Now that everything has been processed and set, I'm comfortable leaving a review for this place. My roommate and I signed a two year lease and when the renewal came in it was $3 more to stay and re-up and we chose to leave. That should say enough. The staff - Excellent turned to just okay. The time that we were there just seemed like a revolving door of staff coming and going in that office. We signed our lease with Tyler whom is no longer working there and he was great! Then we got Christina and she was also great, but also no longer there anymore. But that only lasted a little under a year. The new leasing team do not seem friendly at all. They are extremely passive and seem annoyed every time you talk to them. The manager, Melissa is good! She's been there the entirety of the time we've been there. So if you need to talk to someone, I'd just recommend talking with just her. Not just because she's the manager, but she actually cares about you and isn't quick to brush you off like everyone else. The area - The area isn't so good. There's homeless living in the woods behind the buildings. They're constantly coming through the lot and always dumpster diving in the trash area and car prowling. I mentioned this in the Facebook group chat warning the neighbors and got blocked LOL. So they're definitely hiding something there because my roommate still had access into the group. Getting out of the complex to go anywhere the week before Thanksgiving until about New Years is absolutely atrocious and only got worse the second year. Even though you're right next to a freeway entrance/exit it takes a while to get to your home during that time. The amenities - The best part about this place, honestly. The gym is good and the pool area is always well kept and clean. Only available during summer. But it's open a good chunk of the year even with that. Parking - Visitor parking is non-existent. We had most of our guests park at the Fred Meyer across the street and walk over which was a huge inconvenience. My parking spot also wasn't close to my complex either, which made carrying things such as Costco or grocery runs into my house just that much more difficult. Comments about theft/car damage - During the two years my roommate and I were here, we never experienced any theft or damage to our property. But we were also extremely smart about it and didn't leave packages sitting out for more than 4 hours. I'm not saying it doesn't happen because it very well could happen. But just didn't to us. The unit itself - Wasn't bad. It was on the first floor so you had to go down the stairs and it was in a walk-up with no elevator. But that much didn't bother us. A lot of noise from the units around us the time we were there. We made noise complaints pretty frequently and it worked for about a week and then the noise continued to happen. So at that point it became a "it's whatever. We just have to deal with it" sort of thing. I painted one of the bedroom walls white and they charged an un-godly amount to get it painted back to what it was. So if you do paint your walls, I'd recommend painting it back yourself. All in all, living here was....a choice. Not a bad one at first, but with the decline in customer service (minus Melissa), the loud neighbors. Waste of time ! For one they'll watch you come to the parking for your home tour but they'll have a sign saying CLOSED on their doors . They won't even talk to you unless you show them you have an appointment . Secondly, when we went to tour the apartment - the lady excitedly gave us the keys to check out the apartment as it was a self guided tour . As soon as we try to unlock the door is jammed.remember how I said that they don't answer their office phone !? My boyfriend has me to walk back down and look to see if he spots her & they didn't come back for like 20 minutes until he finally found her . Lastly was the fact that they told my sister that she was going to get the apartment since edge has been approved - not even an hour later she says she can't continue to go thru with the lease since she said our other roomates applications didn't pass. Just moved in, so take this with a grain of salt. So far we like it a lot. Everyone from the office staff to the maintenance staff have all been very helpful, prompt, and friendly. Specifically Shannon from the office and Saul from maintenance have been great. Overall I'd recommend this place! I've been waiting almost 3 weeks for the maintenance department to fix/replace my dishwasher. I called them on Thursday May, 23, 2024. I was told it needed replacement. The replacement was apparently ordered the following Tuesday, May 28, 2024 because, Memorial Day weekend??? The replacement is in California because apparently there is no place in Washington they can obtain a replacement. This is 6/10/2024 and there has been no communication with me concerning when the new dishwasher will arrive and when it will be replaced. They have significantly reduced the times you can drop in and talk to someone in the leasing office. If I recall, it's only Friday and Saturday. No one on the leasing team nor on the maintenance team is available on Sunday or Monday. Supposedly, the maintenance team is available for dire emergencies. As global warming continues to affect our planet, be aware, these apartments have no air conditioning. You have to roll your own. They have limited green space for dogs. You have to submit your dog's poop for DNA analysis so they can see who's responsible for any piles left around. Visitor parking is abysmal. Approximately 10 spots for the entire property. These visitor spots, including the one's marked "Future Resident Parking" in front of the leasing office, are almost continually occupied. The ladies I hired to clean my apartment occasionally have to park across the street in the Fred Meyer lot. read more

This is the worst community I have lived at. I have been here for several years and this place has just declined. I've gotten my car broken into twice back to back. They say the have camera's for security but yet the camera in front of my car doesn't face my car. Funny how that works. They used to have security that would walk the complex and now I've yet to see one. This I supposed to be a safe place to live and there are so many unsafe things. I've walked out to my car to see a homeless person injecting himself right in front of my car. Now I know they can't do anything about that because the area is full of ppl trashing it but why is there nothing being done about security? I've found needles around the complex, the hallways always smell awful and are constantly trashed. The maintenance staff here are great and they work hard but they can only do so much. Avalon charges so much but yet can't keep the place safe and clean. The amount of staff that has changed since I have been here has been ridiculous. There is one person in particular that works in the office who is just the rudest person ever. She clearly hates her job and doesn't want to be there. When ever we go in for help she does the bare minimum if at that. Everyone else that I have worked with has been so pleasant and great and has really tried to help when it comes to certain things. Now as for guest parking that doesn't even exist. After hours they let you park in future resident parking and they have about 8 spots that that can be used for visitors. It is so inconvenient especially for an apartment complex of this size. We used to have parking and now it's all changed. If you have guest good luck on getting any parking. This place is overly priced for no reason. They say they go off of market value but I know that isn't true. So many people have been moving out and they constantly have vacant apartments. Lived here for 3 years from 2017-2020 so here are my pros and cons and some tips for future residents. (This review is pre-COVID, everything affected by COVID will not be included in my review). Pros: Top quality apartments (cabinets are elegant, plenty of storage, appliances are good, bathroom fixtures are nice). This was built in the last 5-6 years so everything is built with quality and things are not falling apart. Amenities are top notch. You cannot beat this gym. This gym easily replaces a LA Fitness or 24 Hr Fitness. Yeah it sucks when there is a ton of people using it and you have to wait on machines, but this gym has just enough to get a full workout in. Go ahead and cancel your gym membership. The BBQ's are nice too. You don't need to buy your own. And the pool is great too in the summer, nice and big with plenty of seating. There is no hot tub though which kinda sucks. Close to majors shops like Costco, the mall, Target, Walmart, movie theaters and more. I would always get my gas at Costco because it was so close and went to the mall frequently. Pet friendly. Great community areas (Big lawn and patio area in the center plus tons of walking paths so you don't have to walk your dog through parking lots. Maintenance response is quick (they will fix it within 24 hours) Close to the freeway and bus stop right outside the apartment. Close to Fred Meyer and some restaurants. We ran across the street to Fred Meyer more times than we can keep track of to get missing ingredients or last minute items. Cons: The parking situation. The parking policy changed from free for all to assigned resident parking since living here. Each one has their pros and cons to it. Free for all allows you to park as close to your apartment as you want. Con is worrying about not being able find a parking spot. However, we've lived here for 3 years and we've always found a parking spot, even at 1 AM. Pros to assigned parking spots is, your guaranteed a spot. The cons of it is your screwed if someone else parks in it but you can call the tow company pretty quickly. The other con is limited guest parking. There are only 8 guest parking spots and they are abused by secret residents who live there. The only option for your guest to park is across the street at Fred Meyer. This is not a great situation for you if you plan on having guest over frequently. The traffic noise. We lived in building A which faces 164TH ST SW and it is one of the loudest streets in Lynnwood. It's a giant hill plus a major intersection, so you get cars who like to rev their engine at a light and cars that like to go really fast to go up and down hills. Also emergency vehicles will past by 4-5 times per week because there is a fire station on the Mill Creek side that goes to the Lynnwood side. Homeless issue. Across the street at Fred Meyer and close by the freeway entrance to I-405 will have 4-5 panhandlers at a time. They will walk through the apartment complex and some of them live in the woods behind Avalon. Crime. My car was broken into and money was stolen. Other residents have had issues too with cars being broken in to. There is a lack of security cameras in the parking lots. And the security company that patrols the apartment complex won't be able to catch them all. Your apartment key. Yes this might sound like a weird one but they have smart keys instead traditional keys. So your not allowed to make duplicates. And if you need someone to enter your apartment when your not there, they have a key checkout system at the leasing office. But they constantly close the office for trainings or they were under staff that day (and sometimes without warning). So if you have dog walkers, house cleaners or babysitters, you are out of luck. Tips for future residents: Don't listen to most of these 1 star reviews. These people who complain about every little thing probably has never lived in a apartment before. Yes rent will go up, yes other residents will leave dog poop or trash on the ground, and yes parking situation will never be perfect. Don't live in a apartment if these things bother you. If you don't have a choice, then don't expect this to be a resort. Don't live on the first floor, especially if it faces a walk path, if you want full privacy. Don't live in a building that faces 164th ST SW or Alderwood Mall Pkwy. This applies to building A, B, D and E. The noise is overwhelming. Read the apartment description on the website carefully. Click on the apartment unit you are applying for. Some units only have a 1-wall kitchen and/or no balcony. We thought we were getting U-shaped kitchen because that was the picture of the floor plan of our unit number but we got a 1-wall kitchen instead. It wasn't that bad after all. Best building IMO is building C. It's in the dead center of the property, you have the option to park underground and the Amazon locker is in there. read more

They barely take care of the parking lot in the winter. In 2022 they did nothing for the snow and ice, now they put out salt and plow once a day but do not prioritize the entrances that are on hills. The lady in the office was about to make me leave my car on one of the entry hills before even attempting to ask maintenance to do anything about it. read more

Moved here from across the country. I'll only Say this once: WE BROKE OUR CONTRACT AFTER 3 months! Dog shit on the sidewalks, dog piss on the columns right outside of the doorways. Smells like hepatitis everywhere. Unreasonably rude front office manager. I simply asked if there was someone that could jump my dead battery so I could get out of their parking lot which lead to a surprising exchange. I'd like to start with how the leasing agents were eager to help and I was grateful. The two didn't have jumper cables but said they'd figure something out and kindly asked me to wait before one went into the manager's office. When the leasing agent returned, I figured they'd called one of their maintenance personnel which surely have jumper cables for their own carts, but instead was told that it was against their policy to jump a battery. Surprised, I asked what the reasoning behind that policy was, and that's when the manager came out. Visibly annoyed, she asked what the problem was which I politely repeated for her even though she was within earshot of the conversation. She took a condescending tone with me as she gave her honest answer, bluntly saying that they're not required to help. Obviously they're not required but it's what decent people do. I walked out in a bit of disbelief but fortunately one of their tenants saw me and was kind enough to help. read more

My fiancé and I were really excited to move into this place. BOY WERE WE WRONG. It looks really nice at first view but there is so much homeless people and theft not to mention the quality of the apartments is not done well. We had no light in our bedroom but other buildings did? We had a balcony but everyone else's dryer shoot was above our deck so lint gathered everywhere. My fiancés car got broken into and my car got broken into window shattered. We paid up the A** for a one bedroom 2000$!?! Just for no AC, worthless security, unhelpful staff at the front desk, dirty hallways with stench of POO AND PEE, good luck finding any packages you order to your place and homeless roaming all over. That place is a joke. I would have rather saved the 26,000$ I spent last year living there. read more

Poorly constructed, noisy apartments. Overpriced considering every footstep from upstairs is amplified to sound louder than it should, it makes your neighbors seem as if they weigh 400lbs. Much worse than any apartment I've ever lived in. In addition, the building's proximity to one of the noisiest roads in the city (10 yds) without any sound dampening ensures constant street noise (including an average of 6 emergency vehicles daily from fire stations on either side of the property). In addition, parking is horrible and expensive. If you do elect to purchase a spot for $50-$100 monthly, it likely won't be near your actual apartment. It's a poorly managed mess designed solely for maximum profit for building management. There are appproximately 5 visitor spots for the 500 apartments on the property. read more

We have called multiple times to have our washer fixed and they always said it was fine and didn't do anything to fix it. It wasn't fine. Had a friend who stayed a short while parked behind my car. She had her car towed. I've seen so many other people parked terribly in similar spots. All around an expensive apartment for nothing great. They have raised our rent twice while living here. Just completed a year lease at these apartments and It is by far the best experience I have had with an apartment community. I wasn't going to write a review, but I feel like people are writing harsh reviews that don't think represent the experience I had at all. First off, the facilities are top notch. Yes you pay more for rent, but you definitely get you moneys worth. The gym is absolutely incredible. Two stories with plenty of cardio and weigh lifting equipment, and the staff keeps it incredibly clean. You wont need to waste your money on expensive gym memberships anymore. The customer service at this community is also great. Anytime I have come into the main office, I am always greeted with a friendly and warm smile. Even if they are slammed with customers. The staff really does seem to care and want to make your experience better. I absolutely loved my apartment. The kitchen is massive for an apartment. There is plenty of cooking space and storage for all your kitchen supplies. And storage space doesn't just stop at the kitchen. Storage in the laundry closet, storage near the kitchen, storage in the bathrooms. This is the first plac I've lived that actually had more storage space than I knew what to do with. Having moved to downtown Seattle, this is something I already miss dearly. It sounds like the biggest complaint about this place is parking, which I agree was pretty rough. Not something you would expect for an apartment in Lynnwood. I highly recommend paying for secured garage access. You are guaranteed a spot every time and the garage is patrolled by security every night. It is super convenient being able to drive in and walk straight to the elevator and up too your floor. If you are looking for a great living experience and are willing to pay a little more in rent than this is your place. I will definitely be looking for Avalon properties again in the future. read more

This is going to be a long (hopefully helpful) review based on my experiences living here for 3 years. If you want the full description, see below, but a Pros and Cons is posted just underneath this line: Pros: Right next to the shopping centers Amazon hub package pickup (AMAZING) Parking availability has opened up over the years Staff carries a sense of urgency to fix issues Office is actively aware of issues on their property Outstanding Gym, Pool, and Bbq's Rent was more than fair, especially if you utilize the amenities Cons: There are transients that live nearby and may walk through the property occasionally, but Avalon has/continues to communicate with Law Enforcement to address issues that are somewhat out of their control. Avalon Alderwood in my opinion was a fabulous place to live. Throughout my 3 years as a tenant I have seen a lot of changes come to the community. I lived near the bottom half of the property and I can honestly say I will miss this place. From other reviews, you may have read about high turnover in the office and maintenance crews, but they have all been fabulous. They definitely have a lot of things being thrown at them, since as many people have read, transients live near by and frequent Fred Meyer. I rarely had to deal with any of that where I was located and even so, the office staff holds safety meetings with live sheriff officers to discuss questions and concerns. Aside from the transient issue that continues to improve, Avalon has always strived to make things right, whether it be loud music next door, (which only occurred one time over the 3 years) or maintenance needed in the apartment. They were always quick and got things done the right way. I also wanted to bring up parking. Parking has much improved since I first moved in, and they are actively trying to rid cars that should not belong. I have noticed many parking spots in the late night hours where as 2 years ago, it was quite difficult. If anyone made it this far in my review I salute you, and you may be asking why leave if it's that great? Honestly, I would love to stay but I have decided it's time for another fresh start, and I want to continue exploring. *All apartments differ based on your location in the property, but as for me, I give an A+++ read more

We have lived here for just over a year and for awhile, we were thrilled. Similar to other comments made we are no longer happy about some of our experiences. The staff turns over more than I would reasonably expect. It seems there is always someone new in the office - which tells me a bit about the company. Supposedly, there is no smoking allowed on the property. Evidence would prove the opposite to be true. As I drive through the parking lot, there are often people smoking at the building entrances. Walking around the property and there are cigarette butts everywhere. We also had many many instances of our downstairs neighbors smoking. We contacted management multiple times, but there was "nothing they could do." And, don't even get me started about the dog poop. The parking is also out of control. For what we pay in rent, one might assume there might be available parking. That would be an incorrect assumption. If we arrive home any time after 9 p.m. there is NO parking. When you talk to management, their solution is to pay for a reserved spot. I do appreciate much about this apartment, but often times, the negatives outweigh the good - especially when I am paying my over $2K per month rent. read more

Ive lived at Avalon Alderwood for a little over a year and a half. When we first moved here it was great. The staff and management was awesome to deal with and would go out of there way to help you. But that has changed since new people have come in and taken over. We've had multiple issues with people smoking in their units below us on there balcony and inside. we constantly have cigarette smoke coming into our apartment. Part of our reason for moving here was that it's supposed to be a smoke free community and is part of the agreement when moving in but residents here do not follow these rules because they are not enforced. We've put in multiple complaints that always seem to get lost in the shuffle and when we speak to the manager about these concerns she always says we have a process for these things and after 3-4 complaints we will do something about it. We've complained probably 10 times and it still happens every night! We also have a dog and the whole time we've been here they said they would be putting in a dog area for people to let their dogs play off leash and run around. Well they did put one in and it's the saddest excuse for a dog park or dog run I've ever seen. It's a 20x20 (maybe not even that big) chain link square with gravel in it. I don't have unrealistic expectations when it comes to apartment living. I understand there's going to be noise and difficult people to live around. that comes with the territory. But I pay A lot of money to live here and they do just about everything to nickel and dime you and sky rocket your rent each year so i do have high expectations. This place could be great with its location and amenities but it's just not. There are things I like but there is a lot more i dont. I cannot recommend living here. read more

I am currently a resident there at Avalon Alderwood. I was thrilled with the amenities and location right next to the highway and so close to shopping. The grass and landscaping is great the biggest compliant I had was a slow elevator. I'm so unhappy to have to write a negative review but I must. My fiancé and I pay to park in the garage. My car was erroneously towed by security. Naturally I was upset - not only could the property manager not tell me if my car was towed. The company Securitas had not informed her. Her indifferent attitude really made it worse for me. I had to call she wasn't even willing to do that for me. We pay so much money for rent and the amenities to have my car towed yet there have been break ins...I really wish the complex would prioritize the safety of the residents over parking...In spots we pay for. As a milso I have friends who move and will be moving to the area I cannot recommend this community or the associated one down the street. read more

The apartment itself is nice and newer. However, after living here for a year I will say this complex has a HUGE problem with theft more then any other apartments Ive lived in. Cars are broken into or stolen daily. The garages are broken into and peoples stuff gets stolen. Just today, the secured storage units INSIDE THE BUILDING were broken into and our stuff and neighbors stuff were stolen. So yea...the apartment looks nice, but if you live here...just plan on having your cars, and things stolen...guaranteed! read more

I. Love. This. Place. That is really all I would have to say if this were a conversation in passing, but since it's a review, I'll elaborate. I'll start with the staff, as that's where my journey to becoming a resident started as well. I set up an appointment to take a tour and learn more about the complex since I work very nearby and was considering a move in the next few months. When I came in for my appointment, Jesse was very nice and seemed as excited to be showing me around as I was to be looking. Everything about these apartments is, for lack of a better word, polished. I am a huge fan of the modern styling, and the pool area looks like it should be at a resort instead of an apartment complex. The fitness center is large and well equipped, easily rivaling a professional gym. There is a BBQ area with a fire pit for gatherings, and lots of parking all over the complex. Being right across the road from the Fred Meyer and all of the shopping and eateries is a nice plus, as well. So, this is my impression of the complex as a whole as I begin my tour with Jesse. I'm impressed, but still hesitant. The prices were slightly more expensive than some of the others that I had had researched, but there was not another complex that I looked at that could rival the location. Then I saw the inside of the apartment...and I knew: I was home. The apartments are spacious, and a wonderful layout. The kitchen is large and open, with lots of counter space and cabinets. The kitchen in my last apartment was tiny and retched; making a frozen pizza exhausted all available counter space. What a difference! The large window in the living room let in an amazing amount of light without being blinding and glaring (I have a north facing window). The bedrooms are a good size, with amazingly spacious walk in closets in both bedrooms. The bathrooms are large, with warm color tones, and feel like they belong in a day spa. The construction of the building is also solid, and there is very little noise transference between residents. I have never fallen in love with an apartment as fast, or as deeply as I did that day. This was originally a fact finding mission, but I did not want any chance of someone else taking my HOME from me, so Jesse helped me secure the apartment. The staff was (and still is) very friendly and helpful. I've lived in many, many apartments over the years (14 years in the military makes you move. A lot.) and this is the most complete package I've ever seen. I feel bad that I can only offer 5 stars on my review. read more

I have read through many of the reviews and most seem quite consistent and I believe my only complaint is the noise from the street and that is with my windows closed. Recommendation is to go to triple pane glass which might help during the cold season. I love the layout and the overall condition of my apartment but next year will look to face away from the street. Parking continues to be an issue for everyone although I pay for a parking garage spot. The only other thing I thought was odd was I noticed in the master bathroom that the shower drain was becoming discolored and only having been here for two months I reported it to maintenance and their response was "someone" must have used a harsh chemical and they will not change it. I thought they would want to take preventative actions as not to have bigger issue later. The staff has always been kind to me and no issues with the office. read more

Extremely disappointed with Avalon Alderwood and my last few months of living here. Parking got to be a major problem. There would be times I had to park across the street because not a single spot would be open. I paid $50 monthly for a reserved parking spot, which would be parked in by another resident. The stairs and landing area weren't cleaned once in my year of living there and of course got to be extremely dirty. The dumpster area began to consistently be a disaster, with broken garbage bags, dirty diapers, and food on the ground. Little things started building up that were really frustrating when you are paying a good amount of money in rent to live in a newer apartment complex. Towards the end of my lease, the maintenance team came out to do an inspection on our unit. Being about 2 weeks before our day to be completely moved out, we of course did not have everything cleaned to perfection or any of our belongings moved yet. They noted nearly $700 in repairs, never saying anything about our carpets. I did have the carpets fully cleaned a few days before we moved out by a very trusting local company. Carpets looked amazing! I thoroughly cleaned and sanitized absolutely everything in our unit. I attempted to set up a "complimentary follow up inspection" several times with the office and after about 5 voicemails, a few emails from both my roommate and myself, we received no response. It has now been 3 weeks since we moved out. We just obtained our "Final Bill" of $1,300. They overcharged us on 7 days of parking (more than twice the amount). They fully replaced our carpets with zero warning and honestly, there was precisely no valid reason to do so. This costed us almost $900. They also took it upon themselves to have the apartment cleaned (again) on our dime for $165. I do recall, the day my roommate and I moved in, we cleaned the windows ourselves, cleaned dog hair between the baseboards and carpet. Had to fully clean the fridge and cabinets ourselves. That being said, not sure paying $165 for a cleaning company is worth it? I have contacted and reached out in the calmest matter possible to get a breakdown on why these actions were made and have yet to hear back from the office. All in all, living at Avalon Alderwood started out just fine. I was almost always followed up with instantaneously. The staff was always very gracious and helpful. It saddens me that this ended up turning around completely. Location was definitely questioning at times as well. My tires were slashed along with other resident's vehicles being broken into/keyed. The homeless people that stand in the Fred Meyer's parking lot across the street regularly stroll through the complex. Often sleeping near the trail behind our specific units. Another thing, if you are interested in extending your lease, you will begin paying double your current monthly renting rate. I really hope that Avalon and their staff will work on their customer service and issues that we unfortunately had to deal with. I would genuinely not recommend any of my family and friends to live at this complex at this point. Don't put yourself in the same situation I did. read more

Look elsewhere. I've lived here for 3 years now and management has only gotten worse. They have uneducated people making decisions that benefit a handful of people, so the remaining majority have to suffer. Their decisions make no sense. If you ask the majority of residents, they'll tell you the same as I know a good amount of people who live here and they have told me the same. I stayed because it was a good location for work, but I'm frankly just sick of how the community is run. The new parking structure is the worst. Not only that, but they sprung it on residents very poorly with little planning. They couldn't even answer questions we had. I've lived in Avalon communities before and enjoyed my time at other communities. I am very disappointed in the Avalon Alderwood location. On the bright side, there will be many vacancies as myself and a handful of others I've spoken to will be leaving at lease end. That should fix the parking crisis. read more

This apartment complex is modern, clean, new, and is probably the nicest in this area. I thought about moving to Tivalli (or w/e) apartments down the street but they look like a jail from the outside. Hideous windows. Avalon is gorgeous, it's true it looks like a resort. The staff at Avalon is great, no complaints, I mostly only deal with one of the employees though, he is professional but personable. If you live here, do everything in your power not to live facing the road. The sound of traffic is not fun. Free parking spots are impossible to find after 7pm but somehow we still have managed to get away with not buying a spot. Yes this place has a reputation for being more expensive...but I think you get what you pay for. The gym here is amazing and has a gorgeous view of the pool. Fred Meyer and Subway, Thai food, Sushi, are just across the street. Mill Creek Town center is a 5 minute drive away. Mukilteo is 15 min away. Seattle is 25-40 min depending on traffic. The people here really keep to themselves, I have hardly seen a glimpse of more than 3 people that live on my floor in the time that I have been here. If you have the money and are unsure where to live in this area, I would recommend this place. read more

I am on my first and last lease with Avalon Alderwood. The complex is fairly high tech with convenient systems. The staff, however, are not trained in how to set up a new resident with those systems and repeatedly delay and provide misinformation. Not out of malice but out of lack of training I suppose. The inconveniences have continued throughout the months from poor staff training. My advice to anyone considering the place: yes, it's beautiful but the walls are thin and think really hard about how much you rely on your property managers for some basic things frequently that you normally don't question. You will find frustration in those things here with the current staff. Good luck! Renter beware. read more

This is definitely the best apartment we've ever lived in! We are very happy with the staffs and management. Jesse, Armin, and Riva were very helpful when we first moved in. Made moving in to this apartment feels a lot easier and they made us feel home from the day one! ;D the apartment complex is very clean too, also this place is CLOSE TO EVERYTHING! Walking distance to Fred meyer, starbucks, mod pizza, five guys, nails salon, restaurants, etc. Close to ash way transit center, walmart, i5, and alderwood mall. I couldn't ask for more, really. The fitness center and swimming pool are my favs too! We live in 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment and we love love loveee it so much! Our room is spacious, bright, and modern. And yes, i would really recommend Avalon Alderwood apartment to our friends! read more

I currently live here and it was good for the first month but the cigarette smoking is so bad I can't even have my windows open. Smoke free let's be real it's not enforced. The people that live close to me part all night long and security doesn't do anything. This place is way over priced and there not really that nice. But first let me say this I was forced into my contract lease here because the apt rep forgot to send my lease to me 5 days before signing and when I went in to find out where the email was she said if I didn't sign the lease today that I would lose that apt. She also gave me the wrong price so k ow I am paying more and the walk thru on the apt it's self was so poorly done that I am still finding surprises from the previous tenants. If there was a 0 star I would definitely put that as the rating. Parking is the worst here but if you want good parking you have to pay $50-$70 for a spot. What a joke. Tenants have cars parked and never move them cuz there not drivable. I wouldn't recommend this place to families this place is so boring. I CANT WAIT TO MOVE OUT OF HERE!!! Update from my previous review. The parking might be under control once the new parking tag in the window, we will find out of that is really going to be enforced. Still can't wait to move. The neighbors are still obnoxious all the time I don't think the issue has been properly taken care of. read more

I've been meaning to leave a review for a little while because I absolutely love living here. My husband and I relocated from Ontario, Canada and rented our unit based off of a few photos and asking questions about amenities/square footage to the apartment management team. This was a giant risk, but one that we're beyond happy that we took. We had such a smooth transition. We actually moved in on a holiday, when management was out of the office, and were still given a phone number to call in the case that we needed anything, which was really nice of them to provide. We were pleasantly surprised by how nice our unit looked when we arrived, including small details like USB ports in the walls (outlets) that we weren't expecting. The building that I live in is also very quiet and clean. The aesthetic is really nice and modern on the outside, which I like. The complex's gym is awesome and far better than any gym I've had in other places I've rented. The convenience of nearby restaurants and a grocery store was also a big selling point for me. I can walk across the street and get thai, teriyaki, a burger, a pizza, subway, etc. I tell people all of the time that if you turn left and keep going down 164th St SW, you'll run into the beach and if you turn right down 164th St SW, you can start a drive North to Vancouver or South to Seattle on the 5. It is a 5 minute drive to the Alderwood Mall and a5 minute drive to Mill Creek Town Center. Armin is a fantastic member of the team, always professional and always offers to look into or to handle anything I request. It is also important to say that any time I've been down to the office to pick up a package, I've been greeted warmly by all of the staff members. The only down side is a later-in-the-day delivery time for the mail and limited parking. However, a parking spot can be purchased so you have a guaranteed place, either uncovered, covered or in the garage. read more

first of all the front desk people are beyond rude and not helpful, I don't appreciate the disrespect from Gina. every time I call she's rude and speaks down on people. our washer machine flooded our living room. we still have ongoing issues with our washing machine that they have not fixed properly since January our bathtub is full of soaking wet laundry because they failed to come out and fix our washing machine yet again. The washing machine will not start. when I called to ask about maintenance coming they proceeded to tell me that "you complain too much about this issue". when our lease is done we will be leaving we've lived here for almost 3 years and the people here are so disrespectful. read more
