My doctor referred me to Rocky Mountain GI based on a report I gave her of tarry stools. After 10…read moreweeks of waiting, and a $25 copay I only got to see the physician's assistant, not the physician. After some discussion I realized that my definition of tarry stools and The medical professionals definition are different. My definition was that the toilet paper never gets clean. Although I have constant fatigue my iron levels are normal based on the fact that I take iron supplements however the physician's assistant still recommended and endoscopy and a colonoscopy because I'm anemic. I called twice to talk to the physician and was told that I couldn't speak to God Almighty unless I scheduled another appointment and paid another $25 copay. This is the same place that told my daughter that she had celiacs disease after speaking to her for 10 minutes and later retracted that as well. I don't trust this place. I think they're a racket. When you're only tools a hammer every problem looks like a nail.

Quality of care and lack of response is beyond pathetic. It's now July and I still can't get the correct meds or answers.

Great experience with both the PAs and Doctor. Endoscopy went smoothly, post-op was handled well,…read moreand my unexpected pain was quickly addressed. Both the doctor and charge nurse followed up the next day. Check-in was quick and simple, and pre-op was quick and seamless.

Ten years ago, when I first went to Gastrointestinal of the Rockies, they were a much smaller…read morepractice with only a couple of locations. At that time, my experience was straightforward and professional. After my procedure, Dr. Kaye clearly told me everything looked great, there were no polyps, and I should return in 10 years. Fast forward to recently, I was contacted by the practice and told I was "due" for another colonoscopy. I questioned this multiple times, specifically asking the scheduler to double-check the notes, because I had been told 10 years. Instead of verifying, I was firmly told I was incorrect and that their records showed I was due at 7 years. Reluctantly, I scheduled the procedure. Days before the appointment, I was informed that the physician I had specifically requested had decided to take the afternoon off. My options were to reschedule or proceed with a different doctor. Since I had already begun the prep process, I had little choice but to move forward. Here is where things become truly unacceptable: As I'm lying on the table, IV in place, the new doctor walks in and asks if I'm having any problems. I say no. He then tells me, "You're not due for a colonoscopy for another three years." This confirmed exactly what I had been saying all along. At that point--after the prep, the disruption, and already being prepped with an IV--I went through with the procedure anyway. But the fact that I was put in that position due to their internal error is inexcusable. Afterward, I made multiple attempts to contact management to understand how this happened. Not a single call was returned by anyone in a leadership position. The only outreach I ever received was from a nurse--not someone accountable for the breakdown. Only after posting a brief, non-detailed negative review (in hopes someone would respond) did I hear anything further--and that was a letter "terminating" me as a patient. The letter was not even signed by a specific individual. This practice has clearly grown, but unfortunately, the professionalism, communication, and accountability have not grown with it. Between: * Incorrect medical scheduling information * Lack of internal communication * Last-minute physician changes * Inability to reach management * And ultimately dismissing a patient rather than addressing concerns ...I cannot recommend this practice to anyone. If you value clear communication, accuracy, and accountability in your medical care, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. PS. ******** Gastroenterology of the Rockies has a mixed to largely negative reputation, with many patient reviews highlighting significant administrative issues, long hold times, and poor communication, leading to low ratings on Yelp (often 2.5 stars or less). While some patients report positive experiences with specific doctors, others complain about disorganized care and difficult scheduling, particularly in the Boulder, Longmont, and Denver locations.******

This is one of the most respectful, knowledgeable, and intuitive doctors I have ever had the privilege of being seen by. I moved to Boulder several years ago and if he wasn't so far away, I would keep going there. I've only met one other doctor in the entire state of Colorado that has his incredible sense and instinct in bedside manner. He's a once in a lifetime physician, especially if you're struggling with things that nobody else can seem to diagnose or treat. For all of these people on here they gave him a one star review for whoever ever answered his phone, SHAME ON YOU! There are very sick patients out there that need this man and just because your feelings got hurt because someone didn't bow down to you when you made a telephone call is absolutely zero reason to give a one star review! Apparently that's the thing to do on our society these days. I will continue to give him five star reviews once a month until his rating goes back up to where it deserves to be. You literally will not find a better physician in Colorado!

There are a lot of old and very negative reviews here - well, I had a C procedure done here today…read moreand definitely 5 star, with some mild caveats. First, I'd tell anyone this is a fine practice and encourage them to use them, based on my one experience. I was referred a few weeks ago by my doc, I'm 72, have 2 C's done, the last showed polops. So he referred me here and within a week or so they contacted me to begin the scheduling and information sharing process - health records, etc. That part was a little bumpy but, fine. Good enough. I was scheduled for 8:30 check in today with Dr. Pritchard and they had informed me thoroughly way in advance on the 'prep procedure',, we all know what that entails (no pun intended). Very thorough and detailed, etc. I felt well advised and prepared. I followed them to the letter. Ugh. Checked in at 8:30, the only negative being a little lack of signage that Endoscopy Center is Rockies etc office, and there's no receptionist in that office. No big deal. But there was a plethora of signage so the critical information was a bit buried. The folks already in the waiting room laughed when, like everyone else, I wandered around the reception area a bit lost as to what to do. Ok, button buzzer on the wall. Hit it, a young man appeared and off to the races. Super friendly and efficient! I was put in a nice super clean bathroom with necessary dressing gown and socks, a bag for my clothes, and when I walked out immediately ushered to one of those tented beds, there were lots, it's a bustling place. Devin hooked me up to machines, Maggie did a great job getting the needle in painlessly for the drip, and she and another sharp, friendly, professional and efficient young lady began the usual questionnaire with her ipad. I loved it when they told me I'd be filled with air and should fart as needed. Again, I've had two of these before at different hospitals and all were good experiences. But the man next to me who I heard being interviewed for his 8th, 12th C scope?? I don't remember but I do remember he was born Aug 18, 1941 - and had a section of his colon removed in one of those - has chosen this practice which gave me confidence. Soon, rolled into the op room, again very efficient, got my drip, rolled on my side and was in gaga land. Woke up back in my tent area, Dr. Prichard told me the results, done. They called my wife, done, outa there.

I wish I could have my procedure elsewhere, but with Medicaid, I don't have a choice! I am shocked…read morethat this business actually has 2 1/2 stars, because if I could, I wouldn't give it any stars! I had a colonoscopy scheduled for 9am, but they called me back and told me they would have to reschedule it to 2pm, because they ONLY DO MEDICAID PATIENTS AT THAT TIME. What kind of BS is that, for heaven's sake?? Because I have government provided insurance, I get to suffer longer, with no food the entire day before and no food until after the procedure??? I cannot believe this place! I wish I could go anywhere else.
