What could possibly go wrong? The answer: plenty. My new roof leaked after the very first rain. My insurance adjuster denied the claim because the leak was caused by faulty chimney flashing/shingle installation, making it a workmanship issue that should have been covered under the roofer's warranty. When I contacted Priority Roofing, they flat-out refused to take responsibility. Two employees came out, poured water over the roof for a few minutes, declared everything was fine, and left. Since they refused to honor their warranty, I hired another contractor at my own expense. Sure enough, he found that Priority Roofing's installation was indeed the cause of the leak. I had to pay out of pocket to repair damage that never should have happened in the first place. I thought the nightmare was over. Four years later, my roof leaked again. This time, I discovered that Priority Roofing had reused my old roof vents instead of replacing them during the roof installation. The aging vent seals eventually failed, causing another leak. Rather than go through another frustrating warranty battle with Priority Roofing--with no confidence they would fix the problem correctly anyway--I did extensive research and found Reyes Roofing. I worked with Vincente, and the experience was everything I wish the first one had been. Vincente and his crew replaced the old vents that should have been replaced from the beginning, sealed every vulnerable area, and thoroughly addressed the issues left behind by Priority Roofing. Fast forward to March 2026: as we began preparing for broader home renovations, we reconnected with them for an updated whole-house quote. After hiring a handyman to take care of minor repairs around the house, we were finally ready to paint by May. Because 21st Century is so popular with local school districts and commercial clients, their summer schedule fills up fast. However, they promised they could start our project in August during the first week of school, and they delivered right on schedule. Throughout the planning phase, they were incredibly responsive to all my questions and accommodating whenever I needed to update our project scope. When work began, the execution was incredible. They initially estimated the job would take between a week and a half to two weeks. For our nearly 3,200 sq. ft. home, we stayed at a nearby Airbnb expecting a longer process, but their team was so efficient they started on Monday and wrapped up completely by Saturday! Original job was done and completed on time, price was comparable to other quotes we received. The…read moreproblem started when we received heavy rain after the roof was replaced and leaks started. The team came out to inspect the work, made a repair that did not work. Roof continued to leak and now the company advised me to hire someone else to complete the repair, they claim the leaks are a coincidence and not related to their work. Steve Powers told me it was unfortunate I was experiencing leaks, but it was misguided to blame the company's work. Now our insurance company is having to get involved.
