Terrible culture The FAA grounded half the fleet-- scrambling whenever the FAA visits because they know they're not buttoned up YOU are the customer-- this place runs loans through their school and they treat people like indebted employees instead of paying customers. Unacceptable. Full of instructors racing to 1500. Clapped out questionably maintained airplanes. Clicky vibe. Managers that brushes off maintenance concerns. Tales of instructors using students to time build and sending them into checkrides unaware of what the ACS is. VOR on an IFR plane hadn't been checked in months, an instructor goes, "Yeah, sounds about right for this place." Culture is set from the leaders of an organization and this places let's too much horse crap slide I did my Instrument rating here and I would not repeat that decision or do any other ratings here. There were CONSTANT aircraft issues during my training that wasted hundreds to thousands of my dollars. As well as trying to pass off playing a YouTube video in a classroom as "ground instruction" that they will try and charge you for-- you can do that on your own time.

He called me the night before (though I missed the call) and well in advance of my landing to confirm that I had arrived and when he would pick me up. I could not have had a better driver for the ordeal we went through. There was a major accident on the highway with delays of two hours. Though it took us almost three hours to get to Ocala, it was not within his control, but he tried his best to take an alternate route which likely got us there in more time than we would have if we had gone on the highway. Joe was friendly and knew a lot about the area. I felt badly I was so tired, but he took it all in stride and got me directly to my destination. Though I was nervous at first booking a shuttle I didn't know anything about, and wasn't sure if it would be reliable, I was left pleasantly surprised. Would recommend.

Bobby explained to me the flat rate cost and projected timeline of 3 weeks if things went smooth and no parts delay. My drop off date was Nov 31st near holidays so I was expecting some delay. To my suprise the crew delivered on time and everything went smoothly. I have 1964hrs on my original io550g which has been very well maintained and she was still very strong showing compression in the 70s. Brakes were due but Bobby said only 1 as other looked like it was fairly fresh. I thought I needed a costly battery but he figured out it was a relay issue and corrected. Battery tested good. He never up sold me and saved unecessary costs. Thats a sign of a honest group. My plane flew extremely smooth event free on way home. I feel completely satisfied with honesty and quality of work. I am already on schedule for next year and will recommemd Spectrum Aero to anyone needing aviation maintenence.
