**Quick help** Austrian Airlines customer support is available 24/7 at **1-888-446-1370** for assistance with reservations, flight changes, cancellations, baggage inquiries, refund requests, check-in support, and other travel-related concerns. You can also try **1-855-271-1818** for additional assistance. As an Emerald member of the oneworld alliance, I've always enjoyed complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. Unfortunately, this experience was very different. I paid an extra **$140** for two seats that were clearly displayed as a two-seat row during booking. However, when my wife and I boarded the aircraft, we discovered the row actually had **three seats**, leaving one of us stuck in a middle seat. Paying extra for a seat upgrade only to end up in that situation was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, my assigned seat (**6K**) had almost no cushioning. I had to stack pillows and blankets behind my back just to make the flight bearable and avoid severe discomfort. Customer service was equally frustrating. I called one representative in Detroit seeking information about my flight and aircraft, only to be transferred to another number in Chicago. The Chicago representative then directed me elsewhere, and after multiple calls, I was eventually routed back to Detroit. After being bounced around between departments, someone finally provided the information I had originally requested. The entire process felt disorganized and unnecessarily stressful. Once onboard, I have to admit the aircraft itself was modern and visually impressive, and most of the flight attendants worked hard and remained professional throughout the journey. However, the overall cabin experience was disappointing. Several passengers were loud and inconsiderate, and within just a few hours of the flight, the lavatories had become extremely unhygienic, with dirty floors, clogged sinks, and poor cleanliness standards. Based on this experience, I was deeply disappointed. While the aircraft looked beautiful and some crew members did their best, the seat issue, lack of comfort, poor customer service, and cabin conditions overshadowed any positives. Personally, I would choose another airline in the future rather than go through a similar experience again.

Loved everything about them! I flew business class BOS to VIE and they treated my travel companion and I like VIPs. I really did not want for much, just to stretch out and relax, but they kept bringing me more delicious morsels. The seat was comfortable and the food was good. The chef and the crew went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and well-fed. I especially loved the fennel soup. I dipped m bread into it and it was quite delicious. I had the beef (not pictured because I already dug into it before I remembered to take a photo) and it was pretty delicious. Breakfast was good, but I was not super hungry, as it seems like we had just eaten recently. My favorite seat feature was the massage function. It was light, but noticeable. A nice touch.

Austrian Airlines main primary customer service (toll-free) number is 1*888*305*4803 or +1 (888) 305-4803 , with 24/7 support for passengers seeking assistance with reservations, flight changes, cancellations, rebooking, and travel support. The customer service team helps travelers manage bookings, modify itineraries, explore rebooking options, and resolve travel-related concerns quickly and efficiently. As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. That changed with Jetblue. I paid $140 for two seats that were clearly shown as a two seat row. When my wife and I boarded, we discovered the row actually had three seats. No one pays extra for a middle seat -- ever. My seat number was k6 and the seat has no cushion whatsoever, I had to stack pillows and blanket to prevent back pain Most incompetent company I've had to deal with. Called someone in Detroit to get information about the plane and flight, he gives me another number to call I believe it was in Chicago. I call that number, another person tells me we don't handle this, you have to call another number. Called that number, that person gave me the original Detroit number. I called Detroit back, another person answers and gives me the information I was asking to begin with. Not done yet. I finally check in and get on the plane, plane was gorgeous and flight attendants for most part were very hard working. Half the people on this flight were idiots, loud, arrogant, dirty and bathrooms even after a couple hours in flight were dirty, urine on the floor, clogged up sinks. Absolutely disgusting!!!! Like a fourth world country on a top of the line plane. I will never ever fly Jetblueagain!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline. Rather take any other airline that go through that hell AgaiN. read more

I needed assistance and decided to call this business at 18884784407. The response time was decent and the person on the line tried to help as much as possible. I had to be transferred once, but the second representative handled things better and gave me the correct information. It wasn't perfect, but it was still a workable experience. I'm leaving this review to share how things went for me personally. read more

They could serve food that you could eat in business class or any class. Pasta you could not cut through it with a knife because it was so hard. They don't have scotch on board. The only thing the crew seems to know how to do is smile but not take care of any issues or provide customer service. Business class is totally outdated. I think I'd rather fly with air than them in economy read more

Do NOT Book in this airline....Despite holding a valid booking that included paid baggage allowance (one checked-in bag up to 23 kg, one cabin bag up to 8 kg, and a personal item), I was compelled to pay an additional fee of 70 EUR under protest. At the time of travel, I was carrying only a single cabin bag weighing approximately 8 kg and no checked baggage. I explicitly attempted to present my booking details and clarify my entitlement; however, Mr. Victor refused to review the documentation and insisted, without substantiation, that a "new rule" applied. His conduct during this interaction was dismissive, unprofessional, and caused unnecessary delay and distress. Given my prior travel on 26 March 2026 from Vienna to Bucharest under comparable baggage conditions without issue, the enforcement of this alleged rule appears inconsistent and raises concerns regarding transparency, fairness, and proper application of your airline's policies. read more

1st time at the Vienna airport and was pleasantly surprised, a very large airport, very well-maintained and clean. The airport consists of lots of cafés, restaurants, and duty-free shopping. The staff at Austrian Airlines were always very kind and extremely helpful. Sabrina with the red hair & fun glasses was my favorite Austrian airlines employee . Austria might be my favorite European country. read more

For the first time, I was trying to book multiple flights to Europe with Austrian Airlines. When I contacted customer service, the first person hung up on me in the middle of the call because they couldn't understand what I was saying. The second person took my number and said they would call me back, but I never received a callback. It was honestly the worst customer service I've ever experienced, so I switched to Lufthansa. -Update- "Today I spoke with customer service again. Dylan Smith spent hours with us on the line. He helped us and solved the issue. I'm truly thankful to him." he realy changed my minds 5 star to him read more
Just awful as usual. this time Business Class through frequent flyer. While the service was fine, the food was simply horrible. The Wienerschnitzel was some strange meat surrounded by fuzzy hair ( or so it seemed) and the soup was impossibly salty. Everything was below standard. read more
This review is not about Austrian Airlines' flights, which were efficient and overall a good experience. Rather, it's about how they handled lost baggage. We went on a 3-day weekend trip to Vienna from overseas, so our time was quite precious. Unfortunately, one of our luggage pieces did not make the final leg of our inbound flight to Vienna. We understand that these things happen. Reporting the missing baggage was straightforward, although it did involve completing a fairly lengthy online survey with many questions regarding the luggage, addresses, and other details. Despite that, we were able to quickly be on our way to the hotel. As expected, we were notified that the luggage had arrived one day later, and we were given several 3-hour time slots to receive the delivery at our hotel. The issue was that our hotel did not have any onsite staff, so choosing a delivery window meant that we needed to wait at the hotel for the delivery to arrive. We asked Austrian Airlines if they could allow us to contact the delivery company directly, request that they call us when they were close, or at least tell us our position on the delivery route. Unfortunately, Austrian Airlines said they couldn't help with any of that and even made a dismissive remark, comparing the situation to ordering from UPS, where you can't contact the driver or know their route. In reality, at least in the U.S., you often can track deliveries that closely. Besides, this was not a case of us ordering something--we were dealing with lost luggage, which was entirely their responsibility. In short, it meant us waiting for close to two hours outside on the sidewalk in the middle of November, in freezing temperatures. Overall, I think this could have been handled much better. The customer service experience felt lacking, especially given the inconvenience caused by the missing luggage. Some flexibility and empathy would have gone a long way. read more
The first time that I flew Austrian Airlines was in 1996, when I was flying to Vienna to live there for a semester of college abroad. So... I was really really happy. That said, the flight staff was gracious and the food in coach was good. Drinks were free and abundant, and I even received a travel gift. I didn't have enough time to enjoy the Club, but Austrian Airlines didn't have a presence in my departure city of Chicago, so the Club that was offered was the Swissair Club. I've taken Austrian Airlines a number of times since then, but never again crossing over the Atlantic. Austrian Airlines is a fine airline, like so many others - but it is Not a discount airline, so using Austrian Airlines as a way to get to and from Europe or Asia simply doesn't make sense for a person on a budget. My advice is - use Austrian Airlines to fly to Austria or to get around Europe if you are already in Austria. For instance, Austrian Airlines is the perfect choice if you want to fly from Vienna to Cairo, to Istanbul, or to Armenia. I would even choose it if I had to go to Moscow, or Kabul, because Austria is neutral, and their planes would be safe. Enjoy you flight - and your abundant free drinks. read more
I had a few flights with Austrian airlines over the last week, overall this is a good airline. I traveled with them from Vienna to Washington DC. About 9 hours in air. Seat was surprisingly roomy and comfortable. Flight was all day, they still had pillows, blankets and a welcome bag on my seat. Stewards were friendly upon entering and made sure to greet everyone again while seated. Within minutes in the air we were given drinks, Vienna beer was great. Great movie selection, actually needed more time for all the movies I wanted to watch lol. Dinner was served fast and was good. Drink service was constantly up and down the aisle. No one was ever thirsty or hungry. Such a great experience flying with these guys! read more
I enjoyed flying Austrian Airlines even if I didn't choose them, maybe they chose me? The airline I got the ticket for was on strike so I was transfered to Austrian Airlines via Vienna (a transfer that wasn't planned for that helped me get to my destination in the same day). I didn't know what to expect. Upon enetering the plane, I heard classical music, Viennese waltzes to be precise, a touch that I loved! I was also greeted by nice flight attendants who were kind, smiled the whole time and did a nice job! Food was decent for airpline food, so were the drinks. I got to my destination on time and the flight was very pleasant. I would fly with them again! Decent, elegant, classy, need more flying like this! read more

On 8/6 my husband and I flew Austrian airlines from LAX to Vienna and encountered an issue with an abnoxious passanger sitting behind me who would stop me from reclining my seat by putting her legs up against my seat & repeatedly banging into my seat. I became extremely annoyed with her after I repeatedly asked her not to do it and finally I lost my patience and informed the staff about it. One of the flight attendants called the head flight attendant in charge who happened to be Ms. Nikoleta Molnarova. She was patient, sweet, professional and handled the situation like a pro. She went and discreetly spoke to the young woman behind me and made her understand that passangers have the right to put down the seat if they wish to. Nikoleta, Thank you so much for solving that issue and being extremly kind and understanding. You made our 11 hour flight a great experience. read more

Short haul review: I flew from Stockholm into Vienna via Austrian Airlines. Even in Economy, the seats are decently roomy. However, the new "ironing board" style seats mean that the seats felt pretty firm and hard. There wasn't a ton of food being served for such a short flight, which is understandable, but there was still a nice selection of snacks and beverages. The classical music playing was a nice touch as we boarded! I didn't love how much the woman in front of me had her coat, scarf, etc. encroaching into my row (both of us in window seats), but that's not the airline's fault :) read more

This airline lost our luggage and it was never recovered. They took no action to find it. Two months later, their system says "still trying to locate." They use several different systems and processes to track and claim luggage. They make you file the same information over and over, and you can never find a record of what you have submitted. There are no humans available in the process to help. They make every effort to frustrate and obfuscate so you will give up. They ruined our vacation, they made no accommodation, they never even communicated status. Service agents at the airports were rude and told us there was nothing we could do. I spent hours trying to make a claim and spent $1000s to re-buy my belongings. Do not fly Austrian Air, and if you do, DO NOT check your baggage. read more

Generally the flight was fine, pretty standard. But the customer service in the Vienna airport was unacceptably rude. I was at the gate well before boarding started, and got in line immediately when my group was called. When I got further up in the line, a customer service agent told me I wouldn't be able to use my mobile ticket (I hadn't been told this at any other point until then, and had used a mobile ticket on my flight to Vienna through Austrian, so I didn't expect this to be an issue). I was told to go to the service desk to get a printed ticket and rushed over to do so. Others were already in line to have their tickets printed too (for the same flight), so it took awhile for them to get to me. Once I got my ticket, I rushed back to the gate. The flight attendant told me that the whole flight had been waiting on me, in a "well, look who finally decided to show up!" nasty tone of voice. I responded that it wasn't on me, it was due to the airline (since I had been at the service desk), and he said "Well not really -- we can see you've been in the airport since 9!" -- implying that I had just been hanging around wasting time and didn't decide to come to the gate until the last minute. I generally don't mind delays during travel, I figure some delays and mix-ups are inevitable. But it is just unbelievably rude for an airline to blatantly and nastily blame a passenger for a delay that was due to the airline's lack of communication and lengthy service wait times. read more

semi-business and unprofessional company that does not deserve to be a member of the Lufthansa group. Zero attention to the end user. I had a negative experience with damaged luggage where I was offered some partial solution with the company Dolfi who does not respond to emails. Pure transfer of responsibility from one to the other. Absolutely no protection of users or responsibility towards them. damaged LUGGAGE NON-REFUNDABLE WITH A VOUCHER FEE TO BUY ON THE SITE WHERE THEY CHOOSE. Well it took 2.5 months, but Austrian Air did reimburse me for the cost to ship my bags from the UK back to the US. The actual costs turned out to be more than $1200. In the end what I had to do was enter the details of the "claim" on an Austrian Air website that I found. Once I did that I received periodic emails indicating that they were working on my claim. I think I received about 4 of those emails. Finally, I received an email which asked for my bank Routing and Account Number information so that if they determined they were going to provide some reimbursement, they would be able to do so. I was reluctant to do that as someone attempted to scam me based on a post about this incident I made on X, but the email looked legit so I crossed my fingers and provided the info. I received another email a few weeks later telling me the transfer would take place and about 10 days later the money showed up in my account. Thank you Austrian Air for doing the right thing. read more

Never. Fly. Austrian Airlines out of O'Hare. Agents at check in were unhelpful, did not give us our ticket information. Sent us away because we were late, even though we weren't. We were told we shouldn't even have tried to come. They were extremely condescending. There was another couple who also had the same exact issue but for a different flight. The husband told a supervisor he spent $6000 on their trip and she said she didn't believe him. Both supervisors were rude. One was legitimately verbally abusive to a young girl next to us, saying "you booked this yourself? And what you didn't think to pay attention to what you were doing? Now look I have to fix this mess you made." Then when we went to ask about our check bags they said they couldn't help now because they were closed. And walked away. I actually don't think I've ever seen worse treatment of customers. read more

"Is that guy wearing a chef's hat? Get out of here!! This air carrier has a personal chef?" The things that amazes a first-time International traveler. It's truly not my first time traveling out of the country, it's my first time flying out. After I've devoured my Farmhouse salad from Potbelly, the flight attendants served dinner on the plane. Sitting here, bug-eyed. Thinking, "Damn I am greedy!" As I select the pasta and mushrooms over the chicken and rice. Both dishes was served with a miniature garden salad and a cheesecake dessert - kinda like an airlines meal prep service or a healthy TV dinner. Not to mention dinner was followed by a serving of coffee or tea; then later, another round of beverages. I chose white wine to put me to sleep. Is this level of hospitality the norm when traveling international? I'm looking forward to re-creating that pasta and mushroom dish and flying with Austrian's airlines again. As if I wasn't satisfied with the economy seating which I thought was better than average economy to Austria, breakfast and lunch was also served and the client boosted my seats to premium which included ear buds, a blanket and pillow, a cup holder, and a sleep mask on my return to the states. Now I see why the Austrian Airlines host tooted my horn for having a great seat from the states to Vienna. read more

Terrible organization. Pay for extra amenities just to have them taken because of issues on their end. Ridiculous
Austrian usually perpetuates the quality of service that made them famous.but the check in was strict as they weigh in the carry ons( not more than 10 kgs)! Otherwise, the business class section was near empty; the flight attendant for this morning flight to Paris was very attentive and the excellent breakfast was promptly served: musli, croque monsieur and a fruit salad ; all fresh and the sandwich was piping hot! There were also an assortment of warm croissants and different breads. They put the light down so one can finish a nap and soon , Paris was announced. Hello, I am a frequent travel and i have used Austria Arilines for over 20 years now for me and my family And i have never been more discussed as of today on the flight 0769 I traveld to Denmark and iceland and i came to Vienna and than anted to go to Kosovo so my kids can get some culture back, We had wonderful flights from USA all over but when we got on this flight the flight attendant which her name was Ferus was incredibly rude and mean to everyone including my two year old and to keep her quite i gave her an ipad with very low valume and she came yelling and told me to turn it off cause its bothering her personally and when I asked her if my baby crying would bother her she said do you want to be kicked out of plane and stay in Vienna How rude?! I just cant believe that an airline like the Austria Airline would allow someone so rude for no reason and she continues to yell at everyone on the flight old an young like she is a god and everyone didn't just pay for their flights and yeah she came back and said next time you should fly privately I did tell her she is rude She didn't seem to care Anyway No one likes to be treated like garage specially after we paid so much for our flights with an airline that we grew up with I hope someone could do something about this I would appreciate feedback or a comment back or a talk to your crew read more

This is easily the worst airline I have ever flown, which was very disappointing since it is part of the Lufthansa group, and I have had very good experiences with Lufthansa. I am fairly forgiving of airline food, given the limitations of serving large numbers on an airplane, and this is the first time I would term the food actually inedible. We flew Economy Plus, so presumably what we ate was slightly better than regular Economy, not as good as Business or First Class, but I did expect it to be edible. Who thought a tasteless, heavy dumpling in a sea of bland shredded pumpkin was a good idea (no, I'm not a vegetarian, that was the only choice for breakfast), or forgot that low-priced meats could be something other than brick-like and dry? Who thought dry, stale rolls were acceptable? No cream in the creamed spinach, potatoes still hard. At least the wines and coffee were good. Service from some (definitely not all) flight attendants was rude. When the curtain was pulled separating Economy Plus from Business, I assumed I needed to use the rest room at the back of the plane, but I got grief when I was returning to my seat--the stewardess thought I was an Economy passenger attempting to explore the higher-priced sections, and she grabbed my arm and said the upper part was for premium passengers. I showed my ticket, and then was told I should have used the bathroom in front, not the one in back. (Was using the economy bathroom really an issue?) To be fair, she was nice from that point on. A stewardess on our return flight was far worse. Audio went out while the person next to me and I were watching movies, and he pressed the call button. The attendant came and spoke only to him--she actually spoke over me when I tried to explain I was having the same issue, and that happened each of the three additional times she returned to our area to see if any of the attempted fixes worked. Not even eye contact with me. Note that I am a very polite person and spoke gently and politely each time; my seatmate noticed and commented on her unwillingness to acknowledge that both of us had the issue. I would have been perfectly happy if she had just made eye contact and said something like "sorry, ma'am, we will try to take care of it," even if she had been unable to resolve the issue. I saw other attendants smiling and helping others, so definitely there were kind and attentive attendants on board. I suppose anyone can have a bad day, but I really hope not to have to fly this airline again. read more

On December 1 I had a series of unpleasant experiences caused by Austrian Airlines and its employees. Your flight OS0516 was late and I missed the connecting flight. This caused serious inconvenience, as I had an important meeting in Skopje first thing in the morning. When I told the flight attendant that I do not want my bag stored several rows behind (because the overhead bin was already packed), as I will be running to the gate, she rudely responded, "Well, next time you should book flights with more time to catch the flight." I had to remind her that the reason I would have to run is that Austrian Airlines are late in take-off. At the hospitality desk in Vienna, the staff refused to assist me because they were closing well before 11PM, even though I and other passengers were in line well before 11PM. When I demanded that they do their job, they proceeded to address me in an extremely unrespectful and rude manner. I demanded the clerk's name, so that I can file a complaint. When she refused to give it, I photographed her. This upset her, even though there are no signs anywhere that forbid taking photographs. She threatened to call the police, which I welcomed. Eventually, no police arrived. They never assisted me, in spite of the fact that the initial problem arose from Austrian being late and causing me to miss the connecting flight. I used to fly to New York all the time on Austrian. I stopped and took my business to Turkish because of your surly, rude and arrogant employees. They are bad advertising both for Austrian Airlines and for Austria. On top of it all, the feedback web address they give you at the airport does not receive comments. read more

This will be a lengthy post. I have no idea whether anyone will find it interesting. For those who read it in its entirety, I'd be interested in your views. In January 2024, we purchased roundtrip air tickets on Austrian Airlines (AA) from Dulles Airport outside DC to Vienna, Austria. We were supposed to fly to Vienna on April 29, 2024. The day before our flight, I received an email from AA announcing that our flight had been cancelled and AA would make alternative arrangements for us. I called AA quickly to make those arrangements. I made a new reservation for us on the same flight for the following day. I didn't change our return flight in October. AA allows international passengers to check in two days before their flights. So, about 40 hours before our October return flight, I tried to check in. I tried numerous times but kept getting an error message. Our reservation appeared on my AA web account and on my AA App but I couldn't check in either on my laptop or on the AA App. I called AA's customer service at least three times during the two days before our return flight. They informed me that AA was having technical difficulties with its computer systems and that we should arrive early to the Vienna airport to check in there. On the date of our return flight, we arrived at the Vienna airport about two hours and 40 minutes before our flight. We tried to check in at the self-service kiosk and an AA representative offered to help us. With her assistance, we tried to check in three times, all without success. She escorted us to the baggage service counter where she told us another representative would be able to help us. The woman at the baggage counter was able to find our reservation but not our tickets. She made some calls but was unsuccessful. After about fifteen minutes, she directed us to the AA ticket counter. We spent the next 70 minutes or so at the ticket counter working with three AA agents, one of whom was the manager. The first woman also said she found our reservation but not our tickets. She said she couldn't give us our boarding passes without our tickets. Her first solution was for us to purchase one-way tickets to Washington DC. I told her that was ridiculous; that we had already paid for roundtrip tickets and would not pay for more tickets. She said that when AA rebooked us in April on our flight to Vienna, AA had cancelled our return flight and had given us refunds of $66.90 each to convert our two round trip tickets to one-way tickets. I scoured my credit card statements and I found the AA refunds in my June statement. However, I never received an email from AA notifying me of a refund for a roundtrip to a slightly less expensive one-way trip. And, because AA had downgraded us from premium economy to regular economy from our cancelled to our rebooked flight in April, I thought any refund was to compensate for that downgrade. The manager of the ticket office was the only AA representative who actually listened to me. She agreed that it made no sense for our allegedly cancelled reservation to remain on my AA web account and on my AA App. She had added that we had done nothing wrong. The manager told us that this was the only time in her 23 years at AA that this had happened to any passengers. She told us she would figure out how to fix it. It took her another 20 minutes or so but she finally called us over to collect our return flight tickets to DC. She said she was unable to seat us together, but she'd call ahead to the gate agent to see if she could do that. We finally checked our luggage and walked hurriedly across the airport to security, border control, the customs VAT refund office, and our gate. When we arrived at the gate, passengers were already boarding our flight. The gate agent told us she would likely be able to seat us together and she was able to do that. The flight was completely full. All in all, our return trip was stressful. There was an hour or so when we thought we wouldn't be allowed to board. I wonder whether AA will credit us our frequent flyer miles for our return flight. Any thoughts? read more

My husband and I traveled with our 6-month-old daughter from Texas to Austria this past September, and while our baby was an absolute angel, Austrian Airlines made this trip a nightmare. Our flight from Texas was delayed over an hour because they didn't have enough staff to load the plane. This delay caused us to miss our connecting flight -- through no fault of our own. When we went to the Austrian Airlines counter for help, we were told our only options were to wait until 10 PM for the next flight or take a train. Neither was reasonable after already traveling so many hours with an infant. We asked about a refund for the missed connection and were told to email customer service. After doing so, they denied our request, claiming we had "enough time" to make the connection -- completely ignoring the fact that a customs trainee held us up by unpacking and testing every single item in our carry-ons. Because of that delay, we missed our flight and were forced to rent a car and drive four hours to our final destination at our own expense. To make matters worse, Austrian Airlines then canceled our return flights entirely because we missed the final leg on the way there. We had to pay to reinstate those tickets, and we also lost the money we spent upgrading to extra-legroom seats. Our return flight ended up in cramped seats with zero legroom, despite having paid for the upgrade. And as if that wasn't enough, when we finally arrived back in Texas, our brand new $120 suitcase was completely destroyed -- split wide open and literally wrapped in rope by the airline to hold it together. I even have video proof of them wrapping it. Throughout all of this, customer service was dismissive and offered absolutely no assistance, compensation, or even an apology. I strongly recommend avoiding Austrian Airlines. Their flight schedules are far too tight to realistically make connections -- especially for families -- and their customer service is completely unhelpful when their own operational failures cause problems. Save yourself the stress and choose another airline. read more

To Speak directly at Austrian Airlines call +1 (888) 305-4803 (US) for '24/7 customer service' assistance with new bookings, flight changes, and cancellations. This line is available to connect with a live agent anytime, including for urgent issues. General customer support options can also be explored through their website. As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. That changed with Royal Jordanian. I will never ever fly Royal Jordanian again!!!! Would rather pay twice as much and get to Amman in 3 days then fly this airline. Rather take any other airline that go through that hell Again. read more

I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Austrian Airlines that has left me frustrated and dissatisfied. I was scheduled to transit through Austria on my journey, but it was disrupted due to a major oversight on the airline's part. Despite arriving at the airport on time with all my valid documents, I was denied boarding by Austrian border control during check-in. The Austrian Airlines employee at the flight stand submitted a request to the border control, which was refused. This verification should have been done beforehand, during the ticket purchase process, to avoid such issues. I received no prior communication from the airline indicating there might be a problem with my transit (visa not required, as it was the same airport and I had no intentions to exit airport during transit). To make matters worse, the airline's response to my request for a refund has been unsatisfactory. They declined a refund, despite the clear error being on their part. The airline's poor handling of the situation, lack of proactive communication, and refusal to provide a refund as per their own employee's assurance at the airport have been extremely disappointing. I expected a much higher level of service and accountability from Austrian Airlines. I would strongly advise anyone considering flying with Austrian Airlines to be aware of their inadequate customer service and lack of responsibility in handling critical issues like this. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating, my vacation was ruined, and I will certainly think twice before choosing Austrian Airlines in the future. read more

***!$! Smooth booking and friendly staff, but the overall experience felt pretty average. **My experience with this airline was a mix of convenience and frustration. Booking the ticket online was quick, and the website was easy to navigate. I appreciated how fast the confirmation email arrived and how clear the initial booking details were. Check-in at the airport was also fairly smooth, and the staff at the counter were polite and professional. **However, things started to go downhill once the flight was delayed. Updates were limited, and announcements were unclear, leaving passengers guessing about departure times. Onboard, the cabin crew was friendly, and the seating was reasonably comfortable for a short-haul flight. Unfortunately, my luggage did not arrive with me, which was the most frustrating part of the trip. While staff helped file a report, the lack of proactive updates added to the stress. **Customer service eventually resolved the issue, but it took longer than expected. Overall, the airline offers decent service, but better communication and improved baggage handling would greatly enhance the experience.*********** read more
GREAT. Flew business-first from Chicago to Vienna, Vienna to Tehran, Bucharest to Vienna and Vienna to Chicago. Great service. Lovely staff. Missed my connecting flight from Vienna to Chicago. They attended to me well and professionally. In fact, worked out well as I ended up staying in Vienna one more day and did some shopping (had to....my luggage was gone). They took care of the hotel (i did not expect it), had a car (mercedes) take me to the hotel and pick me up the day after. Not bad!! I did not expect any of these and would have happily paid for all. I was surprised when the customer service lady said all was taken care of. In America, we call bad weather "Act of God" and airlines bear no responsibility (fair, as far as I'm concerned). The only semi negative comment: Seats are fully reclinable which i appreciate. So you still have a flat bad but the way the configuration is the back of the seat in front of you is still too close to you. Food. Really nice. They have a chef on board. So far, i have flown Austrian about 4 or 5 times and each time appreciated their service. Thanks y'all. read more

This is absolutely infuriating! THE ABSOLUTE WORST AIRLINE COMPANY ON THE PLANET. I had the misfortune of flying to Warsaw from Vienna in June, and what a disaster! I had to wait for my luggage for a whopping 4 days! As if that wasn't bad enough, I'm still waiting for compensation for the nightmare of a stay without even my underwear. It's been over 6 months, and all they keep saying is "we have delays." This is beyond outrageous. There's not a single response, no status updates, NOTHING! It's a complete and utter mess! read more

Terrible experience. They lost my luggage for my flight to Amman. It didnt arrive for 6 days. Communication with them during this time was extremely difficult. They only partially reimbursed me for expenses due to the loss. Then, when my return flight was canceled, I received a very minimal reimbursement for that. In addition, the long flight from Vienna to Amman was uncomfortable. Very dissatisfied with service and will avoid Austrian in the future. read more

My most recent flight with Austrian Airlines pleasantly surprised me. One can make reservations by calling 1-866-372-2118. I hope that's useful! My tickets were purchased from a travel agency. We received a really generous discount from them, and they also gave us comprehensive trip details. I liked the range of films and music available for entertainment. Additionally, the seats were really cozy. They also presented us with complimentary wine. read more
