Terrible Birth Experience-I was so hopeful and wanting to love this place but leaving with birth trauma and regret. After attending their birth classes and baby classes as a first time mom I was feeling confident even though things with Dr were not great (felt rushed and not listened or cared for). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was told by my Dr their staff would talk to me about birth preferences, wishes, and concerns because they may not be the one delivering the baby.... That never happened[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] During my labor the following happened [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff was not supportive,encouraging, helpful- it was cold the interactions and they couldn't care less[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Dr on call and nurses were audibly sighing and not actively speaking or assisting me during the labor[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was no explanation on what and why things were being done to me - for example if not in an emergency situation why was a catheter used on me and not give me the chance/option to use a bed pan? Especially as I was unmedicated?? Went to ER concerned about dizziness and tightness in chest. Waited over 5 hours and did not see a doctor. We notified them I felt as though I was having a heart attack. The nurses did some triage at that time. I was then sent back to the waiting area which was full so I had to sit in the entrance where they keep the wheelchairs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After waiting more in the cold I checked in with the front desk and I was told there were several people ahead of me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I asked if it would be another three to four hours. She nodded. I told them I was leaving to get care someone where else. They then proceeded to lie in my charts and indicate I did not tell anyone I was leaving. The leadership there needs to increase staffing. The city of Kenosha needs to get another hospital here. The closure of the one downtown is over running the two that are left. the PA that I saw at the ER was so mean to me. I have never had worse customer service than here. Will not come back. The PA didn't once look at me the entire time I was in the ER. He spoke to me and not once looked at my face. The nurses were overly nice to try to make up for his rudeness but unfortunately this is not worth it for me. Aurora Summit employees violate civil rights by not understanding the American Disability Act. This is NOT acceptable. Disabled people should NOT have to fight for their basic rights. Common people questioning and inserting themselves into your personal business is one thing, and businesses not being familiar with ADA code is already below par, but medical facilities and employees being ignorant to these laws is absolutely unacceptable. Not a day goes by that we aren't questioned or asked intrusive questions about our service dogs and personal challenges. We have learned to set boundaries and that we do not need to answer these questions, however having our rights flagrantly violated is unacceptable. Today, we attended an appointment at the Aurora Summit medical center; minding our business, sitting isolated and completely away from other patients, we were making the best of the situation, petting our dogs and trying to keep our minds calm (as you can see below). Shortly after, our comfort and peace of mind were taken away from us. We were approached by an ignorant clinic manager and security guard, who attempted to intimidate us, stating they had "concerns about the dogs," that we weren't allowed to have a service dog without "first giving them a heads up," and that they were most concerned about other patients' potential allergies to dogs than our needs to have service dogs in the first place. They spewed utter false information, violated ADA code in doing so, and made an already stressful visit excruciating. The security guard condescended us and treated us like criminals, even "escorting" us to the radiology department, despite our blatant questioning of the need for this behavior. The doctors and medical assistants who then assisted us from that department were cold and distant, clearly just gossiping about this unnecessary situation that transpired before entering the room. We just want to be able to utilize our right to have assistance in our daily living, but instead are often presented with more stressors due to others triggering us and not being informed of ADA laws. We shouldn't have to fight for our rights and deal with needless confrontation, yet we do. We have to recite laws and codes to protect ourselves and rehearse responses to commonly asked invasive questions which catch us off guard and make us incredibly uncomfortable. Please keep your curiosity to yourself and do not impose your questions on disabled people unless you receive consent to do so. Just because someone's disability isn't obviously observable doesn't mean it doesn't exist. We are not your science experiments to dissect and we do not owe you the disclosure of our health information. I sincerely hope and pray the NICU at Aurora Medical Center is investigated thoroughly regarding the policies and procedures placing children on feeding tubes unnecessarily. Feeding tubes can cause serious issues. Based on my own eye witness account the NICU nurses attending my grand daughters birth were consistently doing things that forced her to cry so that it caused Emma to have breathing issue from the excessive crying. I mean She was wailing. Things that I witnessed were disturbing and even though born early at a good weight and could suck from a bottle was consistently put on a feeding tube and forced to eat the rest of her mother's milk with a fortifier through the tube. Therefore also stretching her tiny stomach and intestines. They were consistently increasing the ml she had to take in so she could leave graduate the NICU. She had no health issues except having to be under a light for jaundice for a very short time on oxygen which they intentionally caused with Emma's continued forced cries in various ways. I am very angry with this hospital and the methods which cause hardships for parents and raise insurance rates... called price gouging. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I hate what happened to my daughter and granddaughter at Aurora[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I can only imagine the damage to other babies and mothers as well. I walked into the emergency room with a serious back problem. Aurora had a P.A. diagnose me a sciatica nerve problem then he had a physical therapist come in and she determined i had one leg one half inch shorter than the other leg so she decided to pull the shorter leg hard to gain the half inch. I was given an antiflamitory and sent home. Little to say I barely made it back to my car in the parking lot. After a couple of days of Excruciating pain I went to comp. Ortho Urgent care and found out I actually have a herniated disk in L3 that effects all the nerves in my legs making it almost impossible to walk. Aurora had no problem charging me over $1700 for doing nothing for me other than making my problem worse! When I explained what they had done to me they knocked $300 off the bill but, wanted full payment. I let them know I could pay monthly $50 because I was paying $600 a month for the therapy they took three months of $50 then turned me into collections. If you are in bad shape this is the last hospital you want to go to! You'll probably get a P.A.! If a doctor would had seen me he would had known it was a disk problem not a sciatic nerve. They give you a P.A, and charge you for a doctor. read more

If you need respiratory care , this is not the place to go. Lack of doctors, you will get a PA and nurse that do not respond promptly to your requests. PA said the bipap could be converted to a cpap on the same machine. It could not so this shows you how much she knows . Our C-pap supplier has called them twice for a script for a specific mask. VERY unprofessional and rude. then proceeded to snap when I simply asked how long the wait was For my sick partner. people like that should NOT be working in health care. They shook up the other local hospitals and for quite awhile they were the best. Then a few years back they merged with Advocate Hospital System in Illinois. Everything went downhill FAST. Now I wouldn't even take a neighbor's pet that I didn't like to be put down there. To make matters worse, now AdvocateAurora is going to merge with a hospital system in Georgia/ South Carolina area. I took my girlfriend here because she has had a high fever and headaches for the past 3-4 days. They took forever to get her checked in and even longer to do tests. We have been here for over 2 hours and left with no results or diagnosis. They gave her a pregnancy test and did not even ask if she was sexually active which was very strange. A trip that should've taken 30-45 minutes lasted over two hours. You are better off going to the CVS minute clinic, they will give you a diagnosis and take a 1/4 of the time! I was referred by my primary care dr to Dr Park because I have not been able to eat a good meal in over 6 months. Diareah and bloated. Has Colonoscopy, CT scan, Gull bladder test, ultrasound and many blood work and stool samples. Put on antibiotics, probiotic and other meds to try and fix. I told this Doctor that during the Gull Bladder test I felt like I was going to crap my pants and after the test I had pain for 5 hours on my right side of my stomach. This Dr asked if the pain went away and tried to prescribe me antibiotics again and realized that I had to tell him he already did. I went to GI associates and the Dr there said my symptoms are signs that the Gull bladder is not working properly and the test could be normal and it still be a problem. I recommend going to GI Associates vs Aurora Hospital. read more

I don't know what is with the massive amount of one star ratings. Everyone here was super nice to me. Got me in AND out super quickly. I even only had my vision/dental card (thought I'd put the medical in my wallet. Gack!) and not my regular medical insurance card and they did not care. (It was new insurance. Otherwise, the right one had been in there forever.) Sent me right back. They didn't harass me for payment or the insurance number when I couldn't find it in my emails. (It was Saturday night and insurance offices were closed.) i only had the name of the insurance. The admittance lady just gave me their card to get it to them on Monday. Was seen right away by the triage nurse, then the regular nurse and finally the doctor. All very friendly. The doctor took care of me 1,2,3 as soon as she walked in. Didn't leave and come back. Everyone took my info from me without insisting on old medical records or anything. I had moved here recently and was still in the process (unsuccessful) of finding a new primary physician. I was pretty worried they wouldn't take my word on what meds I'd been on. No one was judgmental with me letting anything lapse. They just went about making sure my scripts (including an antibiotic for the issue I came in to treat) were updated with enough time to find that new primary physician. Such a relief since it's been a struggle finding an office that will call back a potential new patient. They sent me home with a doctor's office that called me right away but were, unfortunately, over the boarder in Illinois and my insurance is oddly strict. Even though I live right at the boarder, I can only get Wisconsin doctors unless there's a procedure up here that's not done. Then you have to get a referral and you can go below border. So weird. And yes. I doubled checked today after a few doctors offices that the Doctor Referral Service of the hospital gave me wouldn't fit me in within a few days as told to do by my discharge papers. Even told that they wouldn't because of "scheduling" and being a new patient. Well, I guess NOT a new patient now. Anyway, that's a whole other story and saga. (Yes. I mentioned needing ER follow up within days, not weeks, and they didn't care.) The point being they got me out of there quickly. And TRIED to get me set up for immediate follow up and a primary physician. They can't help that my insurance is so weird and that there are uncaring doctor's offices out there. The only reason for a star off is that what the doctor thinks is going to go down for follow up and what you're told by the nurses is different. read more

The resources available span across the state and not just in the community. They do a wonderful job of making the stress of a hospital stay easy on you and your loved one. All services are available. Emergency care is 24/7 and there is also a walk-in urgent clinic where you can make an appointment. Doctors offices are also located on the clinic side. Within the hospital, everything from a medical surgical to ICU care beds are available. Nurses are well trained and professional. Administration is very hands-on. Also important, the cafeteria food is good! A great facility serving the local community. read more

We came here because my husband had super high blood pressure (which is obviously bad). Staff here were very helpful and nice. No complaints. I have had a serious nerve issue thru my spine since April 4. Got hold of my family doctor on April 17. My doctor was out of town and supposedly his back up notified. No feed back what so ever. Seen my doctor on April 27 thru a regularly scheduled visit. X-ray and MRI assigned. No one ever contacted me on scheduling the MRI and I finally called. Took 4 weeks to get in for MRI. Based on MRI it was determined that I see an Orthopedist . My doctors office referred me to someone who did not accept my insurance. I had to find myself a doctor in my network. Orthopedist recommended seeing Pain Management. Right now it will be 2 months wait time.I seriously need to consider a different health organization read more

If you have a terminal loved one in their last hours, this hospital is very accommodating. They went out of their way for the family members and kept my mother comfortable until the end. However if you go to the emergency room and are in severe pain do NOT expect much assistance. Pain management is definitely not a strong point. I was in severe pain for hours-I can't swallow even my own saliva, and after 2.5 hours their solution to the severe pain was to hand me pills! I am now sobbing in pain so half an hour later I was finally given a shot for the pain and prescriptions for more pills. Oh, and to see a specialist in a few weeks read more

My father was brought in with shortness of breath, a blood pressure of 88/42, and multiple health issues. It took 22 minutes to get into a room in the ER,1 hour to get a breathing treatment, and a second hour to get oxygen only after begging. Only to find that the doctor said you'll be "better served" at another hospital. we were told he had to be transported by ambulance. After a four hour wait with updates saying they're waiting to hear back. I called the hospital he's being transported to and they've been ready for over two hours waiting for him. the ER staff took it as a personal insult when it was brought to their attention. my father and I have the utmost respect for healthcare professionals. 3 stars is an average of the following services based on my family's experiences in last few months at Aurora Kenosha Hospital: ***** Same Day Surgery - Very friendly, caring, knowledgeable, respectful, and communicative staff. (Note: This review is only based on one procedure.) * Urgent Care (Walk-in) Clinic - Great online scheduling, 50/50 on friendly, caring, knowledgeable, respectful, and communicative staff. We've been pleased with one doc and one PA or Nurse Practitioner we've seen there a few times, but we are not fans of the Asian Indian or Pakistani who barely spends time with us and doesn't seem to listen to us. He told me to do yoga for some bad back pain that was hampering my sleep. Really?!!! Also, I went there after a car accident to get checked out and at the front desk they said I had to go to the ER, but were unwilling to call to find out the wait time. When I got upset (not rude, but stressed after my accident) they walked away from the front desk and refused to help me. Unbelievable!!! That brought them from what was *** to *! ** ER - Based in recent experience, Aurora ER won't give out wait times, which helped them earn the ** (but St. Cats will), so that is bogus. My 18yo daughter drover herself there as she was feeling very sick as we were in Milwaukee. They triaged her and put her in the waiting room where I found her 45 minutes later burning up to my touch. I asked at the checkin desk if they could take her temp, but they said that was already done during triage. Yes, but that can change, right?! So, they wouldn't take her temp, or give her anything to help her, so I gave her ibuprofen I had with me. (Meanwhile, an older lady puked in a bag in the waiting area and they still wouldn't see her immediately! Good grief!) After 2+ hours, we did see a very helpful male nurse and male doc (forgot names). Only issue is that prescribed Rx was sent to a closed pharmacy rather than a 24-hour one and now their app reports to be out of stock of the med so am spending the morning having an ER doc change that to another pharmacy. Casey, the ER Coordinator, was very helpful with this. (Note: We would have gone to the St. Cats ER, but they straightforwardly told us the wait was 4-hours. Bonus points to them for being forthcoming.) *** App - A nice app that is pretty easy to use, but doesn't always produce all the info needed for upcoming doc appts. Have gone to United Hospital for years but I have switched to Aurora Hospital! Their ER is great and staff is wonderful with you! Found a family doctor that can admit me at Aurora. Walk in is fast and staff is easy to talk with! Most of my doctors from United are now practicing in Aurora System. read more
