I called about subbing again for Kelly Educational, and I got an onboarding packet emailed to me immediately. The next week I was at orientation (which was really relaxed, enjoyable, and informative. Diane is a hoot!) and I was working that same week. There are many more locations to sub at than the last time I worked for this company, so it is really easy to find an assignment on the days you want to work. Also really easy to take off when you need to. Direct deposit and they pay once a week, as opposed to other districts, which only pay once a MONTH. Normal districts would require you to work a whole month and then get paid the following month, sometimes having to wait 6 weeks for a check! Other districts need to use Kelly Services to book their subs. It would be much easier, and the districts would have less liability, therefore making it easier on everyone involved (Employer, Employee, Admin, Other Teachers/Staff at the school, and Students).

From first interview to offer was somewhere between 2-3 weeks total to the best of my recollection. With respect to the if the company doesn't pay the commission that you're responsible, I don't recall signing anything like that. Some of the other complaints posted here regarding having to come into the office for every little thing I do somewhat agree with. There is opportunity to do more over the phone or via email/fax for simple issues like signing the pending offer specifically for candidates residing outside the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As a result, I was out of pocket $209 at the time of my termination from my previous job because of overusing my earned vacation days. However, I've landed into a fantastic organization so in my mind it's worth every penny. All in all, if you're in the DFW area and you're looking to work in the DFW area you could do far worse than using Marshall Career Service. The personalized attention is a successful model in matching candidates to opportunities.

Without delving into deep, which would result in a all-out "rant", let me touch upon two things: Lack of professionalism and poor communication. The recruiter took two weeks just to simply get me in contact with her co-worker that deals with IT/Design roles. During the two-week hiatus, the emails from this recruiter (will maintain anonymity out of respect) went as far as to belittle her coworker' speed at reaching out to me, and even became frustrated with my close friend for recommending her (the recruiter) to me. Yikes, is right!
