felt as though I was being "watched". Understandable, because I'm sure there has been "shoplifting" before but it makes it really difficult to focus on shopping when I have people staring at me. It brought out my anxiety just going in the store :( I just felt paranoid being in there, idk how to explain it. I think the store should have baskets where you can put the stones into those baskets and then check out when you're ready. Or what I did was I brought every stone I liked up to the front check out so that way I could keep them there and continue to shop. I haven't been into the store in a couple months but am willing to try it again because I do like the layout and it's very well organized. read more

This place has a lot of beautiful things to look at; crystals, orgonite, pendulums, books, and even some interesting nutritional supplements like noni powder. Everything is way overpriced, which is probably due to the ridiculously high overhead that comes with being on Main Street. They apparently do aura photography here, though I haven't tried it. I called midweek to ask about this service, and the woman I spoke to advised me to come in before 5 on Saturday, or before 4 on Sunday. I followed her advice, but when I got there, there was only one woman working in the whole store, and she said that she was too busy helping other customers to do any aura photography. She said that she never does it on the weekends, so I'm not sure why the woman I spoke to on the phone said to come in. read more

Pretty nice selection of crystals, especially some of the ones that are rare and hide to find. Kate (the owner) is extremely friendly and will order anything you want if it's not in the store. In fact, I asked for a 3 inch Lemurian seed crystal and she ordered a box full so I can select one I liked. Thanks! Kate and her employees are friendly and do not hound you or try to sell you anything. You can walk around the store, read the books, listen to the CD's, etc... as long as you want and feel comfortable. The book selection is nowhere near the size of the Bodhi Tree (this place is much smaller) but they do have enough of a variety and new releases to justify looking here before going elsewhere (I do not order metaphysical books from Amazon or go to big-box stores for them, even if they are cheaper elsewhere, and in most cases they are the same price anyway). There are a few other pretty cool odds & ends as well. On the last trip, I picked up "sleep headphones" -- comfortable headphones in a fleece headband you can wear in bed. Worked great with the Super-Sleep hemi-sync CD I bought as well. Inventory changes quite frequently too (hence the reason I keep coming back). I've also been to one of the in-store events and will attend more as they are announced. As for pricing that others complained about -- I used to own a metaphysical store in Florida a few years back, and like anything else, you get what you pay for. Some of the crystals here are cheap and inline with what most people think they should cost, but there are a few rare ones, super-sized giants, and other near-flawless stones that do justify a higher price tag. read more

I have checked out every crystal shop I could find in the Los Angeles area and not one of them had the range and variety of crystals carried by this shop. Yes, if you trust a complete stranger to choose a crystal for you then you can find them for less online, but if that's the case then you need to do some more reading on choosing crystals. As for the prices, the shop is located in a very desirable shopping area, so I'm sure the rent the owner has to pay figures into the prices she charges, but that's how business works, my friends. In any event, much of what the shop carries is very affordable, with some crystals starting as low as $1. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, no one tries to pressure you into buying anything, which is a big plus in my book. Great place, and definitely worth a visit. read more

This shop is like a portal to another world. Not only do they have the most crystals and healing stones I've ever seen in one place, but they have an extensive library as well. The place is tiny, but a treasure trove of all sorts of crystals and books, even some jewelry. You will most likely find exactly the stone that's calling you here. They seem to specialize in quartzes of all types. The prices here are a big range, but toward the higher end. You can probably find them at a less expensive rate elsewhere, but they may not be comparable in quality...(or so we're made to think...did I get glamored?) The folks there are quiet, kind of ignore you till you want to pay. Honestly I think it is the kind of place you feel a little weird just browsing in, you feel like you need to buy something, but it's not gonna be cheap getting out the door... I have not tried the healing or books, but I am told they are the real deal here. read more

They also have very large pieces, whereas many other stores only carry small to midsize pieces. I agree with one of the other reviews - no one attempted to sell anything to me, which is nice. Today was my first time visiting this shop. I saw their table at the nearby farmer's market, and decided to check out the store. Some of the items seemed to be a bit on the pricey side, but overall a good selection of spiritual items, gemstones, crystals, pendents, and books. A great find for metaphyical crystal practioners, the Aura Shop is the place to go to find a wide variety of crystals, books, and cards. While the prices on the stones may be a wee bit high, this is explained by its location, as well as the obvious effort and attention to the quality of the goods the owner procures for her patrons. You are most assuredly getting what you pay for. My recent trip yielded two books for which I had been looking, as well as a gift stone for a friend. An Oasis of love and joy! Kate the owner is wonderful. This tiny little shop is like Mary Poppins magic satchel. Whenever I am guided to acquire something, I run over, and there it is! For instance, had an amazing dream about a frog once, and decided I wanted a little statue, ran over to my favorite shop on Main, and lo and behold, a single carved frog was there for me. Pretty crystals, but don't bother with the aura photography. Went with a friend to get our auras photographed and get a full report of our chakras. I went on their website before we had gone in and was able to make an appointment. Their website says you can just get the aura photo for $18 with an appointment, or $24 without, or you can get the photo and the chakra report together for $44 total. I made an appointment to do the photo and the report together; I even got an email confirmation. When we got there, I told the woman working there that we had an appointment, and she looked confused like she wasn't aware of this, but took us to do the photo anyway. When it printed out, she just read off what was printed, there was no other insight as to what the colors meant. Plus my photo ended up looking exactly the same as my friend's, so it made me question whether their aura photography was legit. And then I said that we were also supposed to get the report along with the photo. She looked confused and said the photo itself is $18, and the report is a separate $44, which is not what it said online. There was no attempt to resolve the conflicting prices, and she didn't seem to care. There seemed to be a pretty big lack of communication between the website and the store, or maybe it was just that employee who was not informed. But if you're going to run a website, you should be aware of what it's advertising. Very misleading. read more

I've been curious about energy work (and particularly sound therapy) for a while. But I'm a skeptic, so I've never felt confident enough with any practitioners to give it a try...until I met Heather. She's an incredible yoga instructor, so I was excited to finally see why people swear by reiki and sound therapy. It was an awesome experience! I opted for the 90 minute therapy in the sound chamber-definitely the way to go as a grounding, first session-I'll likely do 60 minute sessions (periodically) moving forward. Heather used an infrared heat mat, crystals, light, these incredible bowls to emit sound, and REIKI to adjust my energy (I'm probably saying that incorrectly). It worked. I left feeling deeply rested and centered, and I will definitely be back. The shop itself is cool, with an incredible selection of crystals. The owner knows his stuff, and was happy to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with this complete newbie. I bought a small amethyst, and I've been holding it while on conference calls, sitting in traffic, whatever. I don't know how his stuff works, but it does. If you're open to it and willing to put your skepticism aside, you'll be glad you did. read more
