My husband trying glass blowing with Max, the instructor helped

Came to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fest and saw an add for a glass blowing class. My husband was a good sport and came along. We both were pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had while actually learning how to do it. Spoke with John, the owner who couldn't be more accommodating to our availability being in town just a few days. Max, our instructor was very knowledgeable and encouraging. He was very focused on safety and patient teaching us how to make both a paperweight and hot air balloon. We left very satisfied with the experience and would highly suggest anyone that's interested in trying a class there. Can't post pictures today but will after we get home and they ship them. We are leaving for home early tomorrow so they didn't have time for them to cool.

Anyone interested in glass blowing but a bit intimidated needs to take a class here. John was fantastic and talked our class through every step and made sure we had a fantastic time. Truly a unique experience and so much fun!

John was an exceptional instructor and made what would have otherwise been a nerve-wracking experience delightful, fun, and safe for both myself and my mom. I'm honestly in awe that we were able to create something so beautiful in such a small amount of time. We were each given turns to build out our glass pieces which successfully made the trip home to California! Whether you're a local or visitor, I highly encourage anyone who has ever been interested in glasswork to make a visit!

it seems like something you would do once for a special occasion, but we had so much fun we plan to go back soon and make some more things. We were in town last week and I wanted to do something Special with my daughter. I had heard about this place somewhere so I looked into it and decided it might be just that special something. We made reservations about a week out and came on in at the appointed time. John was there and introduced us to instructor(sadly I cant recall his name but he was really great). after some introductory things, like the rules, safety and how to proceed through the steps, we were off! My daughter was so great and going through all the steps to roll the glass, add glass colors and later sitting and pulling the glass into shape. I took my turn and between us we may some flowers and I got to make a paper weight that was so much more than just a weight. I already have it proudly sitting in perfect spot on a living room shelf. It is something special to bring a partner or other special person, but you may just want to go with a friend and see what creativity can be put into a glass creation.

John and max were so knowledgeable and generous with their time! They explained everything so well and I definitely want to go back.

I took the Pulling Glass Flowers - Hot Shop class this weekend. John and Max are great instructors and love what they do. I learned a lot about glasswork. It was a really incredible, unique experience. So fun! I will be back for more classes.

We booked a flower making glass with John for our anniversary and had an absolute blast. He was hands on through the whole process, guiding my partner and I through each step. Her and I worked up to making the flowers together and now have them on display in our home! John went above and beyond for our anniversary, coordinating everything with me ahead of the class, couldn't ask for more! We're planning on attending his other classes in the future.

Great classes. So much fun! John is supportive and encouraging! We were so lucky to have Jessi Yeager as a guest instructor!

I had been looking for the perfect gift for my son and his girlfriend for quite a while. When I saw that vase in the window I was so drawn to it. When I went into the gallery and met Suzanne she told me about the vase and Ira, and gave me space to get to know the vase. When I did decide that I had to buy it for my son and his girlfriend Suzanne agreed to ship it for me, but that's not all. She even wrote a very personal letter to them telling them about Ira and his background, and how the vase was made. Fortunately it arrived in San Francisco unbroken and they were delighted. Thank you Suzanne for making the whole experience so wonderful. I will come to see you whenever I am in Albuquerque.

Suzanne, the gallery's director, was nice, assertive but not overbearing, and incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. There were some nice pieces from a variety of artists, but we were completely taken by Virgil Ortiz, and ended up buying two of his large pieces. Given the gallery's modern focus with local artists, it's likely we'll be finding more pieces in the future. Definitely give this place a visit if you're in the area and interested in art.
