I am the owner of a Viking Vehicular Gate Opener Model K-2. It was installed in June 2023 by Texas Gate Repair, San Antonio. The Serial# is 0722-K218-6623. Now they are now doing business as Automatic Gate Repair! Be careful. A few months later the "open close" limits of the gate went wrong. I called Texas Gate Repair in November 2023. I got a call back from "Michael", 210-478-9099. He told me how to reset the limits, and told me that the problem was my power source was connected to a GFCI that was wet. I pointed out that the weather was dry and it hadn't rained for two months. The system got worse and now the alarm is permanent and numerous red lights are on the mother board. I have had Robert from BOLT Electric check the power line to the unit and verify that 120V flows to the unit. He could not comment on the Amperes to K-2 unit because he did not know if it was supposed to act as an inductor, resistor, or capacitor. I have called Texas Gate Repair numerous times and left messages with their 3rd party reception. They have never bothered to even call me back. They were very quick to call me when they wanted the business and to collect my money. When it comes to post sales support, they have disappeared. I have escalated the matter to Viking Access directly. Let's see what they do. read more

Called the company and they had someone scheduled to come out very quickly. Technician evaluated our gate (external key pad did not work) and said they would send a quote which took several days and an additional phone call. Quote was for replacing a solar panel and a control board in the main unit, totaling almost $1,500. Did not address key pad problem in the quote. Still charged a large service call fee. read more

I have total peace of mind knowing that Anytime I have Any issues with my automatic gate, just one phone call or Text to Michael and it will be fixed timely, reasonably and professionally. On a commercial building, Texas Gate Repair's service after the sale has not resulted in the gate timer functioning according to specifications. Over the course of several weeks, the gate opened and closed at odd hours,two sensors were replaced for "being defective and incompatible" with the gate, their tech attempted two phone walk throughs with an on site maintenance man to correct problem to no avail, and yet refused to come back on site to correct improper timing that had been reported over a period of weeks. Their answer to all requests was ---- we will come out again but will assess another service charge. Our experience left a bad taste for "service after the sale" and Texas Gate Repair trying to get more fees for problems they had not fixed right the first time (and subsequent times). Would not recommend them. During one of our last conversations, their tech had the nerve to tell me ----I've tried to be nice but I can't keep coming out there when you have problems...it's not my problem. Owner is of the opinion IT IS YOUR PROBLEM until you fix what you were paid to make operable. read more

BUYERS BEWARE! Let me preface this review by saying I wasn't actually present at the time of repair. A guest of mine broke the gate. I share the gate with a neighbor, who called this company for repair. I was on the phone with said neighbor and repair man and the quote was for about $1200(repairman's words). After repair I received a $1700+ bill. So get quote in writing, stay on premises while repairs are done and be prepared to have damn near $200 just to come out and say your gate needs repair. The arm that was installed was quoted at $840 and was billed for $1100+. The repairman said this was the part that the software told him to install. Bait and switch? Now after the cold snap, gate is inoperable. Go figure. I'll update on the new repair. Also, there is no physical address for them. The address on website is does not exist. read more

Extremely professional and on time (which is something you normally don't see anymore). Michael is extremely knowledgeable about everything having to do with electrical gate systems! They got to work immediately and had it repaired like brand new in no time at all! I would highly recommend them to work on any gate systems that you might have! read more

Update: The person who responded to our review, Michael, was not present at install, nor has he followed up in person to our review, therefore he cannot know of which he speaks as it is third party through the installer. We ended up taking off the cover, grinding the weld, and moving the unit back 1/2 inch ourselves, which solved the problem. Had the unit been installed at the proper place on the platform, which itself was set too close to the fence, then we would never have had an issue. A simple site visit, as requested, without a $130 service call, would have allowed them to see the original install issue and managed it. Again, lack of after sale customer service as experienced personally, and noted by others on this page, will keep us from recommending or using this company again. read more

I called the company to get a quote for repair of an electric gate that closed off our driveway at our rental home damaged by my car. I sent pictures of the damage and they set up a date to send someone out to take a look. The person came out to take a look supposedly however he never called me when he came. There was no one home at the supposed time he came so for me to receive a $149 bill just for a rep to come out to the home and tell me what needed to be done to fix the gate was a bit of a surprise. At the time I was ok with paying the fee as I was trying to get the gate repaired ASAP especially since we had a break in at our place. I did not want to pay anything however until the work had actually been completed. The company tooks weeks to get back to me about scheduling a date for the repair. In fact I had to call them myself. The only follow up there was that was initiated by them was a bill sent by email for the consultation. After a month of nothing actually being fixed and not being contacted to even set up a date to fix the gate, I finally just contacted our property manager who sent out a great company that repaired the gate within days and did not do this whole process of taking one look then charging a $149 consultation fee. The other company came to assess the gate. They alerted me to the time they would be there and actually requested mt presence. They told me what was wrong immediately and set up a date to return for repair. Michael is pleasant and all but perhaps the company's process and follow ups should be looked into. Eventually Michael did reduce the cost of the consultation which I appreciate but it is unfortunate I paid for literally someone to look at the gate and never a follow up to fix it.I understand though they had to recover some money for whatever evaluation they did But their lack of follow up for actual repair was disappointing. read more

They fixed my residential powered gate when no one else could. These guys are HONEST, knowledgeable and affordable.

I called Texas Gate Repair and spoke to Michael. I explained what my gate was doing and he asked if I could go to the gate key pad. I did and he walked me through reprogramming my gate. I was so thankful for his help and offered to pay for the services. He told me to not worry about it and to contact them in the future if I needed help with my gate. He was super helpful and friendly. I will definitely contact them again if I run into repairs for our gate. Thank you Michael! read more
