I'm beside myself for not posting a proper review earlier. I've relocated to LHC and am lucky enough that my brother (already a resident) had found Autoworks for mechanic work, this review covers over three years of Autoworks as my exclusive shop. I've been lucky enough to see them move into a facility worthy of their service. The first interaction I had with James was a 30 min phone conversation, ON A SUNDAY, to try to talk me out of $10k of work on my 2014 F150, cause it was only worth about $13k, and he didn't feel right about the work vs. value for me. Well, after said discussion, the replacement of 135k mile parts happened and I got a new 2014 F150. I have come here since, it is an honest, trustworthy, reliable shop that is going to tell you what work needs to be done and the price for it. I have just returned from an over 7k mile road trip with my "dream adventure rig", a 2011 Dodge Ram 3500 with heavy mods. They are in the midst of replacing the original transmission with over 215k miles with a new Jasper that I hope to put at least that many miles on. I had the privilege of ending the original's use in its last 10k miles hauling up and down 10 mountain ranges crisscrossing the US. Autoworks has performed pre and post trip inspections for me and OUR mission is to keep both my vehicles in proper working condition and road worthy until absolutely no longer feasible, this mission is being accomplished amazingly. The shop is kept immaculate and there is a very nice waiting area inside the shop. Took my vehicle in for a bumping noise. Got a call back within 30 minutes with recommendations. Turns out the parts were warranted at a different shop who said they had done the work. I cannot let the year end without writing a review for James & AUTOWORKS! He was personal, yet professional, and got the job done without charging an arm & a leg! (Seriously, I usually cringe when it's time to pay) I needed an ignition coil and although a small job, it is ESSENTIAL to your car being able to run! James was very busy that day, but ordered the part, put it in and charged a fair price. He also did a test drive to make sure my Camry was back to normal. I was soon on my way! I had a good and bad experience with this place. Took my far due to overheating. The good thing is they fixed it in under 3 hours but the bad thing is that I was honest with them and I told them that my car had an issue with my key fob and there's a special way to turning on my car, so when I picked up my car they told me that they will not do business anymore with me anymore due to (electric wiring issue due to key fob troubles) and that my car has too many problems. And I was charged for 3 hours of labor when the car was done in 2 hours and I questioned this and all they said was (it was a 2 man job and a lot of work). BEST SERVICE EVER!! I was driving cross country with my Family and had my Tundra Truck looked at by James and his family of mechanics. He fit me into the schedule same day to get me back on the road. He repaired my brakes in record time and saved me future heartache by identifying another issue. His services were Outstanding and his customer service was the best I've experienced. He even took me into the shop to show and explain in detail the problems that should of been identified by the brake service 2 weeks prior by the Toyota dealership. I did a review on Google & I was going to leave it at that, but the person who responded was so nasty, I decided to leave a review here too. They have a lot of good reviews, so one bad one shouldn't be a big deal. I don't like being targeted & I felt I was targeted by this "James" person. He doesn't want to take responsibility for his bad attitude. I had an emergency & needed a water pump for my van. I was on a trip from Calif to AZ. He padded the quote & was disrespectful. I really think he felt had a "live one" pulling into his establishment. I'm older. Yes, I have white hair, but I'm not brain dead. He gave me a quote. What he didn't know is I had been on the phone with my mechanic back home, told them what was going on. They told me what the labor & costs should be. He didn't pad it by a lot, but he still padded it. You can make a lot of money by taking a little here & there. And there's nothing illegal about doing that. He just got caught. When I told him I thought the price was a little high, he got nasty with me. I wasn't looking for something for nothing. I had the money. That wasn't the problem. HIS ATTITUDE was the problem. When he told me I'd have to wait 2 days for a repair, I told him I couldn't do that. I found someone who did the job & was respectful & didn't pad the bill. I don't care of you don't like my review. My alternator went out as I arrived in Havasu for the weekend. Autoworks was recommended to me by a local. Although they are closed on the weekend, James answered the phone. He got my car in right away, called me within an hr with an estimate, and had a tech repair my car on Sunday AM by nine. Made it home to Vegas with no issues... Initially, I chose this shop based on the reviews of the Facebook group Orchids and Onions (local). Since I am no longer on social media, I am leaving my review here. This place is AWESOME! I have had my vehicle in for a few different things in the past year (no, never the same thing). The owner, James and his employee Robert are both professional, knowledgeable, friendly, personable and helpful. This time (September, 2020), it was a rear main seal on my 2003 truck. There were issues with my truck once they started the job and they had problems finishing it. The estimate I received was for 8 hours of labor. They ended having my truck for 4 1/2 days! While doing the job, they discovered a few unrelated things either out of place or done improperly by the previous owner. They fixed these items without upcharging me. AND, even though they clearly worked on my vehicle for much more than the 8 hours estimated....I was only billed for 7.5 hours!!!! I'm sure they probably lost money because of how long it took to finish my truck. But James stuck to his estimate even though it took far longer. I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service there. I also priced out each job my truck has had, and AUTOWORKS was the least expensive every single time! Thanks, James! Wish there was a way to not give any stars at all. Heard good things about him, went into his shop, complemented him and his business - next thing I know, he's calling me and literally screaming at me because I brought my car in with the gas light on, and that made him run out of gas and supposedly compromised fuel pump that would cost 5 to $600. He was wrong. It was the ignition coil. He was extremely mean. Yelling at me. Had my car towed back to me without letting me know he was doing so. Oh, and also while screaming at me said my car was a "piece of shit." Horrible business. read more

Do not go to this repair facilities. Here is the short version of my experience, with detail later in review. My vehicle was throwing engine codes, running poorly so I took my ailing vehicle to Autoworks on a Monday but was not able to get an appointment to diagnosis the problem until 9 am Wednesday. James would not hear what I said about the problem because he did not want to be bias about the diagnosis. Fifteen minutes later he returned saying my vehicle was junk and under NO circumstances would he work on it. He pointed out deficits in my vehicle that were wrong, like my brake fluid was a quart low. I literally took the vehicle around the corner to G-n-G (928) 505-4499) auto repair and was on the road by 2pm. Detailed version. I was pulling a travel trailer and James was completely unhelpful or knowledgeable about any local information. After waiting 2 days, a 15 minute diagnosis on Wednesday, James said I should sell my Ford Explorer NOW and doubted I would get $300 for it. I told him I had just replaced the engine (40,000 miles ago), and transmission ( with 2 years remaining on the warranty) to which he berated the engine and transmission quality. He began to tell me what all was wrong with my vehicle: The engine oil was two quarts low (not true) and needed changing ( the oil had 3000 miles on it), the brake fluid was a quart low ( the brake fluid reservoir total volume is 1/2 quart). I needed new brake pads ( had install new pad just before this trip 3000 miles ago), Radiator was broken and needed to be replaced ( but was not leaking), battery cables needed replacing ( I am still using those cables 4 months later) and said how bad an owner I was. I have owned this vehicle for 8 years and put about 30,000 miles a year on it, this trip was on a 3500 mile road trip. Engine and Transmission replacement is about typical for this vehicle.
