I had a friend that lived across the street from this park for years and just recently had a family reunion in one of their rec rooms. Big open space, nice meeting rooms for not a lot of dough and it has lots of recreation options. Plus you can hook up to a couple trails from here (High Line and one other - can't remember the name).

There is a port-a-potty in the parking lot as well as a clean restroom in the Recreation Center. I only noticed one trash can and it was noticeably full of bottle and beer cans along all 18 holes with regular trash. The course is wide open with a few small trees. Quite a few little streams and small lakes to dip into. This was my first disc course that I have reviewed in the Denver area so I'm not sure how to compare. I am also just an average and semi-avid disc golfer. Check out the pictures I took for the best feel.

I went to watch a senior softball game, so some people had difficulty getting from the lot on University down to the ball field. Another issue that surprised me was that the ball field was not very well kept. Although chalk outlines were new, the bases were not securely affixed to the ground, and there were uneven areas, including some holes. This caused some players to fall.

It has multiple playgrounds, ball fields, tennis courts and pavilions. Motorized traffic can enter on University street next to Goodson Rec Center. Pedestrians and Bicycles can use the popular Highland Canal Trail that intersects and traverses several sections of the park. I really enjoy every time I come here and intend to come here much more.

There was and still is, a splash pad here, and we would bring picnic lunches and meet friends for a fun day. This time it looks like a remodel/expansion took place, as I noticed how big it's gotten when I was here for a quiet evening walk. I bet when the weather is nice, it is crowded all the time! I'd bring my kids here if they were still little. Looks very friendly, open, and accessible to everyone as I noted the stairs as well as ramps on my walk.

I like to sit on the…read morelittle hillock under the tall trees and take a breath after events at nearby Koelbel Library. Castlewood Park is easy to get to from Orchard or Belleview on Holly Street. There is a large meadow with lush grass that is a perfect field for a pick up game of volleyball, soccer or ultimate frisbee. The next time you are running around and grabbing food, bring it here and sit at the one picnic table. I've never seen more than one other car here although there is ample parking. It's a Pokemon stop in case that gets you here for an actual stop.

The park is well shaded with tons of large trees which makes it actual pleasant to be at on hot days. There's no parking but you can cross the street and easily connect to walking trails to connect to other parks.

But once you are there, it is a magical place filled with flower beds, a small playground and a small basketball court. The Dayton street entrance has a gate and the back entrance winds up a small hill and goes into a residential neighborhood. Just another great place to visit in the city of Greenwood Village.
