Carlos took photos of the engine and told me he cannot give me $360 but rather $160 because it was missing some parts including a catalytic converter. I consulted with my brother and he said diesel engines don't have catalytic converter's. I am going to call the junkyard and sell it for scrap metal for $500 or more instead I would have thought a car service business would know that a Diesel engine prior to 1990 would not have catalytic converters. Makes me question the other things Carlos said were missing Consult with someone before you agree to the transaction. You can get several hundred more by sending to the scrap yard. We.called AAA and all they could suggest was to tow it into town. Every dealer and auto shop was closing up and we were told the earliest any one could look at it would be Monday even though we were 200 miles from home. We called Joel, he came right away and diagnosed the problem. He started with the easiest fixes hoping to save us time and money, but it turned out to be our starter. We towed the car to his car at 5 pm Friday night and he had it fixed, and us on the road by 8:30 the next morning. He worked on the car until 1 am to make sure we'd make it home on time. His price was reasonable, his workmanship was excellent and he explained the problems as he went. We were stuck and skeptical of how we were going to fix the car and Joel was patient and professional. He's great to do business with and we recommend him 100%.

I was headed to work the other morning and…read morenoticed my tire was flat, no big deal I just pulled up in the drive way and aired it up with my air compressor. As I was doing so I could hear all of the air exiting the tire, there was a HUGE whole in my tire from a 2-3 inch rusted nail! I'm sitting there thinking CRAP, not only am I late for work, but I'm literally stuck in my drive way with no way to get my tire fixed as I was home alone and no other spare vehicle to drive. I didn't want to call a tow truck as they're super expensive on top of having to pay to get your tire fixed. Then I remembered Elite Tire of Bakersfield is a MOBILE one stop shop (trailer :P)! I gave Darren a call and he was at my house in less than 30 minutes! He patched my tire and had me on my way in an hour or less. He also informed me that all 4 of my tires were extremely bald (my life is too busy lately I hadn't paid attention, I should have known, my dad taught me better, oops!) So Darren ordered me some new tires and asked when I would like them to be put on my car, I said ASAP. I went off to work with my newly patched tire, ran some errands and was home by 6pm and Darren was right behind me and showed up to install my new tires for me THE SAME DAY!! He changed all of my tires and also informed me that I need new brake discs and pads soon. He even took my old tires to the dump for me for a very small reasonable fee! Now that's what I call great customer service!! Darren does an amazing job and is very knowledgeable (I'm a very curious person and I like to know how things work so I ask 1,000 questions about everything, lol thanks for putting up with me Darren!). Very impressed and grateful that he got all of this done for me in the same day knowing he has his own life and family to attend to also. Recently I put an inquiry for a Mazda Miata they had on the lot at the Lindsay location. Put in a credit app. Texted with Edgar Rosales after sending him my most recent earning statement never replied after running my credit. Did not say anything if I was clear, if I needed a co-signer. I was curious on the rate their bank would offer as I already had one from Navy Federal Credit Union and I was ready to purchase. No reply.. 3rd try. I stopped at the Lindsay location to look at a Volkswagen sports wagon. Mechanical issues -leaking oil pan -alternator windings failing Moderate engine blow by -car calling for an oil change -and what really tops the cake is the car is sitting on the lot, dirty, with food crumbs scattered all over. When mentioned to the saleswoman (who stayed texting on her phone) she stated. Oh yea the owner had been driving it for a while. Vehicle is way overpriced Asked what kind of deal they could make being the vehicle has moderate issues. She took my name and number. Stated she would speak with her manager and give me a call later than day. This was 2 days ago with no response. Again.. I am already set and ready to purchase. Very very terrible customer service. If your military 100% steer clear of this place. They don't know what an LES is clearly.
