I don't know where or how I stumbled across Todd but probably because of reviews like these that gave me the confirmation to go ahead and contact him for his services and I hope this review can help someone else in the future too. I don't know Todd on a personal level and I am embarrassed to say I don't even know what Todd looks like. All our interactions have been via email or over the phone and I typically prefer face-to-face meetings but Todd was extremely easy to work with and very responsive that I did not even need to meet the guy! Overall Todd is an extremely professional, courteous, and astounding guy. He is easy to work with, reasonable, and will get to the bottom of your case. He is experienced and has a wealth of knowledge and knows what he is talking about. He will not give you a run around answer or blow you off by any means. For those who need additional details, I reached out to Todd via email for an initial consultation to see if he could provide his services to help me with my home purchase in Baltimore City. Being a first-time homebuyer, there are many things you don't know and you can easily be taken advantage of if you are not cautious and you don't have someone supporting you. The real estate law in Maryland can be tough and the contracts can be over 50+ pages! So I contacted Todd and asked him a few things and he responded within a few hours the same day/night (in the wee hours of the morning mind you) even though he was just coming back from vacation. Todd responded that he could and would and asked me to forward him the contract, without a single request for payment. I being a reasonable person understand that lawyers are a dime a dozen and they are not free so I asked for his cost and he told me his rates and how many hours he typically bills. We went back and forth a few times over email and he answered all my questions and was completely honest and fair. He then asked me to send over my contract before I signed it and he would review it for me. He reviewed the contract within a day and not only did he do all of that and more, he did not even charge me a single penny! He told me everything in the contract was standard and his services were not required in my situation and gave me a few pointers to move forward. I kept Todd in my contacts and I consulted him once or twice more along the way. He gave me excellent recommendations for inspectors and insurance agents and I used them and they were fabulous and just as easy and professional to work with. A couple of weeks before closing, Todd even reached back out to me and asked if I needed anything further for my purchase. We spoke over the phone this one time, and he was extremely helpful and listened to everything I asked and gave me suggestions. At this point I was completely shocked and thanked Todd tremendously. Lawyers are not cheap by any means and many won't even respond without establishing an attorney-client relationship first. Todd took it upon himself to help me and close all the loops without expecting anything in return. In addition, I learned from Facebook that Todd is also a great community guy and willing to help the people in the neighborhood. Todd works with realtors and insurance agents to provide workshops and information sessions for interested buyers, which is extremely great for new and inexperienced buyers. I'm sure Todd gets plenty of clients and does not need my referral or anything, but I want people to know what to expect and what they will be dealing with, and that is a wonderful and honest guy who goes the extra mile. This is my initial review…read more I hired Jac Knust to represent me in a divorce and a domestic violence case. He advertised that his office is in Columbia, but I think that is only to have it look good. All of my meetings were in a dilapidated room attached to his old house. There was a cat there at least three times trying to jump on my lap and interrupting us. When I mailed a check to his Columbia office, they didn't even know that it was there. They said they don't get mail at that address. In court, when I was on the stand and being cross examined, the lawyer confused me and I gave an incorrect answer. Jac just sat there. Afterwards, I asked him why he did not object. He said something like "I heard you say something, but you mumbled". Wrong. It was through the court microphone. The judge heard me, the other lawyer heard me. Also, Jac tell the judge that he is hard of hearing an asks everyone to speak up. In my opinion my lawyer's hard of hearing caused an issue in my case. When I finally decided to drop him and get a better lawyer, he stopped returning my emails. He owed me close to $10,000 and, so far, two business days, has not returned my calls or emails. Another example: I'm going through a divorce. I made a spreadsheet with all household items and their estimated values. I told jac about it and he said it would be useful. When I showed it to my new, current lawyer, she said "No, that's not good at all. You will need a professional property appraiser to document all of the household items." She new the law. She was very quick with the correct answer. Jac....he just seemed to not know. For some reason, this review was removed from Yelp...reposting The business owner replied that there were many inaccuracies. I call on that business owner to name the inaccuracies.
