The skate park is isolated from the rec center and just as spacious. It appears to have been sectioned off by skill level. The farthest North section is comprised of 4 small but good depth beginner bowls, and a couple short ramps with short rails. This is a great area to practice basic skills and get your confidence up. The other two areas are actually quite challenging and appear to be out of the amateur range. They look like blue/ black runs look to me on the slopes. The bowls are deep, the ramps are steep and the rails are long and have differing grades and levels. The speed is high and actually looks a bit dangerous. My 5 yr old spent most of his time in the beginner bowl area, and then ventured to the middle section, but never ventured into the danger zone. It looked like a great place to film a documentary on skateboarding which moves from beginners to advanced/ expert level skateboarders. My biggest concern was: not one child had on a helmet except for my son and this is literally an accident waiting to happen.

There's a peacefulness here that sneaks up on you--whether you're circling the water, catching the mountain view in the distance, or just lying in the grass while the breeze moves through the trees. It's calm without being dull. Designed but not overdone. The kind of park that locals love and visitors remember. Westlands doesn't shout--it just quietly reminds you what a good day feels like.

Then I came here a few weeks ago to play pickleball and was surprised to see they spruced up the space. They have a huge playground area and little walking path around the water. Two pickleball courts outside and actual restrooms vs sorta-potties along with a lot of parking. Little hidden gem!

Needless to say Parker's old skatepark was TERRIBLE! There were a few banks with huge cracks at the bottom, and a box in the middle of the park that was burned down several times. Also the place wasn't safe, there was one instance of a kid getting beat with a baseball bat, and I'm pretty sure I saw some sort of drug deal go down there when i was 10 or 11. But, finally in 2008 Parker decided to upgrade their skate scene to get those trouble makers off the streets. Boy! Did they succeed! There is so much I can say, so I'll just start out with, This skatepark kicks ass. It's got a little bowl for the youngsters, a big bowl, good flow, sick stairs and rails, ledges galore, Bob's Hot Dog's, and plenty of flat land so you can perfect your flippy tricks. Bottom line, hurry over to this skatepark as soon as you can so you can shred it up :) Helpful tip: If you are going to hit the ledges make sure they aren't too slippery, you know how the kiddos love to wax them up hardcore.

I made my way from Baker to Greenway / Westerly Creek Park on my quest to visit every park in…read moreDenver. The visit was in April 2021, and this chilly day was perfect for making a lap around. The trails are very well kept and there is very little incline, so anyone can enjoy Greenway. There are a couple cool little playgrounds (one has a small climbing wall for the little ones), plenty of seating, lavatories, and water fountains. Nice place, and my meandering lap was just about two miles. I'm sure it's even nicer in the spring or summer when that creek is babbling!

But if you follow some directions, i.e. I-25 South to West (right) on Hampden (Hwy 285) to South (left) on Federal Blvd to West (right) on Oxford Ave. Turn right at the first driveway after Hazel CT. This is the entrance to Sheridan High School. Follow the parking lot, take a right, go along at side of the school, turn left into the Skatepark parking lot. This park is also known as Sheridan Community Park because its located at North of Sheridan Recreation Center's parking lot. There is also a Playground and Sheridan Recreation Center nearby. Hubs and I were here coz Hubs wanted to skate. That evening was on Friday August 23rd 2013. Yes, the Skate Park have a couple of rails, a decent size to skate around without bumping to another skater what nots. There is a shelther nearby too. But when we were there, unfortunately the Washroom available at this Community Skate Park were locked. Nevertheless, we dont mind returning when needed. I am a little confused coz for one, when its in GOOGLE Maps, this Skate Park is mapped as Sheridan, CO 80110, while through the South Suburban Parks and Recreation website, this Skate Park is labeled as, in Denver, CO 80236. @177/2013

If you're more into street, it's quite limited. There are a couple stairs to jump down and a couple ledges and rails, but not much else. The skate park is on the small side and a lot of people enjoy skating the same things (mini bowl and the ramps in the middle of the park) so if there are +5 people, it can start to feel crowded.

I have so many great memories at Olympic Park that I couldn't possibly share them all here…read more There is lots of parking here and you can always tell when there are softball games or kids soccer practices because they will fill up. However, most of the time there is a lot more open spots to the left. I am currently in a softball league in which the games are held here at Olympic. The fields are always immaculate, but they are only used for games. If you want to have a practice there are other fields nearby. There are also sand volleyball courts behind the softball fields which are always nice to use and usually aren't packed. As this park is right next to the elementary school that I went to, I remember having several field days out on the large field. In the winter, I remember my family and I sledding down the snow filled hills and running back up to go again. There are so many things that you can do here. You can bring your dog to run around, have a nice quiet picnic or even have a birthday party. I seriously can't say enough good things about Olympic Park. The grass is so green and there is just something so special about this neighborhood park.
