I had a very sick cat that needed help. They were AMAZING with him not to mention being kind to me as well! Sadly, however, he did end up passing away several weeks later. (not their fault) I was so impressed with the way they allowed me all the time that I needed to spend my last moments with him and grieve. They were compassionate, gentle, understanding and professional but caring. A week or so afterwards, I received a handmade sympathy card in the mail. It was signed with sweet, thoughtful condolences signed by everyone at the clinic. They even hand drew a beautiful cat picture along with a little "over the rainbow bridge" poem. I was blown away by this kind gesture. As far as cost goes, they were not any more expensive than the three other clinics that I called, before going to them. Dr. Janelle Starr and her staff are AMAZING! No one ever wants to visit an animal hospital, but if you do, this one is EXCELLENT. When our pup had sever vomiting in a 4 hour period we knew we needed to make sure it was not serious. We were greeted and within 3 minutes had a tech out to triage. We met with the dr who was so friendly, supportive and took her time to explain the blood, X-ray and ultrasound results. She was very concerned but offered a plan for us to monitor over 12 hours and come back to redo the X-ray to see if there was improvement. The anti-nausea med and sub-q fluids did the trick. She slept all night. The recheck showed such improvement and that whatever bowel obstruction was suspected, had moved further down and intestines looked back to normal. What could have been a very expensive surgery, turned into a practical, cautious and effective plan. I will bring my animals here without hesitation. Thank you Dr. Starr & Staff! read more

We had to visit this facility last year in 2025 and I believe it was in September anyhow, we had a cat that had multiple teeth pulled at our normal Vet. And he seemed to be doing well but into the weekend he took a turn for the worse and we knew he was not feeling well so we took him to this facility and we couldn't ask for any better ,kinder and knowledgeable staff. They were wonderful. We ended up putting red our cat down for his comfort and they told us he would not make it even if we hospitalized him for they felt that sepsis was the problem. We were sad, but in the same token, it's nice to know. People care about your feelings with your pets and they were absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend them . And yes, they sent us a sympathy card with everybody's condolences. If you need pet care and feelings to go along with it this is the place to go. I'm not sure how many stars to really give when you're grieving because you have to put your dog down. We called to give them a heads up, upon arrival we barely received a greet, they took our aging 15 year old dog to get examined just to return to say we are making the right decision to put her down. (due to loss of mobility, quality of life (nerve/neurological damage) Which we were aware of. While waiting in the bereavement room for about 15 -20 minutes (while no others were waiting ) as sad as it is we just wanted to get it over with; suddenly I heard a female laugh loud enough to be heard it in the room so we decided to leave. Save your jokes for your break not while you know someone is waiting in the bereavement room next to where you have our beloved dog. However, we are at peace our Shelby is no longer suffering. read more

Visited AVECCC Buckeye on a Tuesday afternoon after my dog had run into a rusty pole the night before resulting in a 1 inch split in his face. We were seen immediately and given an itemized estimate for stitches, which included some lab work, medications, and a collar/cone. Immediately they were very transparent about costs and what they felt was absolutely necessary based on Pax only being just over two years old and his excellent physical condition! After a very open discussion, we were able to reduce the bill considerably based on deciding what was absolutely necessary. We were even given options to purchase other items outside for less money. I always assumed an ER visit, especially to the vet was going to result in huge costs and an unpleasant financial decision-making experience! This was the absolute opposite, and I can't stress enough how wonderful this facility is not only how clean it is, but the way the staff treats and works with you. A little over a week ago we took our English Bulldog (Dezi) in with what we thought was a seizure. She had a history of seizures and was on daily medication. We were not aware how serious her current state was and was unprepared for how quickly things turned. The staff at AVECCC were rushing to try to care for our sweet Dezi, while me and my husband were completely in denial of what was happening, still having it in our head that this was another seizure and she would soon be out of it and taking her back home. She passed away that night, and we are still heartbroken. Our sweet Dezi was a great part of our family for many years, sadly was a senior, and it was her time to go home. The staff, faced with a very difficult situation that quickly turned for the worse, was incredible. Dr. Torres, Rae, Jas, and Kristie (hopefully we aren't leaving any names out) showed kindness, support, and did everything they could to ease our pain from the sudden loss of our Dezi. After many bad experiences with Emergency Vets in the last year throughout Avondale/Buckeye/Goodyear, I can say that I was truly impressed with this team. I only wish I found them sooner when my dog started having health issues a few years ago. Thank you for being so caring in our unexpected loss that night, we are so thankful. Additionally, they did a great job with her cremation and her ceder urn is beautiful. Thank you for the paw print, that definitely was a beautiful surprise that got us very emotional and will be greatly cherished. My dog went in his my suspicion of IVDD! The recommended we put him down because we couldn't afford 16,000$ surgery. This place is a joke! They sent my dog home with a bunch of muscle relaxers and steroids but nothing to help him with pain! Way to earn your money! You're supposed to help dogs not bankrupt their owners and keep digging for more while they grieve the illness already diagnosed! Shame on you for being in this profession! Highly recommend! We visited two days in a row for our Siamese who wasn't eating. They listened, they gave us great information so we could make an informed decision about treatment and reasons why she wasn't eating. It's worth every penny for your fur baby. Based on the number of people we saw in & out of the lobby over two days, they were highly needed in our area. They served everyone with dignity and efficiently. We very unexpectedly had to put our dog down and made a trip at 11pm at night to do so. The entire staff was so sweet to us and made the horrible experience a little easier. They also sent us a very sweet card in the mail that the whole staff wrote notes in, drew our dog and put a printed out quote. STAY AWAY!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! We paid them hundreds, and they "forgot" the antibiotics, and our dog died 2 days later. Our dog was attacked by a coyote. We didn't know what had happened to him until a witness told us, so we immediately took him to the nearest place that was open, which was AVECCC. They took him in and gave us a cost breakdown of $2100+ and lower options. We were advised that we would have to pay upfront, but they could refund us for anything they didn't use/do. But they won't know until they open the wounds. We asked them not to do the blood work since he was getting antibiotics. Charge us the rest, and hopefully, they will refund us what they don't need to use. They treated him and told us that they didn't do the deep cleaning because we didn't pay for it. This was frustrating because we told them to do everything if they needed to. But we dismissed it because they said he was good and went home with 3 medications and instructions. Fast forward, I called them because my dog died and I wanted to know if maybe it was rabies, due to his last moments. After a great discussion with the available vet, she made us aware that the $50 antibiotics were not given to my dog. We asked why not? She couldn't answer because she wasn't part of the treating team that saw Churro. We asked to speak to a manager. She said she would let them know. The next day, the original vet that treated my dog called me and admitted that she forgot to provide antibiotics. Her excuse was that she had intended to write us a script for it "since you couldn't afford it and a script would be cheaper." I'm sorry, but what about me paying hundreds of dollars to help my dog make you think I wouldn't pay for a $50 antibiotic??? It doesn't take a medical professional to know that a coyote bite NEEDS, at MINIMUM, antibiotics. I, once more, asked for the office manager to call me. It's been 3 weeks, and still no call back. My dog is dead due to your negligence, and you don't even have the respect to call me back. Churro was only 3 years old and deserved better. We trusted you with our loved one's life. And you forgot BASIC care??? And you stereotype me as someone that can't afford pet care?? If I couldn't afford it, I would not have brought him to a pet hospital. read more

We were on a trip and our beloved pet Bob started having seizures. We were about the 9-mile marker on I-10, and this was the nearest Veterinary clinic we could find. We disconnected our tow vehicle from our motorhome, and I drove the tow vehicle well above the speed limit. For the last 40 minutes, Bob was seizing incessantly. Upon arrival, I ran into the reception area and the technicians ran full speed with a gurney to get Bob out of the vehicle. Unfortunately, Bob had lost his vision and there was nothing that could be done after they medicated him to stop the seizures. After my wife got there, we had a short conversation with the Doctor and were told of the dire prognosis; Bob would never be better. We made the decision to let him go. He only responded to my talking in his hear. We stayed until the procedure was done and aske the clinic to arrange for his cremation and to have the remains shipped to us. We received a condolence card signed by everyone at the clinic including 2 paw prints and a nose print. The cremation service they used, Lasting Paws, made a clay impression of Bob's paw and included a very nice, sealed box with his ashes. AAs horrible as this was for our hearts, the services provided by AVECCC and Lasting Paws could not have been any better. Thanks for helping us through this tough time. read more

That's y i never believe in doctors or nurses or whatever on this earth. But Jesus will take care of my dog. Also I heard one of the ladies laughing/scoffing with everyone of the staff in the back about how it was too expensive for me. Idk can't trust anyone anymore. In spite of our dog Oreo having to be put to sleep because of multiple health issues commonly found with old dogs , our experience at AVECCC Buckeye was as good as it could be.
