Ron and Cheryl tried hard to accommodate our tight scheduling request (6-8 weeks) and completed installation of our irrigation system one month earlier than promised... who does that? When the installation team came out to start work, their highly efficient workers completed all of the trenching within 2-3 hours. The entire project (including coordinating with their backflow vendor + county inspectors) took about 3 business days. I doubt any other company can deliver this speed and quality. Service was good, billing extremely questionable…read more Setting up the appointment was somewhat easy. When Dean returned my message, he first stated he didn't work in our town it was too far. He then asked what neighborhood we lived in, and I told him. He then did a 180 and said for your neighborhood, we make exceptions. Fine. His employee showed up on time. He was able to diagnose our problem, fix 2 heads and installed a new wifi control box. I received the bill a week later. The labor charge for the installation of the wifi box and 2 heads was listed as one charge, the 2 heads listed as the second charge and finally the wifi box as the lay and final line item. I immediately noticed the cost of the box seemed elevated? I researched multiple stores on web stores and the cost of the box was 1/2 of price he was charging me. He charged us $250 for a box that retails at MSRP at $119 (most stores had them on sale for about $100). I asked Dean about why the cost was so high and he pretty much told me it costs what it costs. If you need irrigation work, get a quote ahead from them and do your due diligence. The work was great, and they showed up on time. Their billing practices are questionable.

Last year I had my entire irrigation system replaced over $1600 and this year part of one Valve broke and they said they had to replace the entire thing again. It cost me the same amount of getting another $1600 which I was highly suspicious. Then they tell you you don't have to be there for them to fix your irrigation however they were surprised that I was there and it took them a really fast job to do it so I knew something was not on the up and up. We've used Wilcox Brothers for 16 years for all our irrigation services but never again. We always…read morehave them shut down and flush our system in the fall to "winterize" it and then pay them to "reopen" inspect, and make necessary adjustments every spring. First they "couldn't get to us" for 4+ weeks after our request to do this. They canceled and pushed back appointments because "they didn't have enough staff" to come out. The weather already had many 80°+ days before they finally came out. They came out to inspect everything saying it was fine but just a week later my landscaper found my drip lines not working in several areas! By this time, we've had a 6 week drought, I have grass dying out and many old established trees dying. They haven't had a working drip line for probably 2 or more years. I've had so many plants struggling, replaced many, had a tree service fertilizing them, and no one mentioned the watering has been the problem--specifically the IRRIGATION company I've been paying to take care of this twice a year! When the tech came back out two weeks after they charged me full price again to fix what they were supposed to do before. He admitted to me he doesn't have time to inspect drip lines because management only gives them 30 minutes to do each job. I have 1/2 acre lot with 360° plants around the parameter and the entire house. Of course you can't do it in 30 minutes. Meanwhile I'm stuck paying them, landscapers and tree services company when the problem was NO water. BTW--the office told me everything was working perfectly when they were out but the tech admitted he doesn't check everything because there's not enough time to. BUT I'M PAYING YOU TO CHECK EVERYTHING!
