My first time. Honestly I'm glad it was here. I was immediately welcomed at the door. In less than a minute I was given a kimono that fit perfectly. Gustavo the trainer was very cool. Walking me through each step and move. He introduced me to the Americana and the Kimura. Alexis, Gustavo and team are very welcoming. The classes are run very efficiently and on a tight schedule. The gym has a nice and open feel, the window and door creates a nice cross breeze. My partners were all very nice and training was good. There was a variety of levels in the class so it's good for beginners to advanced students. On a personal note, it's to my advantage that the first class is slightly later so I can take care of my responsibilities before class. Getting into Brentwood can be somewhat challenging when there is traffic - so far, the parking has been ok. If you're on the westside, this place is definitely worth checking out. read more

Just a visitor passing through town. Didn't know much about Autore or it's lineage until after the fact. Been training jiujitsu for almost 8 years, and I can be honest with myself, I'm not a quick learner. I require many repetitions and an annoying amount of questions to the teacher about who, what, when, how, and why. I spent three days at Autore and attended several classes per day in the gi, and No gi (which I'm terrible at.) Professor Gustavo emphasized his approach teaching Brazilian Jiujitsu that was digestible to the student. He is able to articulate and demonstrate concisely.
