I recently stayed a few nights at Avid Hotel in Ocala. The first thing I'd mention is that it's in close proximity to downtown (like a 5 minute drive) but isn't actually downtown. I had never stayed at an Avid and would compare it to Hilton's Tru brand. Small, simply appointed rooms, great for business travelers. Which, as it turns out, is exactly what I am so it worked out for me. I got a king room and it was basically a bed, desk with chair, small fridge, a small area to hang a few clothing pieces, and the bathroom. There's no dresser to put your clothes in or anything (fine, but worth noting). They did have an iron and ironing board which I was happy to make use of during my stay. Like most hotels, they do have a nice snack shop which I made use of for snacks and light lunches. The service was lovely throughout my stay. They also have complimentary breakfast from 6:30-9:30am every morning. I took advantage of it one morning and enjoyed a bagel and schmear, scrambled eggs, and a greek yogurt. They also have a coffee station that's available and well equipped at any hour of the day or night. For solo traveling girlies--it felt like a safe set up. The elevators are in close proximity to the lobby/front desk. The hotel itself is on a busy, well frequented road, and the parking lot is wonderfully well lit. Get to it! read more

The motel was really nice. The staff was outstanding. The breakfast was pretty good, the gym was adequate. GREAT COFFEE !!! There is no swimming pool, but that's not a big issue. *** The only problem is the Vehicle noise from traffic, was very excessive up until about 11:30 to midnight. But that is no way a bad reflection upon the staff or the motel itself! I will definitely stay again, but I will Make sure I bring ear plugs. read more

Although we live within a couple of miles of here, we needed some heavy duty renovations to be done on our home and it made better sense for us to stay somewhere else for the week. Avid came up in our search as really cheap and it was simple enough for what we needed. We checked in late on a Sunday evening. It did not take us long to settle in since we did not have much with us. Our room was clean and although it was small, it was definitely sufficient. I did see previous reviews regarding the noise from outside and I guess that was confirmed with the earplugs provided on the nightstand. I like noise when going to sleep so it did not bother me. The noise of the crappy cars outside during the day was obnoxious though when I was trying to work. The breakfast was honestly more than I expected for a budget hotel. There was fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, granola bars, hot breakfast sandwiches, and coffee. I had early appointments and hubs wanted to get on with the renovations early so we really didn't sit long; just ate and ran. Most days the items were replenished but other times, it appeared slow. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We did not come across any shady customers, which is a plus and rare. We definitely will consider this hotel in the future. read more

Good customer service, cleanliness, quick check-in and check out. The room was clean and just the right size for a quick stay. The gym is small but has enough equipment to get a good workout in. The breakfast in the morning had variety and was good; there is also a snack bar in the lobby. There is a Walgreens and dollar store in the immediate area and a variety of dining options along the strip and a mall about 20 minutes away. Overall, I had a great stay. read more

We stayed here a couple nights during a baseball tourney and was pleasantly surprised! Rooms were clean, beds were comfy. It kinda gave me a college dorm feel... but not in a bad way. Only thing is that the walls were a bit thin so the noise from the hallway permeated into our room. It was an affordable option for us and we would most likely stay again if we were in the area! read more

My family and I recently stayed at the location at 1626 S Pine Ave in Ocala, Fl. We left vacation in Orlando to go to Ocala so I could work. We were arriving the area well before check in time. I called ahead to ask to check in early so my family could comfortably relax. The GM Chandal Smart couldn't have been any more hospitable. Not only did she allow us to come early, but gave us the room she felt had the most space so my kids wouldn't be cramped. When I arrived, Aaron assisted me and made it as smooth as possible. Even comping a ginger ale because I had mentioned my wife was having a slight stomach issue. They also allowed my colleagues to check in early if they arrived early. As someone who travels for work almost weekly, I can safely say that most hotels would Not be as helpful as this location. I would stay here again and again without a second thought. Grabbed this hotel last min while traveling ! I was worried because it was not one I have heard of before but it was pet friendly and I could use my miles and cash to make it affordable ! The hotel was super clean parking lot well lit and safe ! Plenty of green spaces around for my four legged fur baby ! The customer service was amazing and they gave use a welcome doggie bag with plastic bags a poop bag dispenser treats and hand sanitizer ! The room smelled clean and fresh ! The bed was clean and comfy the pillows amazing ! Super impressed! read more

Staff at front desk was very nice and helpful Room was small but clean. Only problem was the road noise and trains all hours of the night. (Even ear plugs didn't help) That being said we Did not get a good nights sleep. Would not mind staying at one of these hotels again but will make sure it is NOT located on to Major roads. Thank you to the amazing staff at this new IHG branded hotel. Chantal and Charlie were kind to answer some questions this morning that America needs to know. I have stayed in hotels for the past 2 years and have seen the best and worst primarily in the Orlando area. This hotel is immaculate. The beds were comfortable and the decor was very modern and the room had thoughtful amenities like built-in USB ports in the nightstands, etc. If you ask they will bring you a refrigerator and microwave to your room during your stay. Plenty of luggage carts and I never heard the neighbors in the room next door. Free business center with a printer for their guests. Free coffee in the lobby. Thank you Avid and IHG. American consumers need access to their money as soon as possible. I am a 2024 US Presidential Candidate who has encountered many issues facing American's today. I can honestly say - the hotels do release deposits the day their customers leave and the folio closes out. Their system processes and releasing to the bank overnight. The bank is the one who holds the money for up to 10 days. They do so to earn interest on money that isn't theirs. I am pushing for bank reform. American's need access to their money- these policies harm those people who travel, etc. read more

We stayed there 7/1-7/4/2023. This was our first stay in this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk, housekeeping and the breakfast staff were all very friendly and approachable. The lady at the front desk in the evening and the breakfast attendant stood out the most as being friendly, helpful and welcoming. The property is well maintained and clean. Bathrooms were nice and clean. I was surprised they provided Dove toiletries like, hand wash, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom (we rented 3 rooms). The beds were comfortable, pillows good and the bedding was nice and clean. They provided adequate amount of towels which were soft, good quality and smelled clean! There are no microwaves in the rooms but each had a mini fridge. The property is located in an easily accessible area with walking distance to Walgreens, dollar tree, and two gas stations. The breakfast was good, they provided Jimmy Dean sandwiches, little omelets, egg muffins, juice, fruits, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins, bagels and cereal. Freshly ground coffee is available all day long. The only thing I wasn't happy about (was my fault) I didn't notice when I booked that there is NO POOL! Overall I was very pleased with our stay. read more

Terrible customer service. After a member of the staff basically admitted to going through our trash and opening an envelope containing money (that we threw out accidentally), the manager was not apologetic or concerned at ALL. No one said sorry or tried to offer us anything in return for an employee taking money from us. If we had at least gotten someone to feel the least bit concerned then I would've been fine. I didn't even need the money back. The manager missed the lesson in customer service..... other than that it was nice hotel. really too bad that this happened. read more
