The cars for sale may "look" OK but if you're going to buy here you need an independent inspection, which will cost you $150 or so. I didn't do that so I didn't know the tires were rotten, the brake pads and rotors needed replaced, and the car (Mazda) got bad miles per gallon because it needed a new O2 sensor. And it had 3 blown speakers. Normal people don't take the time to go through the 150 things needed. Before I went there to look at the car I called and asked if I could put an ODB2 (diagnostic) reader on it - no big deal, any dealer would allow this. But after I bought the car I discovered it was missing a fuse and because of that I could not have known the O2 sensor was bad. read more

I bought a Jeep from here two months ago and was sold "extra coverage insurance" should anything be wrong with the Jeep. It had 148,000 miles when I bought it and upon taking it to the repair shop... a blow head gasket(& many other small issues). When I filed this with the insurance company they said they only cover GASKETS up to 150,000 my car now has 150,234... WHO SALES CARS AND INSURANCE LIKE THIS. When I went to cancel my "extra special coverage" I get this response from the women who runs that department. LOOKS FOWARD TO LOSING A CUSTOMER. She also told me it takes 60 days to cancel so I could be charged 84$ TWO more times. I had to call me bank and report them as fraudulent on my account to have them blocked. We dodged a bullet... I traded in my higher valued car for a cheaper car through Auto Nerds in Beech Grove. The salesman agreed they would pay off the remainder of my loan and I would get a car off of their lot in addition to walking away with some money left over in the form of a check. Within one day the check engine light came on. I replaced the part needed, no big deal. Four days after making the trade, I get a call from one of their financiers stating they made a mistake. The salesman I initially dealt with should not have agreed to the terms of the trade and they would not release the title to the car I took home until I either brought in or financed the remaining loan amount on my original car. I told him that was not what was originally agreed upon and I neither had that kind of money nor was willing to take out another loan to cover it. The financier stated that I either had to come up with the money or return the car I took home and the check they gave me and they would return my original car to me. I returned to the dealership and on the way there the check engine light came on again. I returned their car and the money and gave them the codes of the engine read. They stated they would have their service people look at it. When I got back to work it was already re-listed for sale. I purchased a 2008 Honda Accord for about $6000 from Indy Auto Nerd in June, and within 5 weeks, I discovered that the car would lose power and not get up to speed on the road. I contacted my sales rep at Auto Nerd to see if they had a 60- or 90-day dealership warranty or would offer any help to cover the repair costs. They refused to offer me any assistance. Instead, they referred me to their preferred mechanic, On Ramp Automotive (which they have ties with). My experience with On Ramp Automotive was another horror story altogether (see my Google review for them). Finally, 14 days and $1400 later, I have a new transmission, but the car doesn't work any better than the day I dropped it off. On top of all that, they quoted me an additional $920 to have the timing chain replaced. I decided to take the car home. I still can't drive it on the highway. Management at Auto Nerd is very shady, and they will not offer any sort of help if something happens after the purchase is made. They sold me a lemon. Whether that was intentional or not, I don't know. Regardless, don't expect to be treated fairly or receive any sort of help if something goes wrong. Well, we took our car for an oil change at the VW dealer, and apparently there is an immense oil leak and there were multiple fluid chambers that had an incorrect type of fluid in it, which can hurt the car. So our car has turned into a money pit. Not blaming this on the dealer, but apparently the oil leak was large enough that the VW dealer said they don't know how it could have been overlooked. Update: Happy to report that once we took the vehicle back to Auto Nerd, the owner was very willing to listen to our concerns and agreed to take the vehicle back. Less than 5,000 miles in and it appears that this vehicle had the codes cleared and a bad transfer case. The car will cost more than it's worth to fix and it looks a lot like they knew this when I purchased the vehicle. I thought I was buying from someone I trusted so I neglected to do a PPI or the due diligence I should have before purchasing the vehicle. I learned a $5,000 lesson from this and you should avoid this lot if you don't want to do the same. read more

What a joke! We had the car 2 weeks and the check engine light came on. To make a long story short, this warranty is ONLY effective if the new owners (us) has owned the car 30 days AND put 1000 miles on it. We were 160 miles short, so after we drove over 1000 miles, they then considered it a PREEXISTING CONDITION! We have now spent over $2000.00 in repairs and are only about half finished. Bought a vehicle from them - paid cash, and they let me drive off the lot with a broken windshield wiper blade, tires so bad I shouldn't be driving and a lot of other issues, but I was buying a used car so I was flexible. Go to put gas in the car and the VSA light comes on. First time I drive it, I have no traction, tire pressure light that comes on every day, even after putting air in tires, then it starts making a squealing noise. Take it to get a second opinion and I'm told to take the car back and I shouldn't even be driving it with all the issues it had. They give me the runaround for two days. Only find out that there's over $2000 of damage because the mechanic they sent it to is the only person who I can even get ahold of. The guy who sold it to me - never heard from again, last words I remember from him, "Well you guys are nice people and people will take advantage of that." And boy did they. Still tried to give them a second chance and went back because they said they'd put me in any car I wanted. Nope. Tried to put me in two cars that were not even close to what I had bought and then blamed it on miscommunication and that I wanted "a full SUV". Even though I said "No, I don't need three rows of seats, but I need more storage in the back than a car would have." He then tried to put me in a minivan. He wasn't listening to me and had no intention of letting me look at anything but the two cars he had picked out. The worst experience I have ever had with a business. I have spent the last year of my life dealing with this company's inexcusable incompetence. These people owe me over $200 and that number is growing, but conveniently enough every time I call the person who "must" handle it isn't in. She is apparently also incapable of answering emails. We bought a Toyota rav 4 from the lot in Greenwood nearly a year ago. The sales team very seriously misrepresented the inspection process and the thoroughness of those inspections. DO NOT trust a word they say about how they inspect the cars, or the findings of those inspections. After a couple of days the entire drive shaft system failed while driving my son home from school. When we took it to have it inspected there was a multitude of things wrong with the car that were never mentioned by Auto nerd, things that should have been apparent in the inspection they claimed to have conducted. It was going to cost us nearly $2000 to have it fixed locally, so I called Autonerd and they offered to have the car towed back to Greenwood to look at it in their shop, and guaranteed a cheaper price than what was quoted to us. Against my better judgement, I agreed. When they got the car they agreed that the drive shaft assembly needed replaced. However, I had to call them nearly 15 times over a two week period to get any information out of them. Every time I would call to ask them about what the car needed or to get a time estimate, they would say they would have to call me back. No one ever returned my calls. They told me they would call me to give me a quote on using either a new or used part before doing the work. They told me that they never used refurbished parts, and that any used parts that they used came with a 90 day warranty. Well, they not only did the work on my car without telling me what they were going to do OR providing a quote, but they moved my car to have the work done in a different garage without my permission as well. On top of that they DID use a refurbished part, which I very specifically told them I did not want them to do. The part DID NOT have a 90 day warranty as they promised, but a 30 day. Well guess what happened the day after I got it home? It was totally shot again. So now I had paid these people to put a broken part on my car without my permission. I called them again. I will give them the credit that they did eventually agree to let us use what we had paid for that car as a credit toward a different car on their lot. They did not have to agree to that, we could have been stuck with this toast car. But they did not give us a credit for the full price we paid, and they did not credit us the amount we paid for the terrible repair work that they did without permission, and they charged us dealer and title fees again on the new car even though during all of this time they had failed to provide us with the title to the first car in the first place. When we purchased the first car, we bought a warranty through the warranty program that they offer. When we got the new car, we needed to cancel that policy and start a new one on the new vehicle. The lady doing the switch assured us that they would handle the switch and that we didn't need to do a thing. Well, of course they never cancelled the first warranty policy, which resulted in us being charged $256.68 that we were not supposed to be charged. I have been emailing and calling since LAST OCTOBER to have this issue resolved and no one will respond to me. They claim they filed this with the warranty company, but I have not received a check from them and I can not get anyone at Auto Nerd to respond to me to help me figure out the problem. We recently sold the second car that we got in exchange and I need to cancel the warranty on that one too ( a warranty I am still being charged monthly) but no one will respond. So I will be asking for that money to be paid back to me too because this is completely on them and their inability to do business properly. Today I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I have put it off for a long time to give these people a chance, but this is ridiculous. Stay as far away from this company as you can. The people in the office constantly lie and the person who you will need to talk to is always conveniently "on vacation." You will always be waiting on a call back, but you will never get it. I purchased a 05 Murano from Auto Nerds/Geek or whatever they call themselves on 9/23 /19. We (my husband ) test drove it we pulled over during the test drive my husband checked under the hood, and underneath as best he could (he had hurt his knee and couldn't get on the ground) the only thing we noticed was a loud muffler. When we got back I mentioned the loud muffler, Ryan the salesman helping us just gave me a blank look. The Murano is beautiful not a spot of rust on it so I thought I could go ahead and replace the muffler. We took the Murano to Stewart's garage on stop 13 on 9/25/19, we told them to change the oil, inspect the car and let us know on the muffler. We dropped it off and got a call from them about 2 hours later. The guy at Stewart's said that this car is dangerous we should not have it on the road, he said when they were trying to inspect the Murano parts were just falling off in their hands it would cost too much to fix. We went back over to Auto Nerd/Geek to return the Murano and get our money back. Ryan told my husband they couldn't give us a refund we got very upset to say the least, and by then we were talking to a few salesmen, or as I like to call them slime. One of the idiots suggested that they could have the Manger of the garage come and look at it, as idiot one sent idiot two to the garage, idiot one then informed us the repairs would be at our expense. OK, so after ripping us off a couple of days ago they want us to pay them more money to make it right? I DON'T THINK SO !!!!!!! Plus I wouldn't trust any kind of repairs by them. I could also tell that they were enjoying us being upset they were just sitting there very calmly talking as we were so upset, I'm sure that they enjoyed it, probably the same way they enjoyed pulling the wings off Flys when they were kids. I checked into taking them to small claims court but from what I read online that would be a waste of more of my time and money. These slime balls already have the system figured out anyway. Purchased a car on February 9th, returned vehicle the following day for the same knocks that were heard during the test drive and to have them look at an oil leak that was present. Picked car back up on February 22 (Thursday) and the following Monday dropped it at a local mechanics garage to have them do a once over of the car since the oil leak was still present and there was still some knocking. On Tuesday, February 27th picked the car up from the mechanic and dropped it off at Auto Nerd. According to our mechanic, the car was deemed unsafe for driving and was in need of approximately $2,000 in repairs. Auto Nerd reluctantly took the car and informed us that it was sold "as-is" although they had promised to fix the oil leak and knocking from the get-go so they would do that but nothing else. Knowing that the majority of the issues would be resolved if they could correct the oil leak, my wife and I were satisfied that this was the best we could hope for at this time. Over two weeks later we were finally informed that we could come and pick the car up (March 16th). Please note that during all of the time that the car was back with the Auto Nerds, it was either my wife or me calling to get an update or status of the repairs. The service and professionalism at this place is non-existent. All in all an extremely frustrating experience that we tried to be patient through but have had it now that the car has been returned and the oil leak is still there. In an act of total frustration I dropped the car back at the Auto Nerds today (March 19th) and in so many words was told that they are done with us and they will no longer work on the car. Had these problems not arisen for a few months down the road my review of Auto Nerds would be considerably different. Jason was great to work with and actually, if it was left up to him, I sincerely believe that he would get this car fixed to our satisfaction. However, that has not been the case and the true colors of any business rise to the surface during problem transactions. This holds true in most facets of life. Performing routine day today activities does not define you; it's how you deal with those problem situations - Did you rise to the occasion and do the right thing ethically. This place is a joke for post customer service! They sold me a decent vehicle a little over a month ago. I paid cash outright for the vehicle. They told me someone just brought it on a trade in and they gave me a good deal on it. I just went to get it plated and title transferred. The BMV wouldn't transfer the title or plate the van bc the lien wasn't signed off on. This is a pretty big oversight for me especially in the business of vehicles. My paper plates are expired and now I cannot plate my car I paid cash for bc the lien, that I didn't have, is not signed off from the previous owners credit loan. I call AutoNerd and they refer me to Daniel. He can't get through to the credit Union and has to call the auction, mind you I thought they took it in on a trade in, and he could help me until Monday. I call Alex whom Daniel said could help me, apparently he can help me-no help what so ever, his exact words. I asked for an extension or something for my plates. I had plans to go of town. I pushed it to the wire on getting my plates but I had all of my stuff together and that lien date is the only thing that held my back from getting my plates. Both men were completely rude, Daniel was on his way to a funeral so I understand his excuse but I just hung up in Alex bc he just flat it told me he could not help and didn't even try. I hope he encounters the same predicament I was in when I canceled my weekend plans to go out of town. Alex also told me that when titles come they usually have attachments and mine didn't have any it is a paper title and I'm pretty sure it didn't come through email. Joke businessmen! We show up to get our car and they inform us that they have bad news. The bad news being that our windshield got bashed in the night before. No one ever called us or said anything to us but they were extremely pushy to get us to buy one of their vehicles due to the state ours was in. As you can tell the car is completely undriveable legally. They then informed us that they were not responsible for any of the damages even though there is no signs posted anywhere that they are not reliable for damages. we had to pay out of pocket for a rental vehicle, a tow, as well as paying to have my windshield replaced. And we had to deal with all of this well we had all the kids with us. I purchased a 2008 Cadillac SRX in October 2017 and I've had nothing but trouble with it. I was so excited to drive it off the lot because it is the nicest vehicle I've ever owned and then the issues started between the oil leaks, thermostat, and rear hub assembly's, I've put in over $2400 on top of the $6500 I bought the SUV for.
