In pre-op when the RN was attempting to start an IV, she caused a venous rupture and had to start over in a different vein. They put me under during the procedure but had to take me out of anesthesia in the middle of the procedure because my O2 stats declined to 90%. They continued the procedure which means I felt everything they were doing in my bowels and the doctor wasn't gentle by any means. She knew that I was awake at this point. When they woke me up there were no reassuring words of comfort, I was just told to sit tight. I was so confused and had no idea where I was, I just felt a lot of pain as they continued the procedure. When I woke up, I was no longer receiving oxygen through the nasal cannula which is highly concerning. It was the most horrifying and painful experiences I have ever had and I will definitely not be going back.

After some discussion I realized that my definition of tarry stools and The medical professionals definition are different. My definition was that the toilet paper never gets clean. Although I have constant fatigue my iron levels are normal based on the fact that I take iron supplements however the physician's assistant still recommended and endoscopy and a colonoscopy because I'm anemic. I called twice to talk to the physician and was told that I couldn't speak to God Almighty unless I scheduled another appointment and paid another $25 copay. This is the same place that told my daughter that she had celiacs disease after speaking to her for 10 minutes and later retracted that as well. I don't trust this place. I think they're a racket. When you're only tools a hammer every problem looks like a nail.

I was scheduled for 8:30 check in today with Dr. Pritchard and they had informed me thoroughly way in advance on the 'prep procedure',, we all know what that entails (no pun intended). Checked in at 8:30, the only negative being a little lack of signage that Endoscopy Center is Rockies etc office, and there's no receptionist in that office. No big deal. The folks already in the waiting room laughed when, like everyone else, I wandered around the reception area a bit lost as to what to do. Ok, button buzzer on the wall. Hit it, a young man appeared and off to the races. Super friendly and efficient! I was put in a nice super clean bathroom with necessary dressing gown and socks, a bag for my clothes, and when I walked out immediately ushered to one of those tented beds, there were lots, it's a bustling place. Devin hooked me up to machines, Maggie did a great job getting the needle in painlessly for the drip, and she and another sharp, friendly, professional and efficient young lady began the usual questionnaire with her ipad. I loved it when they told me I'd be filled with air and should fart as needed. Again, I've had two of these before at different hospitals and all were good experiences. But the man next to me who I heard being interviewed for his 8th, 12th C scope?? I don't remember but I do remember he was born Aug 18, 1941 - and had a section of his colon removed in one of those - has chosen this practice which gave me confidence. First off, my primary care physician put through the referral towards the end of 2025. GOTR (Gastroentrology of the Rockies) NEVER contacted me to set up the endoscopy. I called them in January to follow-up. They advised they NEVER received the referral and my Primary care Dr had to put through another request. Again, not received. Finally able to set up an appointment in February. The earliest appointment I could booked was in June. :-( AND... It wasn't even for the Endoscopy. It was a pre-endoscopy appointment. The endoscopy was preformed in July. There was ZERO interaction with the Doctor after the procedure. I was supposed to have a follow-up appointment this month. BUT... I received a text message that the provider who I was supposed to meet with left the practice and I would need to reschedule. When I called to reschedule, in August, the earliest they could get me scheduled was DECEMBER!!!! WTF?! Seriously?! So... I opted to schedule an appointment with my primary care physician instead. I'm seeing him on Friday. Today, I called RMG, as I haven't been able to access the results of the endoscopy + they never sent the results to my primary care physician. I was advised that I had to request the results for GOTR to be sent to me. They also advised they sent the result to my primary care physician (PCP). After further probing (which was truly painful), it was determined they sent the results to a doctor who hasn't been my PCP for over a year!!!! In reviewing the results, the document was addressed to the WRONG primary care physician. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?! The correct PCP was the Dr who referred me... To me... This is incompetency at its finest! They CLEARLY DO NOT CARE!!! ALL OF THE ABOVE was DRASTICALLY different than the experience I had with a Colonoscopy I had performed at the same location in 2025.
