We hadn't ever heard of it, but thought we'd give it a try. What a terrible mistake. The outside is ugly. It appears to be a steel industrial style building and has a sign with chipped,fading, and peeling paint. It's literally a stone's throw from the train tracks. We almost didn't go in. Inside was filled with mismatched tables situated too close together with vinyl table cloths with a tacky grape motif. The decor was what could generously be called eclectic. The service was adequate but not great. The food....was so bad we were to the point of laughing to keep our selves from crying that we had paid $18 per plate. Fatty, tasteless ham; greasy cod; flavorless vegetables; packaged mac and cheese; pastries that looked like they came from a package purchased at a c-store; omelets "made to order" that weren't cooked through. So, so, so bad. PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did. Go somewhere else or stay home and make your own meal. Anything would be better than this!

The Den only opened a few weeks ago, replacing the former CoCo coworking space. It was fun to see the Misfits take over this space last week incorporating tons of art and warmth into the interior design. Cool handcrafted tables and stand-up desks are located throughout the building. Two conference rooms as well. I enjoy coming to the Den every so often to get away from my office desk and work among a variety of individuals in the space. You can also rent the space out for events.

Though I don't believe they have Diet Coke, as I recall them telling a customer that, in case that's your thing. I didn't pay attention to the food menu, which was limited - I think pretzels, Rhombus Guys frozen pizza, a charcuterie type option, maybe more. You might still run into inconsiderate tenants who think taking the line elevator in the building out of operation so they don't have to wait for it is okay, but jerks are everywhere until they can be evicted. The management has been great and responsive to nearly any issue that has been discovered since the building opened two years ago, and has addressed them better now than ever before.

Check. You're basically sleeping inside a can of something hoppy and slightly unhinged. The craft beer situation is ridiculous in the best way. Walk downstairs (or just wander the complex) and you're swimming in Drekker's lineup--sours, IPAs, whatever experimental wizardry they're pouring that day. Free taster at check-in seals the deal: most hotels give you a stale cookie; these people hand you actual beer. Priorities, people. The hangout areas are spacious and actually usable. No awkward lobby chairs that look like they were designed by someone who hates sitting. Instead you've got open floors, cozy nooks, outdoor spots, and enough breathing room that you can properly settle in with a pint without feeling like you're in a waiting room. Add a fleet of pinball machines scattered around (dozens, according to the devotees), and suddenly "just one more game" becomes a legitimate evening plan.
