As far as the lounge itself, I'd call it average. It was pretty quiet when we were there, but that's always dependent on the flight schedules. It looked like there might have been a small selection of hot snack for lunchtime, but we had to leave before they came out so YMMV. If you have to use the bathroom, use the ones next to the main food area, don't follow the signs behind the checkin desk, those were sub-par.

Upon entering the HON Circle & Lufthansa First Class Lounge, there is a refrigerator full of drinks. Located in the corner, was a self-serve liquor section along with an espresso machine. Next to that was the food section, which included crudité, bread, and appetizers in single servings. There was a section of hot food, fruit and desserts as well. Catering is done by CO & DO. The food was good, but was probably untouched throughout most of the day, as it did not appear that many passengers passed through the lounge on a daily basis. On each table, there were also martini glasses full of almonds, and other snacks. The lounge itself is somewhat small, with several tables in the middle of the lounge. There was also a small, walled off section facing a TV, and two chairs along the far wall. We were the only people in the lounge for about 30 minutes, before several other passengers arrived. Unfortunately, the lounge was mostly unstaffed throughout the visit. One lounge attendant came in several times, but only to bring out new food. All in all, the HON Circle & Lufthansa First Class Lounge was very underwhelming based on this visit.

There was just one overworked staff member who had to clean up and keep replenishing the counter. She was doing her best, but you could see that she was completely overworked given the sheer volume of people using this lounge. Washrooms were fair. Most reading selection was obviously in German, but we did find a couple of English newspapers. We entered around 5:30. The hot meal option was jasmine rice and Thai vegetables. There was an apple celery soup and a beef consommé (that was supposed to have pancake strips according to the description, but didn't) Then there were chips, nuts and pretzel sticks. The last section was a couple of vegetarian salads and 2 dips. No meat at all The beef consommé was fine. And once I added sufficient Tabasco, chives and croutons to it. It made a fairly filling snack, so I won't binge on junk when we land in LHR after 5 hours.
