Unfortunately, I have to share a rather negative experience in the urgent care facility because it was upsetting.
It was a very busy night, long wait but fortunately I had scheduled an appointment earlier. It was obvious the staff was very busy/a bit frazzled - no problem. When I saw Dr. King, she was very skeptical of my symptoms over the last week and a half. You could see it on her face. It was upsetting. At one point she exclaimed I should go to the ER (why?) and when I said I felt very dehydrated she shouted that there was a nationwide IV shortage. (I'm sorry, I didn't know?) For the next hour and a half, I just kept apologizing for it being so busy and that I was creating more work for them. Dr. King made me feel like I was overreacting and silly for asking for help. I left I tears. I cannot decipher why the doctor was acting like this/treating me like this.
Of course, I was called 15 minutes after I got home with a positive test for COVID.....
I have never felt so poorly about asking for medical help before. On a more positive note, though, nursing staff is very kind.
It's important to note these are my personal feelings and opinions but valid none the less. read more
