I would not recommend this place specifically Sal. Came in from out of town and seemed like a nice place. Saw a lady at the front desk on her phone and she checked me in. Sal was also in his chair on the phone but I assumed it was cause of the slowness. There was no one else there. The lady checked me in and I went back to the back. And Sal took me to wash hair. He asked me to sign a statement in the beginning that stated the price and that I would pay for it. But assured me they do it to everyone. As he was washing my hair we talked a little bit he told me he was Italian. So I asked him in Italian if he spoke Italian and he did. I told him how amazing it was not to loose you're language and he went on a rant about how you should speak the language of the land you're in and that he wished "these Mexicans would learn the language". I tried to laugh his comments off as his old age showing. But the more I think about it the more upsetting those comments were. I myself am Mexican. Born and raised. He then asked what I would like done to my hair. I explained how I had been growing my hair out and that it had gotten too heavy. I wanted to keep the length but make it more even. This man started chopping away with absolutely no technique. After cutting what seemed like nothing he grabbed the thinning scissors and just went off on my whole head. He asked me if it was good and I said no. He had not shaped any part of my hair and the back was atrocious. I asked for it higher and he just took the scissors across and said "there" I lost all hope. so I just said it was done, so he wouldn't cut anymore. I paid and I went to the bathroom and cried. Almost a years worth of growth ruined by an 80 year old racist Italian man who couldn't hear me half the time. This establishment needs to let him go or shut down immediately. read more

Absolutely LOVED my hair dresser Mindy, she was super personable and knew how to talk to me without making me feel like I didn't know what I was talking about. Let me preface this review by saying I'm a big Aveda fan. I used to go to the Aveda institute in St. Petersburg, FL and always had enjoyable experiences, despite that STUDENTS were cutting my hair/applying makeup. There, you were offered hot tea while you wait and everyone was super polite and prompt. I visited the Dillard's Aveda salon on two occasions. The first time, I had my hair and makeup done for a work Holiday party and it looked fabulous. So, I decided to go back and have the same stylist cut my hair. I scheduled a 10:30am appointment at least a week in advance and arrived on time. After about 20 minutes of waiting, my stylist, Brooke, still hadn't shown up for the appointment. They called her on her cell, but she didn't answer. The staff provided no explanation for her absence and almost no apology. I saw the receptionist mention to what appeared to be the manager that Brooke hadn't showed up for work, but neither seemed concerned about me waiting. After 30 minutes the receptionist asked if I wanted to have someone else cut my hair. I agreed because I desperately needed a cut and had things to do that day instead of wait. I felt bad for the stylist who ended up cutting my thick, long hair. She tried her best to put in the layers I asked for, but by now, I'm used to not getting the haircut I want. BUT, she was completely inept at blow drying my hair!! She literally didn't know how to section out my hair and hold the dryer. She halfway blow dried my hair and when she "finished", it was completely puffed up and frizzy. So, she attempted to remedy the situation by applying A TON of some healing oil. I ended up with a greasy, puffy, bad haircut. I look forward to salon visits and the whole experience totally ruined my day. I was overall pretty appalled at the management of this Aveda salon. When I don't show up for work, I am reprimanded. The salon offered no consolation for the unprofessional behavior of their employees and the whole place is not a pleasant experience. Its the windowless basement of department store. Considering the competition, they should re evaluate their customer service experience. read more

Phillip is the best! I moved here and without recommendation I gave him a try! I am so glad I did! He knows exactly what I want (even before I do). My hair color looks great even two months later! He also cuts my entire family and my daughter always loves her curls. Great prices, amazing hairdresser. read more

Always leave happy and pleased with my haircut and color at this salon. The Aveda colorants never smell harsh and have a pleasant botanical scent. Recommend all their products. They are worth the extra cost. If one desires a great cut and color ask for Phillip Curtis. He is a master at both. read more

This place has so much potential! I went in yesterday to book a massage,facial, mani & pedi for two. They said they would ask a second lady to come in early to help. They were super flexible and it was awesome! I got there today with my mom and I got my massage first and my mom was going second (initially I was under the impression we would get ours together but I was okay with the slight change. I got out of my massage and then they told me that he second girl couldn't come in until 2 hours later and they wanted us to just wait. My wedding is Saturday and I have a ton of things to do (it's thursday). It was super unprofessional, they only had only had one masseuse and one other girl to do everything else. They should have said something sooner! We had to pay for the massage even though I KNOW the lady knew the potential of this lady not showing up was high. She was sneaky and it was the worst. My masseuse Emily, was sweet and kind and was eager to please. If she left this place I would follow her but the manager of the spa and the place was awful and poor customer service and sneaky!! Go somewhere else!! read more
