I've visited each location, several times by this point, and the service from the staff working is always exceptional. Both friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to the product, which can be very beneficial when it comes to explaining things like the differences in kratom strains, CBD/delta products, etc. They also have weekly specials that are kind of impossibly to beat, essentially with a different product on sale each day. They also occasionally run other special offers that are insane, like buy 1 get 1 for $5 King K shots, deals for your birthday, etc. If you're looking for a friendly smoke shop with a little bit of everything to offer check out AVS. There's a smoke shop on every corner in this Austin, so I guess I should've known better -- especially with all the recent court rulings and how desperate some places are getting. Came in to buy an 18650 battery after making a first attempt at the other location on 1st -- feel free to check my other reviews to see how that went. I had made the drive down from Manor to purchase the MXJO 18650 battery listed on Austin Vape and Smoke's website, which research showed was rated for 20 amps continuous discharge. I run a high-wattage e-cig that requires a battery rated for 20 amps continuous discharge or higher in order to function safely. If I use my e-cig with a battery that is rated for fewer amps, it is a legitimate explosion risk. I asked for the battery and was handed a bare 18650 battery, no box or ziplock bag or anything. This is *extremely dangerous*. 18650 batteries aren't like AAs, they're high-discharge industrial batteries that *will* explode if they are allowed to come into contact with coins, a zipper or any other common metal objects. Do a google search for "dallas battery explosion lawsuit" to see what can happen when vape shops sell these batteries without any kind of packaging. The battery I was handed was silver and green, which did not match the all-yellow battery I found on their website. However, the research I did on the battery also turned up a silver-and-yellow version, so I figured this was another variant. In hindsight, this was a mistake. I asked the clerk if this battery was rated for 20 amps continuous discharge, to which he kind of muttered something to himself and then apologized for being spaced out today. At this point I had already wasted a lot of time driving to the south side of town and being ignored at the other 1st street location, so I went ahead and purchased the battery just to get everything over with. Thankfully I had a small bag in my car, so I could safely get the battery home. Now that I'm home and can do more research on the battery, this thing is rated for 10 amps continuous discharge. This is a completely different item than what is listed on the website, and is very unsafe for me to use in my e-cig. Beyond selling a legitimate fire hazard in an unpackaged battery, the shop also made no effort to check what kind of e-cig I'd be using the battery in, as 10 amps is almost unusable in modern e-cigs and is frankly a confusing thing to sell *or* purchase. I've worked in vape shops before and these are very important courtesies to offer the customer, both for their sake and for the legal liability of the shop itself. I wouldn't recommend Austin Vape and Smoke, as anything they might sell you could be a legitimate fire/explosion hazard. read more

This is the only vape shop in Austin you need. The e juice they provide is made with knowledge and intent instead of just mixing as they go. They age the juice so the flavors are able to form together for a better product. A solid selection of flavors and mods(as well as glass) with a staff that cares and knows what is going on with their products. The sweet tobacco flavor is my go to, but they are all quality. My favorite part is you don't walk into a huge cloud of vapor smoke coming from the guy behind the counter trying to show off his new mod between every word he says to you. Overall, the quality of the product and the knowledge provided by the staff are the reason I use this shop as my home vapor shop. I have tried a good portion of the shops in Austin and if it's not the unwelcoming smoke plumes covering the shop it's the arrogance and ignorance of the employees of other shops that drives me to come regularly to Austin vape and smoke, for quality and knowledge at a comparable if not cheaper price than their competitors. I have only visited twice but been impressed both times by the friendly staff and idiosyncratic selection of wares. It's not a huge shop that has everything, but a small one with a well-chosen cross-section of smoking and vaping gear. On my first stop in here I was able to get the Suorin cartridges I needed, the salesperson showed me another similar pod vape device more recently released by the same company, and since this would be the closest location for future cartridges I agreed to sign up for their frequent-flyer loyalty rewards program, which netted me a five-dollar discount on the spot and another on the next visit. With a couple of extra bucks I looked around a bit and ended up delighted with a pair of hand-made glass hairsticks from a tray of different artisan glass doodads, apparently provided by the local glassmakers from whom they source their water pipes. (Alas, glass hair sticks aren't the best idea unless you never drop them. I am not so sure of hand, so one of my new garnet-red glass sticks is currently clamped back together while the glue dries. Hoping it'll hold together and still work to hold up the Mess Of Hair.) On a second visit I purchased the previously-shown new version of the Suorin refillable pod vape (which I like slightly better than the ones I have used for the last year, primarily because the integral clip makes it less easy to lose) and the salesperson, a different one, made an equally pleasant impression while helping me. The store stays open conveniently late, so I would be visiting for vape needs whether I liked the store or not, but in fact I like going there and look forward to the chance to stop in whenever I have a few minutes and half an excuse. It's a sweet little shop and I hope it does well and stays in business a good long while. I don't five-star it only because it isn't the best of all possible vape stores-- the best I know of anywhere is a place in College Station that has been in business over a decade and sets the standard for excellence. The e-liquids they brew up there are the best I know of, so I usually mail-order what I need to fill the vape pods. But not excelling a bigger, older, established shop like that one is no shame for a new, small place just getting started this past year-- in ten years Austin Vape & Smoke might as well have added a congenial seating area, trained a large attentive knowledgeable staff, and developed a line of in-house e-juices. This place made a good start and I will be a frequent customer (until nicotine stops being addictive and I stop wanting to poison myself with it, which is to say... never). My local and preferred Vape shop. I've noticed a few heady little rigs around too! The staff is friendly, and is very knowledgable when it comes to vapes, detox and a novelty items. The location isn't the biggest but I couldn't say it affects their inventory; They've got a large selection of juices, tanks and mods. When I first started coming in, I had little to no knowledge of vapor products and after a few check ins and a video or two I'd even feel comfortable calling myself an intermediate vaper. We were helped by Amanda* (I'm fairly certain that was her name) and she helped my fiancée pick out a nice glass water pipe with a honeycomb. In the meantime I checked out the CBD oil after hearing a lot about it but not necessarily being on the bandwagon. She knew just as much about the smoking hardware as she did about the CBD. But she let me know that CBD was something special and that it helped so many people. I grabbed a CBD oil cartridge since the investment in my curiosity wasn't too high (~$35 plus tax for 200mg) and I was pretty sure something derived from "hemp" and not "the real deal" wasn't going to change my life. And holy hell, was I wrong. There are numerous applications for CBD from pain to anxiety and way more than I can quantify here...So i recommend you do your own research. But here is a real-world test for ya if you've been curious like me. Ever had too much coffee? Or drank an energy drink with a little bit too much kick? Go pick up one of those. Then drive to this shop and buy one of their CBD oil cartridges (and a battery if you need one (batteries are generally ~$20 without the charger) take a pull of CBD from an oil cartridge. You will notice the calming effects immediately and understand how it can help you. As for this place, the wonder that is CBD peaked my curiosity and the personable staff kept me there. They also have a really cool and generous loyalty program via and app called "FiveStars" All-around a great find and after two visits i can heart-fully recommend. Well done. read more

This place is terrible and the ejuice is straight up junk. They carry a tiny selection of the lowest grade starter kits and prey on uninformed people who want to quit smoking. The fact that 85% of their products are bongs and weed pipes, and only 10% is e-cig related ought to be a clue that their interest lies in a more traditional form of smoking. I stumbled into this place looking for a bottle of juice in a pinch. It took 3 minutes and 2 juice samples to confirm my initial fears once I walked in. I felt bad for the poor lady getting "sold" on a junk device. Especially knowing that for just a little more she could have bought a much better and more satisfying setup, at any one of Austin's numerous dedicated vapor shops. All vaping gear is not created equal. I'm not suggesting that beginners start off with the advanced and expensive gear that some of us long-time and serious vapers use. But the whole point of vaping is to simulate smoking. Would you rather spend $35 on a setup that barely simulates the smoking experience and makes it unpleasant to give up those cigarettes OR would you rather spend $60-$70 and get a setup that does a fantastic job of satisfying your cravings? Friends don't let friends vape junk juice or devices! I don't want to recommend a specific store as an alternative because it m not sure if it's appropriate. But I definitely want to WARN people about this store, if you're looking for a vape shop. If you're a stoner, I'm sure this store is top-notch; but it's not, by any means, a quality vape shop. The people that recommended it on Yelp are clearly newbies to vaping and don't have a clue what they're missing at a dedicated vape shop. There's a great one not far away on South Congress, just north of Ben White; and there's another one up north by Anderson Ln and N Lamar. As well as numerous others. I have been using the itaste vtr with a Kanger Pro Tank 3 and it works flawlessly. I also purchased a Vision Spinner here along with the mini Pro Tank 3 for a not-so-bulky but still potent vape combination. I've been going here for about a year. Kid working there, Baddha, was great. Personable, helpful, kind, etc. As a result, I've spent quite a bit there and become a loyal customer. November 18th, I got a text from them saying '50% off kratom, expires 11/24'. So I went to buy some. When I got there was told the text message was a mistake, the sale was next Friday, and I'd have to come back. No big deal. I bought a small quantity to get me by until the 24th, and today, I went back around 3 o'clock. I was told, Sorry the sale ended at 2 o'clock. I was just needing some small cartridges for sampling which they don't have. the sales guy then proceeds to try and sell me a mechanical mod which was $70 dollars, just for tasting liquids. Are you serious. So then I purchased a small plastic tank which was overpriced at 7.99$. Got all the way home and went to try the tank and it didn't work. coil was shorted out. My innokin MVP said there was a short.
