They did a beautiful job laying sod, putting in mulch beds, and planting bushes in my back yard. A few pieces of sod died after a few weeks and they came and patched everything up free of charge. The yard looks great. read more

Sam and his talented crew of landscapers and masons transformed my dirt backyard into an oasis! Within a week, committed to meet our short deadline, these guys made our dream backyard in the city come true! They installed a rounded raised patio, new white fence and laid down sod. These guys responded immediately to our call, gave us a reasonable quote and started working right away. Sam was on site frequently. He helped deliver supplies, cut bricks and directed clean up. We had some flooding in our backyard and a bunch of companies told us that we needed to put in a drainage system in order to stop it. Samuel came by and pointed out that our yard was naturally pitched and that we can take care of the flooding without having to install a $10,000+ system. We had a little old rock wall that didn't look great and Avelar told us that they would be able to upgrade our backyard wall and make it so flooding would never be an issue. They were able to explain it in a way that I could understand and were very fair with their pricing. I am happy to report that Samuel and the rest of his Avelar Landscaping crew not only made good on their promise, but went above and beyond to give us the backyard we knew we could have. They walked us through the process step by step, and every time an issue came up, they communicated it to us, gave us a few options, and then took care of it. They were very creative with their problem solving and I must say that everything out there looks great. They even helped us with a few things that we had not previously discussed. I highly recommend Avelar Landscaping for any of your needs. They are knowledgable, friendly, and efficient. I have attached some photos of our yard before and after. After the first job they did for me, I was so pleased I called them back a second time. My walkways are stunning. I continually get compliments especially since I live in the city with a lot of pedestrians passing by. IF YOU WANT YOU'RE JOB DONE, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS COMPANY!!! Back in August, via Yelp, I requested a quote for a very small job and was given the opportunity to have an automatic message send to multiple companies. Then, Yelp asked if I received a quote and if not, to write a review. So I did. I made note that I received a message from this so-called business requesting I give them a chance to redeem themselves. I believe in second chances, so I did. Well, then came the phone game and we finally met for an estimate on the job. He gave a great quote. Let me back up a little, the request to give a 2nd chance was from a Fransisco, the guy that showed up with a another guy said his name was Sam. and then via a different site the name Salvador appears. Now, back to the experience.... while at the site for the quote, I was told it would take about 2 weeks to get the needed materials and he would call me to schedule a date/time to do the work. Ok, no problem. Two weeks or so later, no call or text. So, I reached out and was told "Sorry, etc.". I'm aware COVID-19 has made everyone's life difficult and getting materials, necessities, etc. are hard to come by. So, because of the lack of communication, I asked if it was because the job is such a small one that he didn't respond? He claimed it wasn't too small and he would do the job, etc. Almost a month to the date later with no contact, I've texted and called and the clown has chosen to ignore my requests for an update. His actions or lack of actions have proven just what kind of person/business they really are. STEER CLEAR!!! THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO DEPOSIT GIVEN. read more

I don't want to give a bad review as I never even had the opportunity to actually work with Avelar Landscaping. This seems to be the theme currently among all landscaping companies. It took a few tries to even get a call back. We set a day and time for a quote - they were a no show. I reached out, they asked if we could reschedule for the next day, I asked what time - never heard back. This is an unfortunate way of doing business. If you are too busy/don't want the work/don't need the work, just say so from the beginning. read more

In the past year, I had reached out to several landscaping companies asking for a quote. Avelar is the only one to get back to me right away and to follow up with a quote quickly. The cost was reasonable and the work was done well. They were professional and personable. The work done was redoing a paver patio, installing an irrigation system, cleaned up a messy yard that still had construction debris, laid fresh loan and sod, installed a fence, and planted a tree and other plants. We had some water drainage issues in our backyard and no clue where to start to fix it. Sam came over, saw the problem from a mile away and was able to offer multiple different solutions to fix it. Not only did he come up with a plan to fix the grading of our lawn, but also a vision to landscape and make our back yard functional and beautiful! We ended up having to redo our retaining wall which was not something we had budgeted for, but team at Avelar was able to make it happen at a price that we were able to work with! I don't give them 5 stars just because the wall looks great (which it does) but I give them 5 stars for all the little touches. They fixed up an old bird bath and made a small rock bed for it in an area they knew would be tough to grow grass. They helped lay seed and pick up materials for us that they didn't even have too, and just really gave us pointers and helped guide us new home owners through what ended up being a much bigger project than we thought. Being a smaller company they were very easily accessible and it just felt nice to work with a team that we didn't feel was taking advantage of us. I highly recommend Avelar Landscaping!
