My family rented the property for a week in August, and it was not at all what we expected. When we arrived, the house was NOT rental-ready. It was filthy. Surfaces were dirty, towels were left in the washer (we had to wash them ourselves), and there were broken items, including a glass in the dishwasher that caused my grandmother to cut her finger. My mom stepped on someone else's contact lens (none of us where contacts) We were promised a cleaning crew would come, but they never did. Beyond cleanliness issues, there were also safety hazards. Several broken boards on the deck weren't fixed until a few days into our stay, which was a risk for our children and elderly relative. The furniture was damaged in multiple rooms, and pillows were either stained or missing entirely. Long & Foster did send new pillows, but this should've been handled before we arrived. On top of that, the owner's personal items filled the closets and cabinets, so we had nowhere to unpack or store our belongings. This added to the overall feeling that the property wasn't properly prepared for renters. While we appreciated the bottle of wine and t-shirts sent as a gesture, they didn't begin to address the inconvenience and subpar conditions. We asked for a refund, but Long & Foster said they couldn't do anything because the owner wasn't responsive. I tried to dispute this as I felt it was long & Fosters responsibility but they said they couldn't do anything. It's incredibly frustrating to know that others had raised similar concerns before our stay, yet the property was still being rented without addressing the issues. This shows a lack of accountability and concern for guests' experience. While we did our best to enjoy the week, the condition of the home and the lack of meaningful response from Long & Foster made it clear that guest satisfaction is not a priority here. I strongly urge future renters to ask detailed questions and request recent photos before booking through this company.

BLACK MOLD in Merrimac condo 177 80th St unit 101. Long and Foster( Avalon) rented me a health…read morehazard condo that had visible BLACK MOLD on the wall and on both Air Condition vents. I could not keep AC on as it would spread the Black Mold more and the windows only crack open a few inches, while some did not open at all. Imagine being allergic to mold and getting headaches, congestion, and itchy eyes and L and F couldn't care less and say they will contact the owner, that's all they can do. No follow up to emails asking for reimbursement, only a careless response that owner will offer money off if I book his condo next Summer. No thank you. Not acceptable. Oh and there were ants in the kitchen cabinet and a broken beach umbrella and stains in bedding and carpet.

They do not respond and are unaccountable for properties that are in dire need of attention. My rental this was creepy dirty with complete in attention to detail...outlets did not work, grill rusted out, furniture stained w/odor, bathrooms missing floor tile, marks on the walls, vertical blinds that were missing half of the blind, internet that was spotty, tv remotes did not work and list goes on... a complete gross out !!!I had the privilege of paying $10,000 for the week. My family vowed never again! I outlined all of this for the Bowersock group and still have not had a response. We love Avalon, but this group does not deserve anyone's business, certainly not mine!!!

So the 2 car garage door has been broken for months before our arrival, Carlos, an employee of the owner, confirmed this. The owner agent, Lisa?, said a replacement was on backorder because it was a special. I call BS on that !!!! I called a local garage door company and for $3500, a new 12X7 with windows, door and opener could have been installed in 2 weeks Another former tenant, lets call her "Sally", who stayed there 3 weeks before us also said they complained about the garage door to deaf ears at F&D. They weren't happy with the response which was none. you did your best which was pretty good in advocating for us but frankly financial penalties must be put in place to protect the tenant. I paid too much for this place and wasted too much of my valuable time to get problems fixed. This owner knew for a long time of all these issues mentioned here and below. He has little incentive to fix the property to the standard he advertised. So what incentive can be put in place. "Sally" also complained about the TV's, only 2 TV's working of 5 TV's in the house. Sally got deaf ears again. Obviously several weeks after her departure we encountered the same unresolved issues. So to my complaint to F&D's, you got some partial results. Thank you for that but I still feel as though I wasted a lot of time and spent money on a substandard rental. What was promised was never delivered. The owner responded 4 days into our vacation and brought in two new ROKU TV's that Carlos really didn't know how to connect. I assisted him to get the internet connected so all 5 tv's as advertised would connect to the internet. He did not connect the cable TV service. He did not know how. I wasted enough time just helping him get the ROKU TV's to work. So at least 2 TV's still are not connected to the advertised cable service. One TV still is missing a ROKU remote. Lisa and her maintenance guy were unable to fix the shower stall. But Carlos put on a bandaid that allowed the shower door to slide as intended for two days. 2 day's later it was dragging again. The owner is CHEAP. He puts bandaids on everything rather that fixing things properly. We were having dinner on the nice back porch. However when it started raining, the skylight above the dinner table leaked significantly and we were forced inside. Really? This isn't a new problem; the roof is a mess. More bandaids. The ice maker, an easy cheap fix, was never fixed. "Sally" encountered the same issue. This is $25 on amazon. And it simply plugs in. Lite bulbs were burnt out all thru the house pretty much in every room. The kitchen didn't have any spices, sugars salt nor pepper. Never had I experienced this level of neglect. I've attached the property condition form and some photos of neglected broken items. Jake thanks for trying to get us a garage to store our stuff however, the one car garage was only partially cleaned out. It did not work out as the door was too narrow for my jet ski trailer or my utility trailer. As well, vegetation was growing over the driveway. So we did not use it. In the end it would have been inconvenient and without a key to the door, less secure. Jii requested a partial refund. I got nothing but crickets . P.S. Of the 20+ years of renting in Avalon and Stone Harbor, the worst condition rental I've ever stayed in. But thanks for responding to some of my complaints.

Terrible customer service from Alex Powers who is an agent with The Powers Group at Keller Williams…read moreJersey Shore. After our VRBO booking was confirmed we received an email directly from The Powers Group requesting more information or our booking would not be honored. I have since been told by VRBO that once they charge their fee (they did) that the host technically cannot cancel. Regardless I then received a voice mail from Alex telling me if I did not respond by 5pm they would cancel my booking. I immediately responded to the original email with the information requested. When I checked VRBO this morning my booking was gone. I tried numerous times to contact Alex to confirm the status but he has been avoiding my calls. When he finally did pick up he abruptly said he would call me back "at the end of the day" and hung up without giving me a chance to speak. I tied home again and he again picked up and said would call me at 5:30 and hung up again without letting me get a word in. Totally unprofessional and very similar a situation described in the review section of the The Powers Group, with Keller Williams Jersey Shore Facebook page.
