A good update…read more.. Some bloke at this Napa sold me a cabin filter for my Jeep on 12/31/2023. I didn't check it before I left because I was going to take care of it New Year's Day. Went to change it. The filter is completely different than the previous Napa-sanctioned one. It didn't fit. It's too thick. It's not the same quality. Made in a totally different country. So I returned it today (1/2/2023). Complained to a different, much more professional male employee. He quickly rectified the situation by quietly admitting the wrong one was sold to me. He proceeded to pull the new one out of the box. I confirmed it was the correct one. Got it for a straight exchange even though the new one was a few dollars more. Same old story. New year... It pays to know who to talk to. The real car guys/girls.

One coupon was a buy one get one free windshield wiper. So I went and checked the place out since my wipers have seemingly went kaputz... The place wasn't too busy mid morning at about 11:30. As soon as Logan, a friendly employee, said they didn't have any in stock. I should've just left because I wanted them in that moment. But I was waited patiently until Logan found for me some that would have came from O'Reilly's. A MasterPro pair would have been under $43 - not even mentioning the coupon. He didn't tell what size they were, though. I have never tried that brand of wipers, however, Logan said he's never heard any complaints about them. I didn't tell him this, but I thought, "Thanks, but I'll just head to town and get them myself and not have to wait a day since the rain has already started." Might price out some big o' tires here someday. Check them out in their "Big O" new shiny building just outside of Hobbs, NM, on the Carlsbad Highway. Closed on Sundays.

My boss went there after our meeting in mid-afternoon. He left my office at about 1:30 and I received an emailed invoice at 2:36. Not bad! I'm happy to report that we have a happy boss - "I'll be going there again." The crew was thorough, but quick. No issues. The diesel truck was a bit higher ($219.66) for the following: + engine oil drain & refill + oil filer + air filter + and labor The other truck is a Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Its total came out to $124.77. They provide detailed notes on their invoices as well as the names of the services technicians. My other boss lives in Seminole. A second location also recently opened there that is equally efficient! I'm a fan... especially since I don't have to listen to men whine and moan about their "trucks not being worked on right." Lol.

He didn't think I was funny. LOL. I drove here on 6/23/2023 so he could go inside to check in and tell the service manager what he needed done. I thought we could just stay in the vehicle, but apparently not. I didn't see any signs, telling us exactly what to do. We arrived at ZK Express at around 10 AM. We waited maybe at most 5 minutes as all lanes where occupied. The entire process probably didn't even take a half hour. He declined to have his air filter replaced. The rest of the bill came out to about $93. If he had issues with their work, he would have told me but he made it back to Colorado just fine. The two employees that I interacted with while we sat in the SUV were very respectful and worked efficiently. Also, this is huge for me as my "second dad" and my ex-husband both used to work in car shops: theirs is fairly clean. Not messy or trashy. I drive my brother's full-sized diesel pickup often - at least 8 times a week. He recently got a full detail cleaning on it here - ZK Express did an excellent job getting rid of dog hair, kid prints, and junk food out of the cab. No clue what he paid, but it might be worth it every few months or so. Definitely putting this place on my list.

The "tuner", Jose, conveyed to me that he was the only tech in the area who knew how to work on this particular model. The inspection report comes back with one major issue and everything else in great shape. When I receive the vehicle, the suspension is bouncy and rattling. Brakes are pulsating. Parking brake doesn't hold the car if pushed by hand. And it feels like there is drivetrain noise as well. Also "fluids checked out", but an entire reservoir is empty with a cap missing (seller later tells me, he's been driving it that way for months). The car has already been purchased and transport paid for. When I called about this inspection being faulty, I got an apology. But that was it.

The team was there to assist customers at both Mighty Wash locations. The other is on Bender Boulevard. I didn't go to the wash that day, but I did purchase two washes to support their cause. The "Might Protect" wash which includes a Carnuba wax ceramic clear coat protection and tire gloss was $15, "a $28 value - good for 1 year from purchase date." I ended up going there on April 16 to get my Jeep scrubbed. A nice man came out to the kiosk to assist me. At about 11:40 am the place wasn't too busy. Another younger guy waved me inside the washing tunnel and lined me up on the rail. I had never been through a drive-through wash where a "basic wipe down" was offered. Just as I was going through the blower air dryer, two employees waved at me to let me know they were there and continued to wipe down my Jeep. The vacuums were to the left as I exited the tunnel. They were free. Fairly strong. Trash cans were available so I could empty the back seat of my children's candy wrappers and whatnot. I wasn't rushed to get out of the vacuum area as they do back in California. There were some spots that I had to buff myself, but not too many. And of course, I dried the Jeep myself even more with my own towel. I'll be coming here more often... certainly to use the second wash I have before summer vacation. TIP Beginning on May 1, 2025 they will be "going cashless." "Cash tips still appreciated."

Vehicle required 2 minor parts that retail in a parts house would have been less than $80. And should only have taken less than 2 hours to install. They quoted over 4 hours with an estimated total of $997 before tax! When questioned about the outrageous estimate the owner came out of hiding and was a complete dbag. Condescending as hell and once he was pressed to guarantee his work his response was that he wasn't comfortable working on the vehicle. To which I responded I wasn't comfortable with his shop performing a $1000 hope and poke on my vehicle. The whole time the owner just chuckled when I asked if anyone had checked the ground on the fuel pump. He insisted that that's not how things are done. Paid $124 for a diagnostic that pulled the exact same codes I provided them when I showed up. Had the vehicle towed a second time to a garage about a mile away. Even though they were about to close they didn't hesitate to check the ground on the fuel pump and once they tightened it up the vehicle popped right off. No charge. I asked the new garage what it would cost to install the two parts master tech insisted I needed and was quoted $300 parts and tax included. I would rather set me vehicle on fire and buy a new one than to ever do business with master tech again. It was painfully obvious to me that attempting to taking advantage of travelers and out of towners seems to be an essential part of their business strategy. I wouldn't even trust them to check my oil let alone change it. Buyer beware!

I won't quote him on here because it was full of expletives. I understand though. He brought one of our company trucks up there and the job wasn't completed when they said it would be. It had already been four hours, but that was on a Saturday. So my plan will continue like this because it worked out well for me back on 10/21/2022: Go on a weekday first thing in the morning. Strive to be first in line. Park in front of a garage bay even if their doors aren't open. My appointment took a little longer because they had to special order a cabin filter which should have been delivered by O'Reilly's Auto Parts much sooner, according to one of the techs. Figures. Their lobby was being renovated when I was there. Most folks just stay in their vehicles anyway. The cashier comes to your window to take payment. My total was $194. 31 for a full service oil change, special oil filter (because... Jeep *eyes rolling*), synthetic oil, cabin air filter, air filter, and top off of all the other fluids. They inspected everything else, but I have no clue how thorough they really were. Cleaned my windshield and I was on my way. Place was packed by the time I got out just after 8:00AM.
