Fast forward to our current project where we have purchased all of our marble backsplash and shower tiles from The Builder Depot. I have spoken with their customer service a number of times before ordering and they have always been super friendly and helpful. I even ordered sample of tiles we were considering before making the big purchase, and I can't stress enough how important that is to see a sample of the actual product before committing to it. I've had a total of 3 freight shipments delivered at various times during our project and everything went well. The tiles were packaged and protected with very minimal (if any) damage during transit all the way to California. I'm not done with the project yet but am happy with what has been installed so far. I was working on a kitchen remodel and the designers helped me to find some accent tile as well as trim pieces to match the statement tile I purchased from Floor & Décor. THAT'S WHEN MY GOOD EXPERIENCE ENDS! My tile did not arrive in the window of time I was given. I wasn't even notified. I called in to check the delivery status and low and behold, my tile had been received, but no one had cared enough to notify me. While picking up my tile I discover the wrong trim pieces were received. (If you're thinking this is no big deal, please read more reviews and you will see that this is a common error TinT has been making for years, yet they have done nothing to prevent it from happening. Also found out the same thing happened to my neighbor.) After days of calling and emailing the Store Manager, I finally received an email back from her stating my tile is estimated to be received in 9 days. You would think that I was in good hands now that I am dealing with the Store Manager, but you would be wrong. 9 days came and went and still no word from TinT. After waiting an additional 5 days I asked for an update and AGAIN my tile was sitting there, but NO ONE cared enough to notify me. I brought my dissatisfaction with their service to my designers attention and her response was "If we had sku numbers and tracking then that would be great, but we don't". Really?!? They caused me to delay my tile installer 3 times due to their continued carelessness and this is their response? To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. This is a high end store where customers are paying premium prices, so to receive this low level of customer service blows my mind. The owner cannot compartmentalize professional and personal interactions. I couldn't respond to his…read moremessages for a few hours and found myself receiving a string of condescending messages and then ultimately being blocked while never even having a chance to reply. My number has been blocked ever since - totally unprofessional conduct! I never hired them, but my review below is regarding my honest experience dealing with the owner of this business Carlos so that others can be forewarned. He even sent me a message on Google yesterday morning instructing me to "call him now" after seeing my review instead of ever offering an apology for less than professional conduct. Now to my review- I sent the him a message a few weeks back simply asking if I was still on the schedule. An hour later, I got 2 calls and messages from him asking who I was, immediately followed by "good luck with your project." So 10 mins is all customers get to respond before they are sent a rude response to find another professional? I wasn't able to see this correspondence until later and assumed they were clearly not interested in my business, so I never responded. Later in the day, I had another set of messages from him concluding "bless your little heart" "have a great life." Who says things like this in a professional interaction? When I went to finally respond and call back, I realized that my number had been blocked. Really? Also, they advertise in their brochure that they match competitors pricing. He even confirmed - "yes we do as long as they are in the same business and not handymen." But when I sent him a fitting quote which was about $200 less than this company's price, he said, "that's too low for us, go ahead with those gents." So price match only applies when it's convenient for them. Secondly, I asked him about warranty, and got no response. And after 2 weeks of waiting, not only was I not on the schedule anymore as discussed, I was not even able to be located in their system with my phone number. A few days back, my phone number was still blocked and I actually tried calling him from my husband's phone and of course it went through. The owner Carlos had no recollection of the aforementioned text messages or why my phone number is blocked. He also had no recollection of anything whatsoever with regards to my project - "they see so many people in a day" he said. He then said "let me power cycle my phone and see what happens." As if that's going to unblock my number? An hour later, I still couldn't text or call him from my phone. Outrageous! I have dealt with much bigger companies in the past and even they don't make customers feel so insignificant. It seems to me that they have more than enough volume to care about people or make an effort to earn anymore business. I am happy to take my business elsewhere!

We received excellent advice about appropriate replacement materials. Then a timely period from signing the contract to being ready to go to work. Alan's showed up on time. Their work is beyond excellent; and done by true craftsmen .... the lead man was described as "He's the best" and that he is. Finally, they finished the work on time; and cleaned up beyond our expectations.
