The first time I went it was so powerful I could stop crying which never happens. The message will touch your soul. I felt something in that church that I never felt in any big one I'm broke and struggling right now after many failed attempts of starting a business but I can't wait to donate & volunteer when I make it out of this rut. I love everything about this church. I thought they would judge when I just came as I was because that was my experience with churches They leave the prayer barn unlocked, when I run I just wander exploring my area more and this time I stumbled into there. After looking around for a while I fell to my knees and for the first time in Lord knows how long prayed. There's something different about this church and you can feel and see it. I first went to austin christian fellowship at river place in may of 2012, I continued to attend every saturday afternoon service, the longer I go to austin christian fellowship the more I love the church for what it stands for and what its beliefs are. to know ,love,serve. it is now august 2012, I am still attending this awesome awesome church of god and have joined Starting Point. I will be volunteering in the children's ministry starting in september I can hardly wait I highly recommend this church to all christians. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This church is awful. I hadn't been to church in a few months and was looking forward to delving back into my faith. It started off nicely with the songs of worship but then the senior pastor started preaching. He is a man filled with vitriol. I thought I was coming to a loving and accepting place. God is kind and just. What was portrayed here, was the complete opposite. I cannot believe that no one was offended by what this pastor was preaching to people. I was the only one that walked out. I feel awkward "reviewing" a church. I just feel like you should put on Yelp firsthand information on the places you go. So please consider this "review" more of a glimpse into my Austin Christian Fellowship experiences. * My wife I go to ACF, for over 5 years now * My kids (teenagers now) happily go and participate in the really fun and rewarding Students activities * Will Davis has the amazing ability to preach messages that invites the new or "searching for something" but not yet Christian, and still engages the lifelong church goer. * ACF does not "pass the plate". You can give to the church in collection bins at the back of the church on the way in or out. But no embarrassing offering plate is passed during the service. THAT is faith in your congregation! * ACF is a "giving" church, 35% of the church's financial resources are given away to serve others in life-changing ministries locally and globally. * Its casual. I mainly wear jeans. ACF is a great place to come serve and be served. read more

Horrible church. I have stopped going to church after my 6 month experience at this church. I had a bad experience in a small group, received zero support from the "pastors" I have never seen anything like this. As this is the 3rd fundamentalist church I visited for a while and there is no way to decipher or recognize a fundamentalist church, I no longer go. Appalling place, fake and just plain bad, The sermons were creepy, the senior pastor too. All in all for me a living nightmare. I lost my mom and a sister 1.5 months apart last year. My relatives who are here were up in the DC area to deal with all this death and devastation. I called the church and tried to speak wth the pastor or his "care pastor" who "deals" with people who are experiencing difficulty. I was told by both that they didn't really "deal" with members of the church w/ my kind of issues and that I should "do life" in my small group, a group of controlling manipulative and racist women. So I said to myself if being a "Christian" means being like these people... all of them, no more church. The head pastor is a total creep, hugs you too closely and wrote the most vile blog posts. He once compared himself to a poor boy in a refugee camp in Haiti, stating he the boy, would "never amount to anything"( how does he know???) and never speak publicly, never publish books, this man, the head pastor is a self published author and I think he speaks publicly all the same, he is so low that to boost himself up he has to pick on a 15 yr old boy in a refugee camp? Honestly, a new low. I also deeply resented their constant hawking their books and for fee "webisodes" at us. Someone should report them and have their tax exemption challenged. It's a for profit business. I hated them and still do. I sat through most of a sermon by this guy where he referred to "intermarriage" as an abomination. Seriousely? What did he mean, between species? Races or was this a subtle dig at marriage equality. I am married to a white man, it was creepy. The final straw was when yet another pastor, not sure which, they have so many from College Station maybe missions pastor, spoke about communities in Austin, poorer ones as "those people" and how we had to serve them as they were less affluent, because this community, theirs was sooo affluent. He went on and on about them, those people. Ugh. In my 6 months at ACL, I met several people, women mostly who made very little. Less than $14.00 per hour, at least 6 women and they were struggling. So clearly not as affluent as they think. These men were creepy, out of touch and hateful. I would rather die than be thought of as one of them, so no more church and I no longer call myself a Christian. I deeply resent that these rightwing lunatics have highjacked the term Christian and I would rather die than be mistaken for them. One of the few comforts in life that I had they took away from me. Zero trust. My trust in people is shattered after this experience. Still healing. read more

ACF is very welcoming, the music is fantastic and so are the teachings. I feel like I have grown a lot in my faith since going here. There are a lot of opportunities to get involved and join small groups so you can meet new people. Jesus is at the core of everything they do. Also, I love that ACF is such a giving church- I believe they give away almost 50% of what comes in to non profits, other churches, and missionaries. I would definitely recommend coming and checking it out. read more

What can I say, this has been our church home since my husband and I both became Christians many years ago. I will never forget the day I walked through the doors of an office building to sit in chairs and hear a young man then, named Will Davis talk about forgiveness through Christ Jesus. My son was a very young man then, and I myself a single mom struggling with everything. The ACF family made me feel welcome, and loved. I learned how to find the truth about God's word. I learned that there is strength in a relationship with Christ. We soon became entrenched at ACF. Serving on Sunday's, part of a small group, and attending Wednesday night "In Focus" a very relaxed Wednesday night environment where one could dig into God's word, ask any question and learn how to apply it to your life right then. I learned that God did have a plan for me, and a fantastic one at that! I would meet and mary my soul mate and be blessed with 3 more children. I was encouraged to step out in faith and be a leader in our church. This wonderful church lovingly teaches what it means to be God's church. It's not about a bulding, it's about loving and serving one another. After we felt God leading us to worship a little closer to home we visited many wonderful churchs. We planted ourselves in a lovely church for sometime. Then ACF planted a church right in our backyard, which became ACF Brushy Creek. amazing it was an answer to pray so many years ago. If you are looking for a place to really know. love and serve God and what that really looks and feels like then you should walk through the doors of ACF. Walk through, grab a bible and see what God's word really has to say about you and the life He really wants for you! read more

I've gone to ACF for about 6 months. My family loves their emphasis on community. I previously read an review regarding a woman in an interracial relationship that was appalled at the senior pastor calling in an abomination. I'm black woman with a Hispanic husband and I couldn't imagine our senior pastor saying anything like that . I've been to small groups and felt more than welcomed by everyone in the group. All in all, I really enjoy ACF and the church has defiantly helped my transition to Austin. read more

I attended ACF for five years at Four Points and have now moved to the Brushy Creek location. The teaching is true and Bible based, the kids programs are great, and the women's ministry is amazing. I have met and bonded with many wonderful women through this ministry. It truly changed my life. read more

ACF is the only church my husband agreed to visit more than once. We tried for years to find a church that met my spiritual needs as a lifelong Christian and his needs as a spiritual seeker. The presentation of the Gospel is solid - not watered down but also not offensive to those who don't have a Christian background. The teaching is the best I've found, as every Sunday I learn something new about myself, my faith, and God. The messages are always timely, and I'm comfortable asking non-Christian friends and family to join me on Sundays, knowing that they will be welcomed and accepted. I love the generosity of this church. The multi-site model allows ACF to meet in YMCAs and schools throughout the city so people can go to church right where they live. And the money that would have ordinarily been spent on buildings instead goes to ministries and non-profits. It's hard to be a stranger at ACF. It's definitely not a place where you can remain anonymous for long. They emphasize serving and are eager to help people identify areas they'd like to serve in. At first, I was unsure about being known at church because that made it harder to slip in and out, but now I'm so thankful for the community of support we have at ACF. Went there for an event it was an evening car show looked like fun since we lived in the area thought we'd check it out get to know the people that are at that church figuring it was an outreach figured it was our opportunity to see if this church community was for us. We got there all the church members were talking at each other made several attempts to say hi to the folks there but no one acknowledged us in the least. They continued to ignore us not making eye contact nor even saying hello to us so we left cause we felt horrible and totally unwelcome there like we were in the wrong crowd it was a bad experience. Sad that they are this way that isn't very Christian so if you're going here to be filled you may end up very empty. read more

ACF is a very accepting place - the dress is casual, the people are friendly and non-judgmental, and the music rocks! This year ACF will be giving away 25% of what they take in towards other ministries. ACF works with other churches in Austin and around the world to serve those in need. In fact, the mission statement is to "help seekers of purpose, meaning, and truth to know, love, and serve Christ." The children's and youth activities are both very strong as well. We were new to Austin this summer and found a very welcoming Pastor and supportive members at ACF. I am not sure what the problem was for the one negative reviewer but I can say not every church clicks with every person. We tried out a couple other churches before we found ACF and finally felt at home. I also think if someone is in a small group that doesn't work for them they need to make a change and find one that does. ACF offers plenty of groups at more than one campus. We always look forward to church on Sunday. Its a chance to hear a great message from Pastor Will and worship with amazing music. So happy we found ACf! read more
