I hired Austin Liberty Chimney to do a fireplace inspection. That went smoothly, and they recommended some additional work, which we scheduled for the following week. The scheduled day/time came but nobody showed up. I called and they said they'd forgotten to call over the weekend telling me the part hadn't come in yet. I'd taken time off work to schedule around that appointment, so the oversight was extremely inconvenient. I asked about rescheduling and they said they'd call me back, which they never did. I tried calling for weeks and couldn't even leave a voicemail because the mailbox was full. Finally, I gave up and scheduled another company to do that work, but they can't get us in until after Christmas, which means we're unable to use our fireplace for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Also, now it seems that the money we paid for the inspection may be wasted because the new company will likely charge me to do their own inspection. I really wish Victor would return my calls and get this work scheduled before Christmas, but I cannot waste any more of my own time calling with no answer. Very disappointing. read more

First off I'll say that he's a really nice guy. Came out to my house, looked at my chimney and told me that it's never been used. On his recommendation I purchased a gas fireplace log kit and he told me he would install it. He scheduled an appointment, but he never showed and didn't communicate. I messaged him and we scheduled a second appointment for 1:00pm and when he didn't come by a second time I messaged him. He said he came by an hour early, but didn't notify me. Victor and his colleague were prompt to come out to diagnose the potential issue on why my gas fireplace wasn't working. During the visit, I was told to order a replacement part online. Once the part was delivered, I was told to call them to install the part. Since the initial visit, it has been impossibly frustrating to get the company to return to install the part. I made multiple appointments with Victor for a return visit last week and he missed every one of them. He forgot about our appointment on Thursday morning so he rescheduled for Friday afternoon. On Friday afternoon, I received a text from Victor that he needed to reschedule my appointment for Saturday. On Saturday, no one showed up again. Since Saturday, I have been unable to reach Victor via text messages and phone calls to schedule a follow up visit. It would have been much better if he was honest about not being able to come instead of wasting my time for multiple days. He ended up blocking both my phone number and my wife's phone number after numerous calls to schedule a follow up visit to install a non-refundable part. It's so ridiculous. Please don't waste your time with this company like I did...on multiple days. read more

My fireplace wasn't drawing correctly so I made an appt with Austin liberty. They were responsive and prompt, arrived on time then looked at my chimney for 10 seconds before telling me I needed a new damper. $800-$1200 fix. Shocked. I asked if it might just need a cleaning. He stated that it was the damper. I went on the roof and used a plumbing drain cleaner on it. It was a massive spiderweb. Works great now. read more

Oh absolutely do not even bother to make an appointment with this company. The last try with them (3 times!), they didn't even bother to show up, or to notify me. They must be doing really well to think that it's acceptable to display such a lack of professionalism and basic human respect. read more

I'm only giving two stars because he seems knowledgeable and is generally a nice guy, but man, he is the biggest flake ever!! I honestly don't know how he stays in business!! Gas fireplace wouldn't light or stay lit even after cleaning and then replacing the pilot and thermocouple. My landlord found this company, and we scheduled a time to come out. He showed up for that appt and let us know we needed a new gas train which had to be ordered. Once the part came in a week later, I had to continually text and call Victor to schedule a time as he just wouldn't respond. Finally got one scheduled, and he was late and only let me know he was running late after my calling and texting repeatedly again. He then tells us the part is faulty, and once we get a new part, he'll come back. It's getting close to Christmas at this point, and I was really disappointed I couldn't use the fireplace, and we'd been working on this since 12/8. He then says he can combine parts from the old and new gas trains and get it to work temporarily, so we schedule another appt. No show. I called repeatedly again, and this time, he said, "Oh, Juan should have been there by now" (first I've heard of Juan). Now I'm mad and let him know what I think about how flaky he is, and he swares he'll come out the next morning at 9am. 9am rolls around and no show. Start calling and texting again, and he says he'll be here at 10am. He does show up, but it turns out that if we combine parts on the two gas trains, it will void the warranty on the new part. This is 2 days before Christmas, so I've written off using it then and hoping the power doesn't go out for the freeze days over Christmas as the fireplace would be our only source of heat. I got in touch with the company the part came from, and they explained that the valve was manufactured the wrong way but can easily be flipped around and should work fine. I've now texted Victor several times with this info and to schedule another appt and no response at all. My husband thinks he can fix it based on the easy instructions from the part company. It's a good thing because Victor is totally MIA. Apparently, this is a thing for him based on the other reviews stating the same thing. At this rate he won't be in business long no matter how knowledgeable he is. read more

I paid Victor to replace the crown and cap on my chimney as there was a leak around my chimney. It is still leaking and Victor won't return my call after several attempts to contact him. I just had a roofing company look at it and when they replaced the cap, they used the old collar which is leaking and also did not seal the crown around the edges. I paid them a lot of money to do this work including a new collar and now they appear to be gone. I will update this review if they come back and take care of the problem. read more

Employed this company to clean my chimney at 26 Ridgewood Circle in Wimbereley. Company emploee arrived on Tuesday, November 15 to provide the service. The employee (Jose) started to vacuum the chimney with a vacuum that did not have a filter installed and subsequently blew ash into the air which settled all over my living room, dining room, kitchen, and hallways. I stopped the activity and contacted the propietor to report the problem. The owner assured me via text that they would clean my house during a rescheduled appointment at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 17. The company did not show up for the appointment or contact me to reschedule. read more
