we ate here for a very late dinner, and ordered the sliders, nachos, mushroom caps, and fried brie with caramelized onions. food: reasonably priced and tasty. i especially liked how they layered the cheese throughout our chips in the nachos (topped with salsa and guac only). the buns on the sliders were weird though, very heavy/dense bread. the cheese and mushrooms were excellent. drink: this bar finally had jameson whiskey! good lord, you have no idea what this meant to us! every other bar and market in this area only had the worst of the worst out there (jack daniels, johnny red, johnny black, cutty sark, j&b, etc--stuff you wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole outside of high school). i realize jameson isn't the #1 best, but it's certainly better than that other stuff! service: the owner, who was also our waitress, was from california and spoke perfect english. she was very kind and helpful. she gave us 2 free drinks, and at the end of the night she told us about some cool neighborhood festivals to check out the following day and areas to go visit that only locals would know about. decor: really cute and hipsterish, kinda like the echo park, silver lake, and sunset junction areas of LA, or the east village of NYC. they also had Super Mario Brothers 3 to play on the Super NES, which had me sold at first glance. read more

In simplest terms ...AWESOME place to go. I have always enjoyed going to Barcelona as this was not my first time, but finding Avenue Bar was hands down a happy surprise that made my stay in Barcelona even more fun then anticipated. The Owners, I was lucky enough to meet, were friendly, and accommodating with wanting to make sure that my experience not only in their bar was great but also around Barcelona. In only spending a few minutes with them I felt I had fast friends. Ambiance was chill, quirky and fun, drinks were cold and refreshing, food was tasty and enjoyable (I would HIGHLY recommend the croquetas .... the best I have had, and I have had A LOT of them), and the experience was well worth the trip. If you are ever in the area of Gracia in Barcelona, it would be well worth your while to stop in, and grab a drink and tapas. Can't wait to go back!! read more

We were walking back down from a morning in Parc Guell and came across this great bar by accident. We had the best brunch you could wish for ,everything on offer from a full English breakfast to breakfast burritos.All washed down with unlimited mimosas and rounded off with excellent pancakes. A must for brunch and we will definitely be going back for an evening of drinks and tapas. Lots of thought and detail gone into the decor of this place,so many unusual things to look at and talk about. You won't be disappointed. read more

Absolutely wonderful place. We found this bar on our first night in Barcelona, and it definitely made the evening. Very relaxed atmosphere, delicious drinks (g&t with cinnamon? Brilliant.) and the bartenders were very inviting. Ended up playing ping/beer pong with the owner and staff until closing, and then after they took us out to a late night spot. Amazing place in Barcelona. Run by an American and a Brit. Great place to go and have a few beers, enjoy some tapas and play a game of Street Fighter II (yes, they have Super Nintendo).
