Great staff and a pretty ok selection of drinks and snacks. Comfy and quiet but keep an eye on the time as they do not announce departures.

A small lounge and completely full of people. The separate Emirates area was nice to have, but filled up quickly.

Since Austrian Airlines does not have a first class cabin from Vienna to Frankfurt, I thought we would have access to the Austrian Senator Lounge. Upon entering the HON Circle & Lufthansa First Class Lounge, there is a refrigerator full of drinks. Located in the corner, was a self-serve liquor section along with an espresso machine. Next to that was the food section, which included crudité, bread, and appetizers in single servings. There was a section of hot food, fruit and desserts as well. Catering is done by CO & DO. The food was good, but was probably untouched throughout most of the day, as it did not appear that many passengers passed through the lounge on a daily basis. On each table, there were also martini glasses full of almonds, and other snacks. The lounge itself is somewhat small, with several tables in the middle of the lounge. There was also a small, walled off section facing a TV, and two chairs along the far wall. We were the only people in the lounge for about 30 minutes, before several other passengers arrived. Unfortunately, the lounge was mostly unstaffed throughout the visit. One lounge attendant came in several times, but only to bring out new food. All in all, the HON Circle & Lufthansa First Class Lounge was very underwhelming based on this visit.

Arrival was a quick transition after landing to picking up our luggage since we were flying from another Schengen country. Departures was a little more work since LHR was non-Schengen and Austrian's website would not let us do online check-in. It was quite fortuitous that we spent the night before at the NH Collection Vienna hotel which was right next to the terminal. We were able to head over and talk to the Austrian Airlines desk and she was able to fix the hiccup in our reservation and got our boarding passes printed! She would've even allowed us to check our luggage if we didn't need it. We only tried one restaurant in VIE which was at Wolfgang Puck's (reviewed on Yelp separately). It was located outside of baggage claim, quite large and can't be missed if you want a meal/drink before or after your flight. As a Star Alliance Gold, I was able to get the fasttrak security but ended up falling in the regular line since my SO didn't get the same benefit with her Star Alliance Silver status. There were a lot of lines open that early AM but very chaotic since some passengers just couldn't follow instructions. Then they ran out of trays......so we had to wait.....and wait some more. Immigration was a lot better with faster processing compared to our earlier EU trip in January. Hopefully this meant the EES system was getting more of the bugs out. With our extra time on our hands, we arrived well before the Austrian Airlines lounge opened so sat out in front. We were one of the first ones inside and ate a decent hot breakfast before our flight. We stayed here until it was time to board so we did not get to see much else in the terminal. Besides the chaos at security, VIE was one of the better EU airports to transit through and find what we needed.

The check in desk's, security very tight day to navigate. It is a major bonus if you have FassPass & a business airline ticket. I know I'm very lucky. However, the process here is seamless.
