I receive iron infusions often...I was nervous when I first came here, but the nurses and staff are…read moreso sweet and kind. The always offer to assist in anyway they can and I appreciate it. The warm blankets are a huge comfort considering you're in a cold hospital...having low iron makes you cold all the time and they are considerate of this. They also have the best crushed ice for ice munchers like myself. I am also gluten free and while you are receiving treatment they also offer snacks..they have gluten free snacks available; which is typically an after thought, if it is ever a thought at all. The environment is extremely peaceful and calming and the heated recliners are so amazing. This week, they handed out tubes of candy decorated as a bunny for Easter and that is such a sweet gesture. Though I do not enjoy being poked and prodded with needles, the comfort the workers offer the patients is top tier. I don't look forward to coming here, but the times that I am here, I take comfort in knowing that I am in the best of care.

I am not afraid because I know God will see me through this and every attack of evil that I will face in fighting for my brothers rights. I know he is already under attack and I pray for the Lord to protect him throughout this time and continue to give him strength and keep him positive and strong as he is attacked and not let him lose hope and continue to fight with the lord protecting him every second throughout this entire situation we are going through. There is obvious something very wrong here. I am asking, praying that the Dr.'s with Mary Bird Perkins please stop the what is going on do the right thing and treat my brothers cancer. Do the best you can with your knowledge and ability. My brother has been positive and has a great attitude. My husband is a poster child with MD Anderson, against the odds, my husband beat cancer and has been a cancer survivor since 2002. The Dr.'s and staff with MD Anderson always had a positive out look and believed "NEVER GIVE UP". My husband formed Bad to the Bone cancer drive at MD Anderson, he teamed up with Be the Match and together a lot of money has been raised for cancer. I later met Lance Armstrong that invited us and other cancer survivors and went to the capital in Austin and working together we got a bill passed that approved money for cancer that has saved thousands of lives and continues to grow. I am hoping the dr.'s at Mary Bird Perkins will do 100% for any patient fighting cancer. I believe if we are all a team against cancer and we all work together and encourage one another and NEVER GIVE UP!! Work together to save as many lives as we can.

I dont a care in the world about the other stuff, I didnt come in here for that, I was super sick though and I am glad they fixed it, They did a killer job on that other than the 14 hour wait for the looking in my stomach thing. I went under it was awesome. I wish I could do that every day!!! Transport. prep (but not no 3 hrs of nothing, the moved to a room with a TV for god sake. Then put me under for 20 hrs. Let me eat, restroom, wash up, Check computer, do it again. No need for a gown you can go under in sweats, t-shirt and zip up hoodie, Well another day of hell awaits, Oh I wish I was a real Voo Doo Priest/Dr..... I would fuck this place up something crazy, and about 5 peopl who are Drs. would not be, they had to cheat or something.... of course everything has been f***** up from the beginning 2 hours yesterday with dietary and food services to get my simple God damn meals. I want two milks, two cereals and two protein drinks. nothing else. I don't want any of what you're serving. I can't eat it. maybe it's the greatest thing in the world, but I can't eat it. my stomach can't eat it so, looking back I thought they had it figured out but now that I'm remembering it right this lady pretty much did it all on her own so they got lunch right and then the lady fixed dinner so they screwed up in 3 hours. then this morning breakfast finally rolls around. we're the last people to get. it is close to 10:00 and I get biscuits and gravy. no cereal like I'm supposed to and I get the full damn thing of food. it's going to go to 100% waste. you want to see what the f****** gravy look like. look at this. you tell me you've ever saw gravy like this. this is what I'm supposed to eat. I don't know how much I'm paying but I'm going to call my insurance company when I'm out of here and hopefully we can get together for because they should not pay any more 15%. whatever room is whatever it cost to stay overnight and whatever the nurse's cost they're worth it. the nurses aren't worth it. the nurse in tax are worth it and like transport that guy that did it. the guy that looked in my stomach that was worth it but everything else I wouldn't pay their bills because they haven't accomplished anything and anytime you want something something simple act like a pillow. I took 4 hours the other night to get a god damn pillow. I can finally walk now so I don't have to depend on other people. I'm serious. I'm going to need f****** mental help when I get out of here. I probably ruined in my reputation. I don't give a f*** this place is f***** me up. this place is like God damn wreck. check out how f***** up this is

I've been a client of Dr. Anderson at Animal Hosipital of Orange Grove for years and he is…read morephenomenal. At his facility, I know all of my pets are in safe, caring and capable hands no matter what kind of problem my pet is having. Take the time to check out his hospital. You will love Dr. Anderson and his staff! Before I came to Dr. Anderson, I took my first weim Groovy to a different vet whose name I won't mention. I showed him a lump on Groovy and he examined it and said, "come back tomorrow and I will remove it for $50." I asked how will I find out what it is. This vet from ANOTHER hospital told me that I could go to a different vet and they would probably charge me a lot more to send off to get histopath results, but if I wanted it removed, come back tomorrow. A few days later, I visited Dr. Anderson. I arranged to have the lump removed and he would send it off to find out what it was. Yes, this cost more than $50, but here's where it gets interesting. During surgery, Dr. Anderson found another lump that I had not seen and he removed that one too. He sent both of them off to find out what they were. I later found out that each lump was a different kind of cancer. With Dr. Anderson's help, Groovy was treated for both kinds of cancer and lived an additional 5 years. Thank goodness for Dr. Anderson. If I had listened to the other vet, Groovy would have been dead years sooner. The moral of this story is you get what you pay for, and if you are looking for the cheapest vet, please don't always expect that vet to be the best vet.

Upon admitting a friend to this facility we were told that I could call for status updates. I am…read moreher acting Medical Power of Attorney & Patient Advocate. A Release of Information was signed for me to obtain updates on her status. Since her arrival, I've called every day trying to obtain a status update. Not once have I received a return phone call. I provided the necessary patient ID #, which you are to provide when calling. This was pretty useless. My friend was a voluntary admit on a 72 hour hold. Documents were signed for her to be released at the appointed 72 hours. Be forewarned. If you choose to be admitted on a Voluntary 72 hr hold make sure you sign the 72 hour release documentation upon admit. It will take two physicians to declare you "Mentally Stable" in order to be released. Don't overlook this documentation. The patient, my friend was to be placed in the detox unit. When I finally was able to speak to her I was told she was on the psychiatric ward. This is unacceptable. She witness incidences she should not have. She is non-confrontational. During a group session inpatients were confrontational. She bowed out and went back to the safety of her room. Later, when she was asked why she left the group she told them she "does not do confrontation". This was an appropriate reaction from my friend. I'm not sure where the communication breakdown is, but it needs to be addressed. While I am aware that can be very overwhelming for personnel to attend to inpatient needs, it is their responsibility to keep loved ones informed. I have been a patient advocate for many years. I'm well aware of how to navigate the healthcare system and well-versed in what the laws are. I believe facility needs to improve their communication efforts and/ or be held accountable.

Ann makes that process much less daunting. She is accepting and understanding while still encouraging me to question and challenge those ingrained behaviors that got me here. After speaking with Ann, I feel supported and empowered. It hasn't always been easy but it has totally been worth the work!
