If you have read my review of another fingerprint place, you will see that I have had trouble getting fingerprints done for background checks related to professional licenses that I must obtain for my job. The last time around I went to two different police stations to have my fingerprints done and the state of Louisiana rejected all four sets of prints We went to Austin Passport Express because I was getting desperate to get this situation taken care of. From now on, whenever I need my passport renewed, I'll go to Austin Passport Express. It's well worth the money (especially since it's a once every 10 year thing!). My passport expired when I was 26 and since I wasn't immediately traveling, I put it off for years until it was almost so expired I was dangerously close to not being able to renew. I put it off because 1) who uses checks anymore and 2) who prints things anymore? Tracking down checks and a printer was candidly low on my to do list - the process to renew your passport is just very archaic and I probably would have messed it up somehow. The team at Austin Passport Express was super friendly and had me in and out in 10 minutes - they handled the photos, the printing, the check/money order, and shipping - errands that would have cost me a few hours. They also delivered my passport to me faster than originally expected (and this was during the covid times when things were moving slow!). They will be my go to easy button from now on! As a funny aside, I never realized how fanatic people could be about a passport company, but I posted about my good experience on IG and all my friends were messaging me like "I love them!!! and sharing their own personal stories of urgent travel and nearly expired passports. I needed passport photos for a renewal and found Austin Passport Express on Yelp. Arrived on a Friday at about 4 pm without an appointment, but they were still able to assist me and I got the photos in about 15 minutes. There's no parking lot and everything in the area is metered, so you will pay at least $2.25 to park unless you go during a free period. read more

My friend and I rushed over from Del Valle through annoying traffic, hitting all the red lights, and got there a minute after 5pm. If ever getting one's Passport renewed could be called 'pleasant': It would be Austin Passport Express at 1109 Rio Grande St.. Getting the Passport photo to go long with the renewal application is handled by APE also....As the Walgreen's photo I had brought with me was disastrously bad, I had another taken and it turned out much better. I called ahead for an appointment, and they were on time. It's a very busy street intersection (12th at Rio Grande) so arrive a bit early to get a parking spot. All helpers were courteous, knowledageable, and they know 'answers' to any questions you might have. You will leave with a smile on your face and in very little time spent! I'm hell bent on going to London to see Tottenham play at White Hart Lane and it's going to be their last year playing in that stadium because its going to be torn down. I had to make a list. My top priority was renew my passport because it expired three years ago. I've been meaning to have it renewed but I just kept on forgetting. I didn't trust myself renewing the passport by myself. Sure I had time to renew it but I just thought to myself, I rather have a service company help me with this. Austin Passport Express helped me with the process. I wasn't in a rush to have it done. As long as it's done, it's fine. It's a small place, actually it's a house with very limited parking. Though you can park on the street. Also it's across the street from Pease Elementary School. I had no idea you could get a passport so quickly. My hubby had to get his renewed as it had expired, and needed it quickly as we are trying to plan a Europe trip for the summer (!). A week and a half after he dropped off the paperwork, he tells me "my passport arrived, can you go pick it up for me?" ?? Seriously? That's all the time it took? And you're SURE I can go pick it up for you? I had my doubts. I left work early to try and get there before traffic got too bad - thankfully Rio Grande is a pretty quiet street, even though it's downtown. There's street parking (paid) and 2 small parking spots right by their building (free), so I nabbed a parking space and walked inside, not knowing what to expect. I walk in and am immediately greeted by a friendly guy at the desk. That's when I know it's not an official gov't location - the people are too happy to be working there! (zing) He asks to see my ID and hands over the hubs' passport! It's that simple. I have no idea how the actual passport paperwork and application process took, but according to him it was "quick and easy". I also got something notarized while I was there; seriously took no longer than 5 minutes. I will for sure be coming back here when I need my passport renewed! Yes, you pay a little more for the speedy service, but I think it's rather worth it for the courteous and friendly demeanor of their staff. All I needed was a couple of sets of photos for a foreign passport I'm about to get renewed and they didn't bat an eyelash at the three-sided document that encapsulated those particular official photo ID standards I brought along with me. I needed a photo for my passport. I called before I came in and they asked how they could help me on the phone. I liked that - good customer service from the first point of contact. There was no wait when I went in. They took my picture immediately; then let me take another one since I looked dead in the first one. I have been to Sameday Passport & Visa and I think Austin Passport Express is far far better. Passport Express is great in pleasantness, accuracy of knowledge of what documents to submit is much better than SameDay passport and overall feel like they are quick responsive and knowledgeable Giving 4 stars as I got fingerprinting done and consulting done with them (after I got fed up with SameDay Passport (I eventually did get my passport back but it was a very inefficient and difficult process)). But I haven't used them for passport services yet. But I will be if I need to for the family in 2 years. read more

This place is very fast and efficient, and the staff is so friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. If there aren't spots available, they will quickly open up with the in and out process. In my opinion, it was definitely worth the extra money to not stand in line and feel like my passport name change was very quickly, yet carefully, taken care of. They also take WAY better passport photos than Walgreens, if that's something to matters to you! In an effort to be more customer-service oriented, the State of Texas went to inkless/digital fingerprints outsourced to a third party company. This makes things super easy if you need fingerprints for any Texas requirements. Unfortunately, the outside fingerprinting vendor doesn't do inkless/digital fingerprints for out-of-state licensing requirements. And most police departments only do fingerprints on certain days and times, if they do them at all. Enter ABC Passport Express. They still do ink fingerprints on FBI cards. In fact, they do fingerprints anytime they're open. That alone makes them Yelp-worthy. What really gives them the five stars is their customer service and knowledge. Everyone there was friendly and was super knowledgeable about fingerprint requirements. I was impressed listening to them speak with other customers about visa requirements and which consulates were easiest to deal with. No, they aren't cheap. However, you're paying not just for the basic services, but the knowledge to make your travel and/or identification arrangements as seamless as possible. Highly recommended. read more

They might not have a fancy website or a fancy building but their quality speaks for itself. Quick and reliable plus excellent customer service at a reasonable price. This place is indeed "as good as it gets" in terms of passport related tasks. I went around noon on a weekday to obtain a fingerprint card. It was already a great convenience not having to go to a police station for it. There were quite a few people in the room but no wait time. The entire process from walking up to the counter to signing my receipt took 15 minutes, much faster than anticipated. They still use inks to do fingerprints (instead of digital prints) but hey, the results are the same. While I was there, there was constant traffic and at least 4 people's photos were taken. What does this mean? Efficiency. If you need a place that gets the job done, come here. It'll save you a lot of time and stress from wondering if you've done the right thing. I dropped in during the day on Monday to apply for my Chinese Visa -- they took the photo for me in house, took my application and passport and I was in and out in 15 minutes. I brought my application filled out (thanks to the easy online forms) but had made a mistake on the first form-- rather then bothering with me re-printing it out, fixing the error and sending it back, they did it for me! It was so incredibly easy. It has been exactly 1 week and I just received the call that my passport and visa are ready for pick up. Their competitor on Lamar was rude, lazy and untrustworthy. Found them and even based off a phone call ABC was helpful, kind and seemed to actually CARE. I had to obtain an emergency passport (24 hrs) during the Oct 2013 Gvt shutdown and they handheld me through entire process. They are slightly more expensive than "competitor" but not sure that they can really be in same category. ABC is only way to go -- they are nice, professional, trustworthy. read more

Quick, easy and polite! What more could you ask for. There were several people when I walked in, including a family with 4 kiddos, but I was greeted quickly and taken to the back to get my photo done. I even got to do a re-take of my photo because I wasn't thrilled with the first one. Parking wasn't bad either. Plenty of street parking for downtown.
