George Wallace Park is such a great spot, especially for a walk with the dog! It's a family favorite spot to visit! The loop is big and has a little bit of everything--open grassy areas, picnic tables, and even workout equipment along the path that lots of people were using. We stopped at the playground during our walk--it's small but fun and has all the essentials like a slide, swings, and monkey bars, which was perfect for a quick play. There's a nice area with a water fountain and picnic tables on one end of the loop, great for relaxing. Plenty of street parking, which is always a plus. And in the winter, the hills are awesome for sledding! A super versatile park that's great year-round. read more

George M Wallace was one of the founding fathers in the development of the Denver Technology Center and he developed this park because he believed that technology and nature could live together. This is a beautiful large park that proves that he was right. This park that sits in the heart of the DTC has walking/biking trails, picnic tables, playground for the kids, water features and other geometric art pieces that seem to blend seamlessly in with the surroundings. This park is near where I used to sometimes work a 6 am to 8 pm shift for days at a time. It was energizing to get out of the office and avoid people at lunch for some fresh air instead. Not that I usually eat people for lunch at the office, but it's a great park for an outdoor workout. . Besides the fitness equipment, the park sits at an incline throughout. I found if edging towards a mental breakdown, I could walk up and down these hills until my phone said I climbed 50 flights of stairs, then I felt much better. If I ate some Go! dark chocolate covered espresso beans from 1906 edibles or a piece of an Incredibles Affogato bar and after work and did this I would turn into a hill climbing weed robot and stop counting. I have to take a star away from this park even though it is no fault of the park that at times I've been overwhelmed with the amount of dog turds on the periphery I imagine DTC stands for dog turd corridor rather than Denver Tech Center. George Wallace Park doesn't really deserve the loss of a star because shitty people don't pick up after their dogs. Not sure if you want to hear the creative solutions I came up with while climbing the hill but they need to hire a turd ranger who hides behind trees, publicly shames these people, and collects steep fines used to solve homelessness in zip codes where they are trying to prevent hoards of people from sleeping and defecating in the park. The puzzling thing about this widespread human behavior, is that tax dollar money in this park provides top of the line dog poop bags at locations throughout the park and has ample waste containers. The bags are double reinforced on the business-end, providing the hand an extra layer of protection. This would be a great place for an late-night adult sledding league, except I could see reasons it could piss off the neighbors. Took my adult child there one evening after a fresh snow and avoided all the small children and their parents the next day. What a blast! read more

What more could you want from a park!!!! With its winding walking trail and grassy fields to its cascading waterfalls there is not much you can't like about it. It's the kind of park that you see in movies with scenic townscapes, water features, and a nice area for a picnic!! read more

Why hello little oasis of a park tucked right in the middle of the DTC! We were actually on our way to another park and drove past Wallace Park and decided to stop off there instead. They have a decent number of picnic tables where you don't feel like your on top of other people, great place to have a picnic or hang out! I had my pup with me and it was the perfect spot to bring him--open space, nice trail (with a map to boot), lots of other friendly pups around and poop bags galore! There weren't a lot of people here on a Friday night but just enough that you would run into someone every now and then. My pup and I will be back soon! read more

The only time I go to Wallace Park is one of those rare denver snow days. When I can head out with my son. The snow is deep enough to sled on. . .and not so overtly cold to cause discomfort. With Denver often hitting 50 after a snowstorm (turning snow runs into ice chutes) I don't sled a lot. Yet Wallace Park always hits the spot. It is a nice long scenic park in the heart of DTC. On one side businesses on the other residential. The sledding hill is on S Wabash St and Union Street There is a playground but there are nicer playgrounds nearbye (Westlands park, Orchard/SIlo park, Centennial City Center park) that we only come here for sledding. read more

Looking for an easy, chill park close to our DTC hotel, we came across Wallace Park. What a nice, random oasis tucked in between a quiet neighborhood and some office buildings. We started walking around the paved perimeter and surprisingly didn't even finish the entire loop - this park actually kinda goes on longer than you think which would've been perfect if we had a bit more time. Well-manicured grass and lots of trees everywhere, even some fun mini waterfall blocks at a few spots. Perfect for a quick breath of fresh air in the middle of your day, or a nice walk for the pups (we saw quite a few people doing this). Would definitely come back here and start where we left off on the path and see what else is in this park. read more

Awesome park! Well kept always. Good for a hike, or picnic. Lots of ways you can go, different routes... it's a good time. It's a few minutes from the house, and is the best place for fresh air in the neighborhood. Makes you feel better about the day... if you work or live near here, you should just go sit n relax a minute. read more

What a great find in DTC! This is a spacious and well maintained park with paved walking paths, lots of green grass, shady mature trees and well placed picnic tables. It's a wonderful place to walk your dog, let your kids run around or just sit down and enjoy a good book. You can make your walk long or short depending on the circuit you choose. The park has more hills than most so those in the mood for a more rigorous walk or run could easily make it happen here. My dog and I were in awe with the all the open space and loved the paved paths for walking. For such a beautiful park I'm surprised it's not busier. Everything about this park is well thought out from the accessible parking, the placement of trashcans, and the availability of poop bags at strategic locations. When I need a more relaxing walk with the dog, Wallace Park will be on the top of my list. read more

Right in the heart of the DTC is the surprisingly large Wallace Park, a rather nice retreat from the office building. This park has all of the qualities I look for in a park: picnic tables, no geese, lots of shady trees, and a path spanning through and around it. It's never very busy, except in the winter when Cherry Creek School District gets a snow day and you can see kids sledding down one of the larger hills from our office window. Oh right, the hills. Because of them, this park makes for the perfect bootcamp location (free on Mondays at 4:30, a go-your-own-pace circuit). During this hour, you'll see adults sprinting up and down the hills and finding spots among these raised block things to do step-ups and modified mountain climbers and push-ups. Also easy parking around the perimeter of the park and ample sidewalks from the neighboring office buildings. read more

*singing* the hills are aliiiiiiivveee with the sound of... wheezing...lots and lots of wheezing. This is the park to go to to run hills. I started frequenting the park when my son was in high school since the park was part of their workout regimen. Then, my son hipped me to iceblocking here (yea, we get bored). oh...I also learned how to rollerblade here. *so many memories* The park has many trees to enjoy, lounge under, and so on. I never see a whole bunch of people here at once like I do in Rosamond Park. Not really sure why that is since I think there is more available parking. Maybe it is the hills that scare them since you have to basically climb up out of a bowl to get back to your vehicle. Those hills are no joke. I almost died trying to run one. Really. Not like I'm a star athlete but even the Creek football, basketball, rugby & wrestling teams have difficultes after a few sets. However, the challenge is what makes this park so awesome. They do have a small playground, a creek-like structure (not like a Rosamond, though, which is way cooler to me- the creek, I mean), concrete sidewalks throughout and benches. It does have a mosh area that can be a little freaky when you are walking along that side of the park at night. Just don't get too close. Swamp Thing isn't what he used to be. read more

Wow this park is a fat one! Runs also at long distances, surrounded by many singing green trees!!!! Lovely idea to bring your children and teach them about Mother Earth and why we should protect it. The sidewalks are only there for show, because upon noticing the hills, nobody wants to walk by the standard rule of thumb-- just roll down the hills and everything will be alright!!! This is one of the best parks in Denver. I live nearby and enjoy the 10 minute walk over with my dog. This large park is well maintained and located in the heart of the DTC. The north side has an overlook of the local buildings along with picnic tables to rest at. My favorite time of year is in the fall when the park shows off some yellow and red. This is a hidden gem unknown to many except those of us in the neighborhood. Give it a try once. read more

We always saw this little gem while driving by on Dtc blvd. we finally stopped the other day, and I'm so glad we did. It's super quiet and generally the playground is empty. We have been in a quest to find new and different playgrounds, and this has become my toddlers favorite. We love westlands, but it gets so insanely crazy busy with kids. Not this one. There are two or three slides on a larger playground structure and some swings. What a great find. read more

I live adjacent to the park in the residential area called "Pine Valley". I walk my small leashed dog regularly in the park. I was shocked and dismayed yesterday morning (3.25.14) to discover the doggy poop bags dispensers had all been removed. This act of cost saving or whatever seems incredibly short sighted. Without the plastic bag stations I fear that a large majority of canine owners may neglect picking up after their dogs. In addition to the eyesores and unsanitary step hazards there are other considerations. The removal of the bag stations may also contribute to the accumulation of large amounts of solid waste and negatively impact the quality of run-off water. I contacted the City of Denver Parks (720.913.0642) and left a message related to my concerns. It's my understanding that the city owns the park, but that "Inverness/DTC" maintains the grounds. I'd like to contact Inverness/DTC to try to understand the rational for the bag stations removal. Maybe I'm missing something here? If there is a number or site please let me know so I can find out what is going on. Ken L. read more
