Automotive employees can be hit or miss (one actually wanted me to find my Vin number to make an appointment...who does that). So I call back and next employee say that VIN isn't needed. Automotive Concepts was a top notch install company (tint, lift kits, etc) maybe four or five years ago and then a few years after that they were good but not great and today they are just okay. I mean they are just O.K. in every regard, their prices are decent (not great), their work they do is adequate, and their customer service is hit or miss (goes from really good to pretty lazy). I still have some work done by A.C. from time to time but they are no longer my top choice. There are other companies in town that do what they do and at a competitive price and usually a much better customer service experience with better work. read more

Terrible customer service and service. They picked up my Audi Q7 from my office, just days after I purchased the car, to install an auto start. Upon returning the car to me, the driver crashed into a Metro Transit City bus. The car incurred more than $20K in damages and was in the shop until 3 months. Finally after getting my car, the auto-start doesn't even work. The car won't even start at times as it doesn't recognize the key! They refuse to return my calls or emails. I reviewed a scion today online and decided I wanted to purchase. I called the crystal location and they told me that they could lower the price from 11,300 to 10,700. I drove and hour and a half to pick up the vehicle. Upon arrival at the crystal location I found out that they didn't even have the vehicle onsite! They then proceeded to tell me that because it has leather interior they decided to up the price to 12,900!!!! After multiple phone calls with multiple managers and supervisors it was stated that the scion isn't even ready for purchase yet, it hasn't finished its inspection!!! Beneath that glossy, shiny finish, and behind the scenes of that flashy showroom there is a serious lack of competence. I had heated seats installed in my car over 3 years ago by these guys and it's been nothing but trouble ever since. They get a star for some really great customer service at their service desk, but in every other respect I genuinely regret doing business with them. I had heated seats installed in my car in 2013 -- I was in to have them repaired more than once between then and 2015, and after the heating element failed *again* I decided to stop bothering all together. Their wiring hackjob has caused serious issues on my vehicle twice -- necessitating a complete rewiring of the original installation after shorting out my rear parking sensors -- I had to have the gauge cluster replaced at the dealership to the tune of $800+. I got a hold of AC Automotive's manager exactly once, to express my outrage, and when it became clear that I wanted to pursue reimbursement for all the issues his team's workmanship had caused me, he stopped answering my calls and stopped responding to my voice-mails. The guy literally screened my calls until I finally gave up trying to get a hold of him. I had the seats repaired under warranty one last time before they, again, stopped working a few months later. My car is back at the dealership now with a whole string of electrical maladies, and the technicians there can't make head nor tail of the wiring work these guys did. I for one want to know what kind of "professional" accessory company wraps and insulates their wires with ordinary ELECTRICAL TAPE??? Is there some kind of aversion to weather-proof crimps or shrinktubing???? read more

I am very saddened to have to share this review. I had been a long time dealer client and huge supporter and advocate for Automotive Concepts. I have sent countless referrals to them over the years and never thought twice about it. Unfortunately I am sad to say that I can no longer recommend them. I reached out to them in June excited to get them involved in some of my own projects. It took a while to connect but didn't think much about it and was just happy to get the ball moving. That was over a month and a half ago and they have not returned any phone calls and messages and texts left inquiring as to what was going on. I left a review similar to this a week and a half ago and immediately got a text from the sales manager saying that they would be in touch. I immediately removed the review thinking perhaps it was an oversight on their part. Apparently not because we are right back to square one of getting jerked around and blown off. Absolutely awful experience! Dropped off truck to get car starter put in (made the appointment over a week ago) they can't even open there doors on time stood out in the cold for 5 minutes for them to open the doors, dropped off the truck and they said they had all the paperwork ready and it would be done before 5. Called to see if they could disconnect regular key fob when they told me they didn't have my appointment or paper work and that a manager would be in a half hour later to see what they could do. Called back an hour and a half later 4 times for someone to finally answer the phone to tell me that could not take care of it today and could re schedule. Don't go here for a trailer hitch. It took two trips because they forgot to order the hitch, then said they'd give it to me for dealer cost. When I paid, it was $20 higher than the quote, and they hadn't added in the tax. The total bill at "dealer cost" was the UHaul price. The install without electrical took almost 3 hours; it makes me wonder if they just took it to UHaul. It wasn't a complicated job and I should have just gone to UHaul myself; it was closer to home and the total experience would have been less time. Lesson learned. UPDATE: I called John P. about his reply. When I made the original appointment Ryan wrote down one number of the VIN wrong. We corrected it the next day, but he forgot to give the correct VIN to whomever ordered parts. He was pleasant and fully admitted his mistake and offered me to do the work at the dealership cost. While I was really frustrated about a second trip, I liked how Ryan was a stand-up guy and owned the mistake and made amends, so I went back. John hadn't investigated any of this but I did like that he mentioned they took off the exhaust because the car was louder than normal. John turned me over to Deano and he offered to send a runner to my house to pick up the car and look at it. That solved my two issues; driving distance and time. They dropped the car back off a couple of hours later and it was back to it's normal sound level. Deano called and said they found the heat shield bolts in the front of the car were rusted and coming apart. They wired it up the best they could. I'm guessing either by putting the car on the lift or messing with the exhaust was all it needed to loosen the heat shields. Kudos to Ryan and Deano. I still feel this was a high end shop doing a simple job; it looks like they do a lot of body and electrical work. Felt like I was going to a plastic surgeon to have my nails painted. read more

I went to get a Rexing dash cam installed in a Ford Focus. I was told a two hour wait and it turned into almost four hours. The install looks good so far. It was $220 for running the wires and no set-up of the camera at all. They just do the wire installation. I'm OK with that. I just thought the wait was excessive. read more

They say bring the car back will look at it drop it off I can't drop my car off there and leave it I need to watch as anybody would every move that is made around your car as the owner sees fit to let the employees take whatever they want off of people's vehicles. Overpriced no integrity... I've had two appointments to go there but I keep being told to drop my car off and I cannot let these people around my car without me having my eye on them as well my speaker wires were cut and my woofers taking out of my box in the trunk I've had to replace the Rockford Fosgate speakers and I'm on hold with two different places to have my stereo reconnected as the wires were cut I assume in an attempt to steal the TV monitors out of it also read more

I had a problem with the sunroof on a pick up I had recently purchased not closing completely and made an appointment with automotive concepts to get it fixed. I took the pick up in the night before the appointment to drop it off. I explained the problem to Nate and he said lets go look at it. After a quick look, Nate said it just needed to be recalibrated, which he did right there. Not only did he fix the problem, but he also showed me how to recalibrate it if it happened again. I was on my way within about 5 minutes, no need to leave the vehicle. Nate and automotive concepts far exceeded any expectations I had and is one of the best experiences I have had with any service company. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Expended over 20 hours waiting, $700 ($200 to replace a harness AC cut and moved which came in contact with my battery and shut my ride down while traveling) and phone calls to their slick salesman trying to rectify the situation. I first visited Automotive Concepts to have undercar neons installed back in 2010. I had these lights installed 5 previous times dating back to 1995 and every time I paid between $300 and $350 with a 3- 3 1/2 hour install time. None of the previous installs gave me any problems. Automotive Concepts charged me approx. $460 and the install lasted over 5 hours, they charged my $180 for additional labor, and I left with no working lights. I was irate. They blamed the failure on a faulty part and asked me to return in one week. I did. The part was installed. My lights worked for 1 month. I called to set up a third appointment. They claimed the same part failed again. Another replacement was ordered and I had to come back yet again. The part was installed and worked for just short of two months. We repeated the process one more time (they did come get my car at work which left me with no auto for the day). After the second install, I began to experience electrical problems due to a loose battery. I was told the battery bar (which holds the battery in place) was adjusted and came in contact with the battery as I drove. I had to pay $180 to have the bar replaced. Automotive Concepts refused to accept blame here even though the mechanic confirmed my issues were almost certainly due to faulty install work. After filing a complaint with the BBB, I was able to recoup half my money back but never had working lights after. Every single step of the process was a complete disaster and Automotive Concepts not once accepted responsibility for poor work, never apologized for their efforts or wasting countless hours of my time, or offered to make amends in any way. I had to chase down their sales guy with countless calls (many of which were not returned) to get anything accomplished. Of the hundreds of companies I've worked/ done business with in my lifetime, it would be hard to rank any of them lower than Automotive Concepts. Very happy (that the relationship is permanently terminated) customer here. read more

Still waiting for a call back, which for this place Is NOTHING new. It's been two weeks now, to "talk to the tech" and she would get back to me. 3 trips down to New hope to get door locks fixed, locks not only DO NOT work, but alarm keeps goes off, also a tiny chip on the inside drivers door window , that wasn't there before the car went down the 3rd time. I can't trust the automatic locks they installed, because you never know if the alarm will be going off. To make matters worse, I can't even lock the drivers door now manually, because some thing is obviously screwed up. I never saw such a place that puts you on hold for 17 minutes at a time, or promises to call you back and then they NEVER do. I wonder just what they mean by "The customer is our number one priority" on their endless answering machine. Not in my experience! Please BEWARE!! This company sucks!! BIGTIME they sold me a big fat lemon!! I bought this car last August and they have had it "fixing it" more than Ive driven it...I bought a VW Passat and from day one it was smoking and engine lights coming on and burning lots of oil and gas. They said they were rebuilding a new engine but everytime they take it to fix it, I receive it in the same condition as I first had it in. SMOKING, SMOKING, SMOKING!!! They lie and say they fixed it but dont really do anything the proof is in the pudding....then they want their money on time and reported me to the credit bureau every month that I did not pay when they knew my car wasnt in running condition...it was times my car was in the shop with them and they would still call me for a payment. Im like wtf!! Im not about to pay for a lemon that is not even working please! I pay warranty on the car also and the warranty doesnt cover anything they dont reimburse rental fees if need be just go somewhere else they suck!!
