Wanted to start the process for hip repair or replacement. Nurse Halley was very nice and considerate taking my info. She attempted to make an appointment and said there seems to be a problem and transferred me to Garrett an account specialist. He informed me I have been deleted as a patient because it has been over 3 years since I have seen Dr.Michael Bryan June 2020 actually 3 years and 6 months for COVID testing. I said to him I'm in my portal and I see over 250 lab results and over 300 physician summaries since Aug of 2005. I've been a patient over 17 years. He said he was sorry and there is nothing he can do. He then sent me to his supervisor Kassie. She said she was sorry that I was deleted from Mayo and they are not taking any new patients. I said I'm not a new patient. I said to her when I was working we were told years ago to establish a family Mayo physician with Dr. Michael Bryan so when you retire your grandfathered in for life. No body ever said to me to make sure you go in once a year to keep current. I have a portal and I read my messages. Why did I not get some reminder to come in as my 3 year inactivity would cause account deletion infact the most recent mail I have is from Carol Carrillo dated 09/28/2022 to make sure I have regular Medicare and a supplement and that Mayo does not take Advantage Medicare . I asked Kassie to speak to another supervisor and she was sorry and implied she was it. Times are changing, we are being canceled and slowly erased from existence. Retirement is not what I thought it would be.

Let me start with Patrick O'Brien's lack of hands-on attention during my PT sessions. After the first couple of sessions, he only spent 5-10 minutes out of a 45 minute session with me doing hands-on work on my lower back. The rest of the time I was doing exercises on my own that I could have done at my home. I say "on my own" because he was in his office on the phone discussing future training clinics or talking to his admin about other patient billing problems. In any event, paying no attention to what I was doing! Equally disturbing was the way Patrick O'Brien handled my bill. I finished my PT work in October and, more than two months later, in January, I received a surprising letter claiming I owed an additional $688. Unlike what I was told by his admin, It turns out that his therapy was "out of network" and I had not reached my out of pocket max. When I called to tell him how surprised I was to receive a $688 bill, Patrick O'Brien was not sympathetic. In fact, he came across arrogant, with an "I don't care" attitude. He just wanted his money! In fact, he never once asked how my back was feeling! Come to think of it, throughout my PT sessions I never really felt that he cared about reducing my back pain! There are lots of good PT therapists in our area. I will never use Patrick O'Brien again and because of the mostly non-hands-on therapy approach and the arrogant attitude he had when I approached him about his surprising January bill, I am writing this review so others can avoid having a similar bad experience.

For every other monthly review of my pain, medication. After five months of being with her, she decided to cut my pain medicine back. I didn't realize at the time, but it's because she realize that she shouldn't have been prescribing me. Both oxycodone and Buprinorphine at the same time. The worst part about it is I had gone through a horrible surgery. And was in extreme pain. And this is when she wanted to cut me back on pain meds, I called her and was upset, and she I decided to stop seeing me. I did not understand at the time, but now i've been told by several pain management companies that she should have never prescribed both of those drugs at the same time.So she was probably covering her practice!

I am changing my overall rating to 4/5 due to the hassle and frustration I originally had to deal with. That said, management and ownership did the right thing. Bad experiences (or just bad fits) can happen, but the difference between a good business and a bad one is what management and ownership do to address those issues. 5 stars to management and ownership, 5 stars to Trang, and 4 stars overall given my specific experience. I can comfortably recommend this location, as long as you are willing to speak up if you don't get what you deserve. After my first experience, I would not have considered this location in the future.
