Nah, because i went there and this place was horrible. Like i hated it. There were crises every night and the staff didn't know what to do except p;it them in holds. Like i went from 6/20-3/21 and it helped with nothing. If you're kid is dealing with stuff and you want them to be miserable and get worse. I entered Nov 4th 2021. The food was great. loved the cook and some staff. but the beds were really hard and there was an ant problem. that got solved. but we had to stay on the same floor for a long time. on and off because of carpeting. and the lack of staff. Alot of the kids here were really mean. i got bullied and hit a few times. and when i would stick up for myself i was 'the one starting things'. I loved coco. one of the few things i looked forward to everyweek. we had building restrictions, and they were handed out so often and over very little things. adam never really cared and made some of my problems worse. he never had time to talk to me and never really talked to me about how I felt. i was also told that i myself was increasing my stay there and that i was an asshole. understandable. but it still hurt. this place really judges people based on age and stay. after my first month there i was expected to know everything and be great at it. i left feeling traumatized because of the amount of crisis and lack of control there. i was also put on alot of meds and was given a new disorder when all that was really going on was a lot of bullying. a LOT. but i miss this place and its comfort. also kyle never talked to us :)) hi! and i love the staff! especially madi 1 & 2, and steph w/ the dog!! read more

If I could give Avanti zero stars I would. The therapists would berate the residents and tell me I was faking being ill. The 24/7 councilors would talk about me to other residents (confirmed by another resident). The buildings look like abandoned warehouses. There were bugs everywhere inside and out. There "beautiful scenery" was a swamp and broken path that we weren't allowed to use. There would be a "crisis" about every day and some nights. There were times we were told to run to the other building because the staff couldn't keep us safe. At night there would be around 3 staff for two floors of 12 residents each. People ran often and physical fights weren't uncommon. It was terrifying staying there. There were "grievance forms" we could fill out for complaints and give to the supervisor. I filled one out on a therapist for purposely triggering the entire place during a crisis. That crisis was around 5 hours long as fights broke out and we had to keep relocating. The supervisor gave my form to the therapist I filled it out about. Every staff backed the therapist and we were belittled for being "passive aggressive" to the "poor Miss._______". Nothing ever got done. There were "levels" to punish us. If you did something bad (from not making your bed to punching a staff) you would be put on "Red". At staff discretion you could be given the level "Staying Miserable" which you got for displaying depressive symptoms. I would recommend going anywhere but a Volunteers Of America treatment.
