So... today my car battery died while driving on the highway after I finished work, and I had to be towed all the way to town. I frequent this location on occasion when I need parts and specifically when something fails or needs replacement. This time I needed an AC recharge kit or system in order to recharge the AC system in a Chevrolet Colorado as the AC is not as cold as it should be. The associate assisting with the location of the preferred charging system was thorough and explained the different levels of AC charging and their benefits. I eventually chose the mid upper tier and I am satisfied with my purchase. Cool topics can be discussed if they are pertinent to the evaluation of the industry and where it's headed. Upon entering we were greeted. This location is pretty big and can say that they have most of the necessity that most people need for their car care. Staffs are prompt and friendly and love the Aloha vibes in here. Every aisle is packed and this store is clean by far. We got in line after grabbing all the things that we need for our car. The lady that answered said she would check and to hold on for a minute. 12 minutes later ... I hung up. This is piss poor customer service and lack of follow through from their employees. Michelle W. Is the definition of the worst customer service I have ever received, she proceeds to open the store 5 minutes late with absolutely NO UNIFORM ON! And than goes to tell me she didn't sleep well and is tired, I go to the counter to inquire about my ordered brake pads, she continues to tell me that the pads aren't in the store that I have already paid for! She tells me that I need to get more information, I get the info from my bank and show her statements, (now she's trying to place nice lady). Used to like this place, but recently it seems to have gone downhill. called over 24x over a weeks time to check part availability, and no one answered the phone... not once. Then went into store, and had to wait in like for over 20 minutes with just 3 people ahead of me. only 1 person working counter. bought a few things, one of which was an extra so i returned it, and was not given full price back, even as store credit they gave me a few dollars less than i paid for a few days earlier, which isnt a big deal, but doesnt make any sense, then when i show employee price on shelf she just shrugs here shoulders and says well thats what the computer says. was so pissed off, just ended up leaving store. once i use my store credit, this will be last time i buy anything at autozone in Kona. read more

The customer attention and relations are amazing and much needed in Hawaii. I felt cared for and listened to when I spoke with the lady representative there. She spent the time to provide customer service and offered options with alternatives. I really couldn't believe the depth of her knowledge and offerings. Everything was covered. Lots of ideas and even one that included a competitor that offered something they did not. I felt like she should be providing customer care for every position in Hawaii. Yes it is an auto parts store! When I entered it felt like a dream routine for a NASCAR driver's break over lunch and a foreign garage experience for me. So it was like smelling rubber and car oil instead of perfumes and bathing oil. No interesting items catching my eye and no end caps filled with home decor or interesting travel guide books and items. Yet I was made to feel very comfortable.
