On November 21st I called to see if my insurance notified Gerber for two car claims I had. Although Gerber did not receive either claim, I had already received an estimate for cost for one of the vehicles. The person I spoke with said I could come in on November 22nd to have the vehicle looked at. On November 22, I arrived at Gerber. I went to the front desk and the person working the front desk did not inspire confidence. After explaining why I was there, she asked if I knew who I spoke with and I did not as I was told there was only one person that handled my company's insurance (USAA). Ultimately I left, called my insurance provider and changed the place I would take my car to be repaired. My feeling is, if the small things like customer greeting, addressing customer needs on the phone, and attitude are poor quality, the important thing gs like repairing my vehicle would be poor quality.

I authorized Senn's to replace a fender and provided a deposit to cover the parts. Soon after I learned that my car had an engine problem that would be expensive to fix so that I would likely to trading my car for another. I called Senn's to see if I could cancel the order even if it meant forfeiting my deposit. Not only did they cancel the order, but they refunded my deposit, saying their organization wanted to be good neighbors.

I stumbled across Hagedorn Collision Center when I was in search of a nearby shop to get my side…read moremirror replaced. Nearby is now New Albany, Indiana for me and the search showed it was a couple minutes away on 5th street just off of the historic mansion row of Main Street. I called them up one recent afternoon and they told me if I was there before I think 4 p.m. they could see me for an estimate. The person on the other end of the telephone had to check if they had availability as they had been pretty busy recently but fortunately it turned out that they could squeeze me in. I had called a couple other places including in Louisville but the voice on the other end of the telephone was so sweet that it made me feel more comfortable choosing this place to take my vehicle. The friendly customer service made me feel as if they would perhaps be more attentive or fair in their work and prices and whether that's true or not, it's definitely proof that a good receptionist and good customer service is important. I believe the receptionist's name is Jenny. So the last name of this business is an uncommon one and obviously it's the same one as our very own Louisville Yelp leader so I thought it very cool that it was this place I chose to take my vehicle to. I mean I haven't run across too many Hagedorns and so when I brought up the name to the receptionist, she was surprised that I knew her and told me that she was related to the family business. Well after talking a bit, it turned out that it wasn't the same person we were talking about but that there were just two people with that same uncommon name in the area. Funny coincidence. I had a great experience at Hagedorn Collision Center. The family operated business gave the same friendly customer service in person that I had over the phone call. Everyone I spoke to had that Southern hospitality charm that it made me feel like they were welcoming me into their home. One of the Hagedorn staff got all the details from my vehicle and after a search gave me a couple of different options including one that saved me quite a bit of money. I paid for the part and a couple of business days later they called to let me know the part was in and that I could drop off the vehicle. They double checked to see if the the part was indeed the correct one and after confirming, they told me the vehicle would be ready the next day after installing and going through the paint department. The next day they gave me that friendly call and gave me a nice welcome back into their shop. They told me to check the vehicle to make sure I was happy with the work and after checking, I paid, they thanked me for the business and I went on my way. I hope I don't find myself in situations where my vehicle needs a collision center but I know if I do end up needing it, Hagedorn Collision Center will be the first place I call up. If you need something simple such as a mirror replacement, getting rid of any size scrapes or dents, or bigger work done on your vehicle, I can definitely vouch that Hagedorn Collision Center has amazing customer service, fair prices, and good work.

I chose Manning's Paint & Body Shop after my car had damage to both the front and rear…read morepassenger-side doors. The damage was serious enough that it clearly needed more than a minor fix--either dent repair, replacement, and definitely repainting. I went through my insurance, and Manning's was one of the closest options to me. They also had a high number of strong reviews, which helped me feel more confident choosing them. Getting started was easy. When I called, they said they could get my car in within about a week and a half, and I was able to schedule an estimate almost right away. At the estimate, I was initially told my car would be done by the beginning of April, so I dropped it off on March 12 with that timeline in mind. After they got further into the repair, though, I was told the completion date would actually be April 21. That was a big difference and definitely frustrating, especially since I was relying on insurance for a rental car. I had to change the type of rental I was using just to stretch my rental coverage and avoid paying more out of pocket. The good news is that the car was actually finished much earlier than that revised date--at the very beginning of April--so I was very relieved it ended up taking less than a month. And most importantly, the repair work itself was immaculate. You genuinely cannot tell the damage was ever there. The paint and body work turned out beautifully, and they did an amazing job restoring the car. The other thing to keep in mind is the price difference. The original quote was around $7,500, but the final cost ended up being closer to $8,500. Since I was going through insurance, that wasn't as big of an issue for me, but if you're paying out of pocket, that kind of jump is definitely something to be aware of.

My experience with Manning's wasn't a great experience. My car was brought in for repairs ($10,000…read moreworth) and they put in OEM parts, but my left tail light which is a LED light stop working less than a year after installation. Prior to coming to them I was told that they guaranteed their work, but I was also told when I brought it in that they were not responsible for the light going out. I was really disappointed when they told me that and I was responsible for getting a new tail light and they would install in for free(I guess that what they mean as far as guaranteeing their work) I was and still disappointed in my experience and hope they will not disappoint anyone else in the future.

I was sitting in my car parked directly across from them and they didn't check my vehicle make, model, or license plate: Instead they sent photos to OnStar to collect their contractor paycheck. When I called OnStar they said they were told by this company my vehicle was not in the surrounding area. I screamed at OnStar and OnStar had the contractors turnaround. When they got there they had excuses. They said: "Your Chevy doesn't say Trax on the back!" (I'm thinking talk to Chevy I didn't build the car ) They still had the nerve to try and upsell me to let them install a new car battery.... in the POURING RAIN They wanted me to leave an honest review so here it is. Do not use them! Money grabbers! (The 2 guys are both cool, charismatic, friendly guys) Those are exactly the type of mechanics who will rip you off. They didn't even know it was an OnStar call when they walked up to me. They asked if I'm a AAA member.
