Let me say the staff who normally work here are…read moregood but today I dealt with a man with a beergut I'd never seen there before who told me it would cost $9.70 to send a small item that weighed only 33 grams - 33 grams! - by non-express post then had the nerve to argue with me when I said the price was outrageous - which anyone would agree with. A normal person would have said 'yes I agree but what can you do?' at least but this clod just dug his heels in and kept saying 'no it's is NOT outrageous - it's a parcel; I'm not here to argue. It's absolutely fair'. With insane prices and people struggling to put food on the table I was floored by this corruption denier's bad attitude. All anyone needs to do is to visit Google and look at a few reviews for Australia Post to see that everyone is disgruntled with their escalating prices for deteriorating service - I'm not alone! Really bad service and I hope to never deal with this individual again. As I said the staff here are normally great.

I don't really have a choice in coming here or not because they leave my packages there and they'll get sent back if I don't go and get them. First of all, I work full time and go to the gym on Saturday mornings. It's really difficult to get to the post office when they're only open M-F 8:30-5 and then Sat from 9-12. Sometimes you forget you have to pick something up and so you have to wait a whole week before you can go get it, all the while hoping that they're not going to send it back before you can get in on Saturday. The post office seems to have been owned by the same family for years. The guy is quite friendly and helpful but I have often felt that the woman could be a little friendlier. Walking into the post office is depressing though - it is overdue for a facelift. I don't expect anything fancy but half the shelves are empty and there is no music or anything else that's particularly welcoming about the place. It makes me feel like I want to get in and out as quickly as possible - there's no way I would be hanging around looking at the stuff they're selling. Like I said, I don't have a choice in going there... they're friendly enough and provide all the services a post office does - just wish something could be done about the atmosphere.

I come to this post office fairly regularly and there is always a long queue but it seems to move pretty quickly. I was really impressed the other day when I went to post some Christmas items. The queue was even longer than normal and I was ready to start reading a novel on my Iphone when the next minute I looked up and I was at the front of the line; amazing efficiency. Someone, had obviously had the foresight to put on extra staff over the Christmas period. The downside for them was that I didn't have much time to look at the goodies for sale they conveniently place alongside the line where you queue. Usually, while I am waiting I get sucked in by the cute little things they have on offer that I usually buy for upcoming birthdays or just because they are there and I have time to browse. The service at the counter was equally as efficient and the staff were very friendly and were probably happy because they didn't have to deal with people who were ticked off for waiting in line for so long - everyone wins.

A surprising number of Aust Post outlets don't do this. I agree with Alison that the queue seems to move pretty fast, so don't be put off if it seems busy. They also have some pretty good gift ideas, and you'll see a lot of them as you move along in the line.
