Found this amazing shop while walking around. Great breads and service. The shop is quaint and only enough room for a few people to order at a time. 100 % worth it!!

We stayed at the Marriott Grand Place and were looking for a nice cup of espresso. As we walked down the road we found this small corner bakery on the corner and were induced to enter. They are known for their meringues and Merveilleux; a meringue coated in chocolate whipped cream covered with shavings of dark chocolate. While I am not a huge meringue fan, these are the BEST I have ever tried. Highly recommend at least sitting down for an espresso and a meringue. The staff was welcoming and the store and seating area are beautiful. An excellent spot to grab a morning or late afternoon treat.

Stopped in at around 10 on a Saturday morning to grab a few items. It had caught our eye another day because you can watch them making the pastries in the window. We tried a merveilleaux (small cake) and a cramique (Belgian brioche). The merveilleaux was too sweet for me but it's nice that it's small. The cramique was lightly sweet but I thought it was too dense. Maybe their other items are better? It was still mesmerizing to watch everything being made though.

The best place for tea time/coffee time in Brussels, Belgium.

The best place for tea time/coffee time in Brussels, Belgium. The service was very thorough and such friendly staff. The ambiance is very inviting. We were seated nicely in the middle booth area. The cakes are decadent and they have many flavors. I loved the pistachio most especially and salted caramel. I loved this place so much we came back again the next day and even took a take out. The price is $$ ams it's so delicious. If you have a sweet tooth this is the place for you. Their cakes are very light and melts in your mouth. I hope to go back here again.

The first place I passed by after exiting the Brussels Midi station, and couldn't resist entering because the smell of the bread was so good. We got a chocolate baguette, which was soft and perfect to re-energize us for the morning. Then, we got four mini meringues, and while I don't normally choose or opt for meringue, I really liked these since there were extremely light and coated with crunchy chocolate flakes.

I wasn't in Brussels long but this spot was definitely on my list. I was able to make it in and approached a decent queue. Thankfully, they are extremely efficient and the wait was a piece of cake. So what are they known for? The merveilleux, of course. They are soft, meringue cookie/pastry balls which are made fresh throughout the day by hand. We picked up a box of 6 which included one of every flavor. Between the 2 of us, we had different likes so...to each their own. These were definitely sweet. One is enough to curb your sweet tooth as they do come in different sizes. If you don't eat them right away, refrigerate to keep them fresh. A definite must try if you're in Brussels looking for a sweet snack other than waffles.

Came across this bakery on Yelp when I was planning a trip to Belgium. I bookmarked this place right away. A merveilleux is a small cake supposedly originated in Belgium or possibly north of France. We were amazed by the artisans making the merveilleux behind the counter. We got the sample box with 6 different mini merveilleux: dark chocolate, white chocolate, coffee, cherry, hazelnuts and caramel. The meringe and the whipped cream were light and delicate. The cakes were recommended to be refrigerated within 3 hours and served within 24 hours when we were there early June. We ate them in 10 minutes as soon as we left the store. They were one of the best treats that we had in Belgium.

Regular and mini chocolate Merveilleux - excellent!

Wow! My favorite Belgium dessert "Merveilleux" at the best patisserie in Brussels! So light and fluffy it's so easy to eat more than one so I had to get a regular and a mini

Yeeeeeees. I've passed by this place at least 5 times while walking back and forth from the hostel, and finally gave in. I'm on a budget so I got one of their small pastries- forgot name, but see picture. It was 1.30(?) ish. And it was a perfect sweet afternoon snack! It was so light and fluffy, i almost forgot i was eating it at one point. I'd definitely get the bigger one, even if it's just for you! Totally worth it. Or you could get the small one in many flavors they have available and do like a taster... i should've done that. Darn.

    Coffret 6 minis

The meringues here are absolutely delicious!! Light fluffy and sweet, pick any flavor and I'm sure you'll be happy with the experience. My favorite is the Incroyable. So glad to have stumbled across this shop. You know all their products are fresh because the pastry chefs prepare in front of glass window for the world to see!

    Speculoos!!!

A MUST while in Brussels!! Small and delicate, these little babies are amazing. The workers are very friendly and speak English. They explained what every pastry was and gave honest suggestions. We came here everyday while we were in Brussels and our favorite flavors were speculoos and praline! Also try the brioche buns! They were buttery and satisfying while walking around and exploring the city

The vanilla filling is to die for. We've taken visiting friends to Méert and bought more and more of their gaufres, but never had we actually eaten in. We decided, after seeing their luxurious looking tarts, that we had to try them. When we arrived, all the tables out front in the Galeries Royales Saint Hubert were full, as well as the small number of tables in the actual shop. We ordered our tarts and only had to wait about five minutes before a free table opened up and we were seated. We ordered the Tarte Yuzu and the Jardin D'Eden. You can read the description of both, and all the others, in the pictures I attached. We also ordered tea. I recommend smelling all the teas in the shop before you decide on which one to order, as they all sound delectable. The tartes were amazing. So we'll prepared. The Yuzu was both of our favorites, but the Jardin D'Eden, a pistachio confectionery, was in no way bad, we just preferred the Yuzu, mint and lemon confit, and the hazelnut crunchy layer. When we come been, and we definitely plan on coming back, we're going to get another Yuzu and try a different tarte for tarte number two for next time.

Again the wife and I were off on our journey to simple the various patisseries throughout Brussels. We had wanted to get a bûche de Noël around Christmas time and stopped into this patisserie to see what they offered. Although the Yule logs weren't what we were looking for we really took note of the delicious looking patisseries. We walked by numerous times prior to our visit there last week, and after grabbing a sandwich around the corner we decided it was time to finally get ourselves a couple little treats. The shark is beautiful and clean and quiet and we, after staring through the window with the prospective patisseries, decided to go with a strawberry rhubarb as well as a peach mousse. The red one with the cookie on top in the picture is obviously strawberry rhubarb, and the whiter one with the white chocolate leaf on top is the one with peach mousse. I remember it also having a tropical note to it. These were delicious. It was cleared that time had gone into them as the layers were well-defined and beautiful and the flavour of the strawberry rhubarb was very strong and a nice mixture of sweet to tart. It was my and my wife's favourite of the two, but that's not to say anything bad about the peach one. With seasonal patisseries and different varieties of cakes and tarts, you can't really go wrong if you happen to be in Châtelain to at least walk by the window and rule over these delicious patisseries. In fact you'll be better off stopping in and getting a couple.
