I then headed to O'Reilly's as I purchased my last battery there and was hoping that it was still in warranty, but it wasn't. That's okay. A personable young man, William, helped me. He tested my battery and said it was bad, got me a new one, installed it and even tested my vehicle's electrical system. Opening time is at 7:30, greasy headed manager walked up to the doors a minute before opening, opened a few minutes late and glared at me when he realized I was about to walk in. I walked in to request a battery test, he told me I would have to TAKE MY OWN BATTERY OUT OF MY CAR. So I had to wait for a family member to bring me tools so I could struggle to take out my battery. Never in my years of driving have I ever been requested to take out my own battery for a battery test. Horrible lazy employees who can't even open their store on time or properly service customers.If you need a quick and free battery test run 2 minutes down the road to O'reillys!!!! They are professional, fast, and aren't lazy like the "employees" at AutoZone.

I came in here one evening needing my car battery jump-started. They even have a portable jump-starter machine that is well-charged, but they had to wait until their delivery driver arrived (so one person would not be manning the store alone) in order for anyone to be allowed to leave to help me. (My car was about 100 yards away, in the Dollar General parking lot.) I went to another location to see if they had any portable jump-starters while waiting for the delivery driver to arrive. Once he came, one of the other staff members was able to jump-start my car battery within 5 minutes. I was also able to make it to see a movie in Athens, just in time as the previews were wrapping up. If I have any future car needs & am in the neighborhood, I would definitely come here again!

She…read moreseems to be the only one with a calm demeanor under pressure and have knowledge of any basic questions. I have had to switch out two alternators that were faulty. One drained my battery and I had to replace it and then the alternator I bought and had put on started acting faulty within a month. I should have had it tested then and there, but guess what? There machine was down. So next step was to call all the other stores and guess what? Every single machine was down. After going in to get another one, it was instantly faulty. Again tried to test it, but you know darn well what the response was. I had no choice but to drive home to wait on another part and my car broke down on the side of the road as the supposed "new" alternator completely warped my electrical system and my wheel locked while on the highway. Not ok and highly negligent as it placed my life in extreme danger. I had to go to O'Reilly's to get it tested and every staff member was knowledgeable. I'm a new customer at O'reilly's now. Auto Zone was good in the 90's but they have lost their way. Hired sub par employees that are apathetic and have zero knowledge about parts or automotive. Really sad. Go to O'Reilly's and speak with someone reliable and knowledgeable.
